Leslie greeted us on our arrival with a smile which never left her face throughout 4 days we were at the hotel. She was very accomodating and the place would grind to a halt without her. We ate in on two nights and the quality of the food was very good and also very reasonably priced. We had waiter service for breakfast on the first morning but then full buffet service. Both were excellent with lots of choice for the cooked breakfast.,

The lounge and dining area was very dated and lacked atmosphere and the bedrooms could do with an update, but Leslie told us that the hotel was getting an uplift starting from September. We would like to return to see the renovated results.

Excellent place to stay when I go to Yorkshire. The facilities have improved since my last visit in February when they couldn't offer breakfast or evening meals. The food is good and very reasonable priced.

The continental breakfast was great except for the coffee which was horrible. I would suggest offering guests a cafetiere of good quality continental coffee which would make a huge difference to me. The TV in the room 11 didn't work properly because a lot of the channels didn't have a signal. I don't know if this is specific to room 11 or applies to all rooms

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady who's name I can not remember, Scottish accent, she gave us all of the relevant information and went above and beyond what we expected. Our beds were comfortable, the room was large with views of the gardens, the WiFi was good, all staff were polite and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel if we travel that way again. We usually have a large family room as my youngest child is Autistic we prefer to stay in one room all together to try and settle her. I do apologise if any of my daughters behaviour affected any other guests, she can be loud and make strange noises.

The map directions provided through booking.com they take you 20 minutes out of your way not straight to the hotel so we spent a lot of time circling the area before we went through Google itself which got us there in the end. No issues with the hotel it's lovely and we will hopefully visit again.

Lesley &Marie were both exceptional hosts nothing at all was a bother from the moment we walked in we were greeted with the up most respect.Breakfast was delicious!!! Cooked to perfection as we're evening meals. I read responses from some others who previously had stayed &quite clearly Lesley nor Marie must of been there at the time As I can say without any doubt we will return as the only downfall of the stay was having to Leave Many thanks for a most enjoyable time also taking the time for us Heather & Colin xxx

Location ,and price, obviously a ,"work in progress" but if your looking for a cheap getaway with really friendly staff ,lady on desk could not be more helpful food wasn't available to us as we arrived late and left early but the potential for this location is enormous,food luck to the lady we spoke with and all her future plans.

Nothing really the price of room was very fair but I'm sure it won't be to everyone"s taste

Good location. The rooms and bathroom are not as big or as lavish as some more expensive hotels, but they are more than adequate, nicely decorated and clean. Also, WiFi was included at no extra. cost, which today is a standard expectation. For a short stay at that price it's good value. I did'nt have any meals there due to my time schedule.

For my one night stay there were no negative issues

god food, comfortable room, had booked an exec. room but could not use it as there is not a lift.so had a basic room, which was accessible to a disabled person.

the heating was not on, so the hotel was cold till 9.00pm approx., no heating in the morning,if you are 75 and 79 yrs. old you need the warmth morning and evening,

Quiet, really good parking availability, great value for money if you just need ‘a bed for the night’, spacious room, lovely countryside view from the window

It was obvious that the pillows were very new as they were fluffed up and were difficult to sleep on - there was only one option of pillow in the room, although we could have asked for alternatives at reception, we didn’t

Friendly staff, clean and it was ideal for our stay. Thirsk is a lovley village/ town which was 5 minutes drive away. There was options for breakfast and evening meal for an extra charge, which seemed reasonable priced. But we made the most of eating out.

AWe had a small problem with our first room toilet was constantly filling up, which was rectified quickly with a change of room. Small issue with bathroom sink plug which was sorted asap. There was a function room that seemed to be under renovation it did not affect our stay.

Hotel is in the middle of being decorated. Rooms have been greatly improved.

Current decorating work is ongoing. While i understand that this work has to be done, it doesn't need to be a bomb site. Cant reveiw facilities as the property doesnt really have any. There is a bar and food area, but these are not open.
