We stayed in Rose Cottage. Amanda cooked perfect scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and marmalade (our choice, there was plenty more available) and delivered it to our cottage at the time we requested. Very good supermarkets about a mile down the road. We had the company of two horses, two donkeys and a lot of bird life in and around the garden and field by the cottage. Very comfy beds, plenty of storage space, good shower or bath, well equipped kitchen. Lovely people. Very good gastro pub in the next village. Thirsk is a lovely town with independent shops and coffee shops.

The premises, rooms, and breakfast were outstanding as was Amanda who managed to host whilst balancing her time caring for her children without it impeding on her guests. Amanda's recommendation to visit the Harlow Crags Gardens proved an excellent choice.

Only slight niggle that affected our pleasure was that the room was cold. It had been a sunny day so the heating was off, telephone contact was by voice message which sadly remained unanswered. This complaint would not in any way affect booking again if we are ever in the area, in fact re booking with Amanda would be a certainty.

Excellent location very close to Thirsk rail station, ideal for exploring North Yorkshire Dales and Moors. We stayed B&B in The Poplars for 8 nights - unusually long, apparently. The room was spacious, with a desk and chairs and plenty of storage space, so good for a longer stay. The bed was of unusually high quality for a B&B and we slept well. We felt really at home. Amanda the host (and Marie the first weekend) were welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. The room was serviced daily from Monday - unusual in these post-Covid days - and anything extra we asked for was provided swiftly. The breakfast was excellent, with a good choice and even extra choices offered as we were working our way through the menu!

To be very pernickety, there was no shampoo provided, only bodywash - and no shelf in the shower cubicle to put things - although the bathroom otherwise was very well appointed. The tourist leaflets in the room were out of date - we picked up new ones to replace some of them during the week. But these are very minor points indeed compared to the pluses.

We stayed in the Granary Cottage. We were there for a family wedding and we definitely won the accommodation game. We had the best by far of everyone. The Kitchen was neat and well organised, which saved us a lot of money by not eating out. More than everything we needed was provided - they even had an ironing board provided to spruce up our posh clothes before going to the wedding. The bed was lovely, the sofa was very comfortable and having our own space beyond a hotel room was such a wonderful relief. We found it very relaxing and would be very happy to visit again.

We were very satisfied with everything and do not wish to make any complaint. One thing I will note is that they have provided a non-slip mat for the shower that another guest appears to have put away in the drawer while it was still damp. It has now got a bit of mildew on it, but this is in no way an reflection on the cleanliness of the property, which was exemplary.

My wife and I went for a three day break we found that the Poplars was a wonderful place to stay with good off-road parking. The room was exceptionally clean well equipped with a large comfortable bed. We did not initially book breakfast however we did decide to have breakfast two mornings of our stay and what a lovely breakfast it was, it was cooked to perfection with quality ingredients and some of the best Black pudding I have tasted. It is a bit of a walk into Thirsk but its flat we are both in our sixty's and we walked there and back ok however if you feel you are not up to it Buses and Taxis are plentiful. The Train station is close, and you have two pubs within easy walking distance that do food. To summarise I cannot praise Amanda's diligence enough (Thank you Amanda) we shall go again.

We stayed in Nidderdale Room and were very clean and spacious. The bathroom was also very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Property was surprisingly quiet, especially as situated on a busy road. Great nights sleep had by us both. Location was a 20-minute walk or so to Thirsk and perfect central base to what we planned whilst in the area. We also booked the breakfast, which was absolutely superb 👌 and we had a lovely conversation with other guests at breakfast, giving a lovely feel. Hosting was excellent and happy to suggest places to eat etc. I booked this property from the strength of the reviews for location and breakfast reviews - they certainly were not exaggerated, and we had an awesome weekend, thank you.

The Granery was lovely. We were booked into a B&B room but Amanda offered us a cottage. It was such a great spot for us to catch up on quality sleep, it's quiet and very comfortable, as well as having blockout blinds. ♥️ Modern facilities in bathroom and well equipped kitchen We also had the opportunity to make our own breakfasts and dinners, we have been travelling for a month and just wanted a simple salad and steak. Loved seeing the friendly horses and donkeys. It was also a great location to explore York city, North Yorkshire NP and the Yorkshire Dale's NP.

Lovely house offering excellent accommodation, Beds were comfy and the decor and surroundings were top quality. Lovely bathroom with a very good shower, good towels and a complimentary coffee and tea tray....couldn't ask for anythig else from a B & B. We really liked the fact that we had direct access to our room without disturbing the family in the main house. Amanda the host was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was very good and a gluten free option was available on request. There were other guests we spoke to who had been using it every year for over 17 years so Amanda obviously has it right!! Overall we had a very good couple of days in a very homely atmosphere, we'll definitely come back and would highly recommend it to friends. Thank you Amanda and family x

We had a small problem with the heating but Amanda stepped in immediately to rectify it.

A warm and friendly welcome. We had absolutely everything we needed in this beautiful home away from home. Such a therapeutic break for our daughter who loved talking to the horses. Spotlessly clean, peaceful, first rate breakfast. We wished we were booked for longer and will most definitely be back.

The only tiny wee niggle we had was due to another guest and their slightly inconsiderate parking - but that was all. Absolutely nothing negative to say about the establishment or hosts.

We had wonderful time at Rose cottage. The cottage is beautifully maintained, clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. The area is quiet and beautiful – perfect for relaxing. We enjoyed sitting outside, going for walks nearby, and exploring the local area. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We would happily stay here again!
