We like the area of Helmsley, Malton, Pickering so Plum & Partridge in ideal location. Ample parking, room lovely, nice and clean and we could bring the dog who settled well. We had a Sunday roast which was delicious and again the dog could join us in the dining room, staff lovely and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was fab, plenty of choice, good quality produce, my daughter had full English and I had eggs Benedict, only complaint was the soda bread a bit over done. The price for our stay was excellent value and we would definitely stay again, thank you Plum and Partridge for looking after us

We loved this place,we have just recently returned from the plum and partridge on Sunday 21st April 2025,we stayed for 1 night with our four legged friend. We did get here earlier than we planned so we had some something to eat while we were waiting for our room to be ready. The food was delicious with a menu that had something for everyone, the weather was very warm and sunny which made sitting out front in the little seating area extra special,it was so quite and peaceful. The room we had was very tidy and clean, bed was comfortable and the breakfast next morning was very good too. Will definitely be coming back here again probably in the near future.
To be honest I couldn't find anything to fault this place on.

A very warm welcome on arrival. Room was lovely, very clean. It was very warm and took quite a while to cool down once we'd turned of the radiators, but the fan helped! Dinner was delicious, we were fortunate to be there for the 'around the world' menu, all cooked to perfection. Another warm welcome at breakfast time, great coffee, limited continental options but I liked that as it meant not much waste. The cooked breakfast of bacon roll and scrambled eggs on toast were also really tasty. Travelled with our dog and she was very welcomed in the restaurant, but slightly away from other guests in case they didn't like to be near dogs, which shows how the staff are considerate to everyone.
Room very warm as mentioned. Bedside table a bit wobbly. Bathroom a little small, but perfectly functional.

It had a modern country feel, with stunning decor and beautiful rooms! The staff were so friendly and our food was amazing! It was my Dads 3rd Year anniversary of his passing and it was my annual trip away with my Mum. They both used to love to just travel and find country gems to eat stay at. So every year now I find somewhere I know he would have loved and bring my Mum. So at such a sensitive time, this location was perfect and everything he would have loved.
The only thing we struggled with was getting our cases up the stairs, but other than that it was perfect!

Plum and Partridge is a lovely pub, extremely welcoming from the moment we walked in, super friendly staff, our room was lovely with an en-suite wet room, a welcoming tray with some excellent tea, coffee and hot chocolate to. We had our evening meal there and breakfast the following morning, the meals were beautiful and don’t get me started on the desserts because I won’t stop. Stunning! We will go back to the Plum and Partridge and the only thing I would do differently is before we left I would order some Lemon Meringue cheesecake with lemon curd ice cream and bring some home (or take it in the bathroom and not share it with anyone) One more point is they are super friendly if you are bringing one of the dogs with you, Tilly had a lovely breakfast freshly made by the chef.
We have tried to find a fault with our stay and we can’t. Staff lovely, room clean and fresh, iron, fan even a hairdryer……. Would higher recommend the Plum and partridge and will be back soon for another visit x

The location is great, the building is beautiful, nestled in lovely surroundings. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, comfortable and have everything you’d need for a night or two stay. Very peaceful area, we had the window open all night and weren’t disturbed at all. Food at the hotel was delicious and the beer garden at the front is slightly raised and lovely on a sunny day. The staff were very wonderful. They let us have a late check out because we were travelling straight to a wedding. Very much appreciated!
The food at the restaurant is quite pricy. The room we had (Wagyu) would benefit from a full length mirror.

The rooms were clean and fresh and nicely decorated Liked that the property had thought about including fans and extra heaters in the rooms depending on the time of the year. The terrace at the front was fabulous in the sunshine. Staff all friendly and quick to serve drinks and food. Food was lovely- will be back!
I think our bed required a mattress memory foam layer or protector as you could feel the springs as you laid on it which wasn’t the most comfy.

The location is in a quiet village, and it was so peaceful to sit out at the front. The weather was fantastic too. The Pub /hotel staff were excellent, attentive and prompt with service. The room was excellent, Spotlessly clean well placed and all the amenities you need. The toiletries were quality, and quality ran through this place, from staff to furnishings etc. The food was outstanding too. will definitely be visiting again.

Refurbished to a very high standard, this country pub is in a great location for exploring north Yorks and the coast!
The decor and soft furnishings were great and the bar area was very warm and friendly. The young lady in the bar on the evening (23/10) was delightful, chatty and attentive without being intrusive. Food was good pub food, a little over priced as was the beer and wine - more city prices - but a good choice and well presented. Breakfast - good choice, ask for meat (bacon/sausage) to be well cooked!

Cooked breakfast was excellent and well presented. Evening meal was good. Staff were friendly. Room and restaurant were recently refurbished. Good to have local ciders.
Our room had no view - just an atrium roof- which was disappointing since the hotel boasts of its great views. The ventilation in the room was poor and it was very hot despite it being a cold day. A fan was provided and a small window opened but neither made much difference. The room also felt a bit claustrophobic as some of the ceilings sloped. The shower towels were quite small.
