From our arrival to the time we left the staff were very good. They were friendly and helpful, they were also smiley and enthusiastic. The first night we had pre-dinner drinks in the bar, which was very busy, but pleasantly so. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was very good. The second evening my partner's meal was less good as she would have liked more seafood in the dish that she ordered, although mine was again very good. Our room was very spacious and comfortably warm. All aspects were clean and tidy, no real complaint - all as it should be. The only gripe (from my partner) was that there was no full height wardrobe even though there was plenty of space for one to have been there. Breakfast was very good, we both had the full English on the first occasion, then I went for the porridge the next day; my wife had smashed avocado that she thought was too dry. Parking is limited but presented no problems as we just parked in the near-by free car park. We really enjoyed our stay and I'm sure others will too.
Really, there is nothing to say, we quite enjoyed the visit.

I’ve been to the George a few times as my sister lived nearby just for a drink but not stayed before. It took a while to get checked in but we were early. The room was very pleasant, spotlessly clean with a good choice of teas and coffees. The only downside was how hot the room was and unfortunately the air con units from the kitchen were right outside the window and were quite noisy so leaving the windows open wasn’t an option. A fan was provided but didn’t make much difference. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice of hot and cold options and the staff were all very friendly and super efficient. Would definitely stay again
Just how hot the room was

I loved everything! The hotel is much bigger than it looks from the front and our room was quirky and comfy. I especially noticed how fabulous the pillows feel - suspect they're goose down. A super soft topper on the mattress was also supremely comfy. The bathroom was generously sized with a cupboard unit where I could stash my cosmetics. The shower had a rain shower head and a lower head that you can hand hold. The staff were so helpful and friendly - my phone charging plug decided it wouldn't work but a young bar man found the right charging lead so I could charge it near the bar. It is a busy place and it was lovely to see a venue used by locals and visitors alike - all cheerful and friendly too. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed that too. If you can't get a space in the George carpark then there's masses of free parking in the vicinity. Good breakfast was included in the tariff. Easingwold is absolutely gorgeous. The marketplace is so pretty and there's many stunning buildings and lots of original cobbles. A beautiful place to stay!
There was nothing to dislike. It was a wonderful couple of days away.

On a previous visit to York, we stopped at the George in Easingwold for Sunday lunch. After a wonderful meal, we decided that if we came back to the area, that we would stay here. It did not disappoint. What a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, we received exceptional service. The room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had a drink in the car before dinner in the restaurant. The food was as I remembered; exceptional. Breakfast the following morning was fresh and tasty, and the lovely staff couldn’t do enough. We will definitely be back.

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean rooms tastefully decorated and the beds were comfy. Bathrooms were clean and had toiletries. Tea/coffee and bottled water in room and chairs for sitting in. Had dinner in the restaurant and all the dishes were top notch, the steak was especially well cooked to different peoples liking. Breakfast was equally as nice and plentiful. No pastries tho.
Check in was a bit chaotic because there wasn't a separate check in desk so we had to queue up at the bar with those that were ordering drinks. It was a very sunny, busy day so we had quite a wait. All 3 rooms could hear noise from the bar below when trying to sleep but I guess this is to be expected for a pub, maybe leave ear plugs in the rooms.

Dinner was Sunday Roast, amongst other items, it was very nice, good portions maybe the beef was a little pink for my liking but nevertheless very tasty and plenty of it. Breakfast was excellent, good varied choices and cooked to order and once again plenty of it. The room was at the front of the building looking onto the Market Place as it is not a busy town it was peaceful enough no wild sirens going on like in cities. King sized bed, couple of pillows quite firm, large tv screen on the wall and plenty of cupboard/storage space. The bathroom was long and fairly narrow, loo, bath with shower and wash basin. Shower wasn't that good, not a good spread of the water but got hot after a short while, Usual toiletries though in large pump action plastic bottles that seemed a bit difficult to work. Nice towels. I would suggest all the bathroom loos, taps etc were a little old fashioned but expected in a nice old style hotel. We enjoyed our stay, staff were very pleasant and friendly. The bar was well stocked with draught beer and good to see a blackboard with 'coming soon' ales, made a pleasant change to know there was more than lagers on offer.
We advised on check out that the shower head possibly needed clearing/cleaning to get a better water spread from the shower head.

The pub has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of drink choices. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. Free parking in their own car park. Our room was next to the extractor, which the young man made me aware of when he checked us in. It wasn't a problem for us, and the extractor has to be somewhere. The room is beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Proper mirror at the dressing table. Full length mirror. (Which isn't always a given) Quality curtains, which allowed total darkness. The room was very well equipped, ie fan, portable radiator, neither of which were needed. Nice tea tray with plenty of choice of drinks and biscuits. Bathroom was very clean and has a large shower which had very good water pressure. The water in the sink got very hot, which was great for my husbands shave. Plenty of clean towels and toiletries. Properly flushing toilet. The restaurant was very nice, staff were attentive, but not overbearing. I asked to be moved table onto the comfortable chair, which was no problem. The menu was varied and although we only chose the burger stack,it was really tasty. Breakfast was included in our stay and again,it was really nice. The ladies were friendly and efficient and offered more toast and drinks without issue. The food was fresh and my poached eggs were cooked to perfection. Overall,I have to say ,our stay was relaxing and enjoyable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here.
We were happy with our whole experience.

The George Hotel offers the convenience of on-site parking. Check-in was smooth, and we received a warm welcome from the staff. Our family room was spacious, featuring a double bed and a bunk bed, and was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was well-equipped with a delightful shower, an LED-lit mirror, and complimentary toiletries. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The room included a built-in radiator along with an additional portable heater if needed. The TV offered streaming services, and the WiFi connection was fast and reliable. Breakfast was outstanding, with a wide selection of hot and cold options, juices, and spreads. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our vegetarian preferences, and the halloumi was particularly delicious.
None. Everything was great.

The location was lovely, and the pub itself was decorated beautifully. The room was much bigger than we expected with a really nice bathroom. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a good variety of options, and was served by very friendly staff. Loved the little welcome pack with some biscuits and hot chocolate. We really enjoyed our weekend away, and enjoyed eating in the restaurant in the evening too.
In the mornings we could hear music coming from downstairs which seemed to be turned on about 8am. Also the window in our room was very stiff and hard to open, which made the room feel a bit stuffy.

The staff are so nice! They made us feel so welcome. We arrived much later than planned (to check in/make our dinner reservation) and the staff said we could order room service as we were shattered. The food was amazing! Definitely eat there if you can. Breakfast was also great, lots of choice and cooked so well. Check out is 11am which is nice and relaxing. The pub and the rooms are lovely, so clean. A really cool pub/restaurant and hotel. They are super dog friendly and laid out a water and food bowl, towel, fleece blanket and a tennis ball which is a super cute touch. There is a park just over the road which is great for quick comfort walks ;) The market town is also really cute. It was a great stay and we'd go back if in the area again.
I always wear ear plugs so I didn't hear anything but my other half was woken at 7am on the Saturday morning by a delivery to the pub. The rooms are out the back and a van backed in past the door. You can also hear the people in the room next door. Something to bear in mind if a light sleeper. Otherwise it's a great boutique pub hotel and amazing value for a dog friendly room and breakfast.
