It’s pretty, rooms were large, food was good and service was good in parts.

Unfortunately there was a wedding on mid week when I was there so I couldnt sleep until gone 2am when the ‘Dads disco’ ended. I do think hotels should tell you if there is a late function or party when you book. Also one of the bar staff spent all evening slating other guests (including the Bridesmaids) in front of other guests. Which made some of us feel pretty uncomfortable which is a pity because I liked the place on the whole and find weddings rather hopeful and cheerful events.

Everything from first going was excellent. Reception desk staff were professional, warm & friendly, our room was large, comfortable & immaculate decore The Hotel itself lovely, food delicious & all staff were so courteous/helpful & a pleasure to deal with. Cannot understand why Hotel only has a 3* rating as my husband & l hv stayed in some 4* rated hotels which definitely are not as good as Burn Hall!!!!!

Only down side was the pillows which were very soft. Obviously we could have asked for more but just decided to manage as everything else was lovely. As Hotel have "special offer" deals on which we could have benefitted from & as we have used your company many times before for booking we are very disappointed with you tt you did not offer us or make us aware this deal which wld hv saved us money off the actual accommodation price but also off the price of meals purchased!!!!

We were attending a nearby music festival and wanted comfortable local accommodation for its duration. We’d booked two doubles because another couple had intended to join us, but in the end they couldn’t. However, we met some different friends who stayed in the spare room for the last night and the staff on reception could not have been more accommodating, flexible and helpful. They represent your hotel exceptionally well, as do your restaurant staff. Breakfast was excellent - well cooked and plentiful, with superb service. We will definitely stay again!

Everything was excellent!

The hotel itself is beautiful, incredibly clean and well staffed. We checked in around 9:30 in the evening and the young lady who checked us in was personable and kind. She showed a great interest in us and it made us feel very welcome. The room was spacious and well laid out as was the bathroom; a good size and exactly what one would need. We woke up and went to breakfast. The man who welcomed us and checked our room number was very friendly and brightened my morning. The wait staff were professional, kind and helpful. The food was lovely and the service perfect.

The only disappointment was the size of the bed and the pillows. The beds themselves were comfortable enough but when one is used to a king size bed a double feels rather small and there were no king size beds on offer. The biggest thing for me was that the pillows were so hard. I had one that was so thin you needn't bother sleeping on it and the other had 2 thin pillows in one case. I woke up with a headache, sore neck and back. I would definitely stay here again but would bring my own pillows from home.

The public areas were very nice and well decorated . The rooms were ok but basic although the room was clean . The food is good apart from my pie being under cooked on the first night and my Hunters chicken not having any bacon on ,both these issues were put right immediately . The hotel is set in a lovely wooded and grass area , we always got a parking spot when returning from a day out .

The extractor fan in the bathroom was useless , everything in the bathroom was wet for hours after a shower infact we reported it as not working but were told that it was , the basin plug lever broke on our last morning so I couldn't use the basin after my husband as it was full of used water . We had scaffolding outside our window due to roof retiling but were not told about this on check in .

Clean, comfortable room, hot bath, a bar! (with lovely seating area out front). Quiet location, but only 10 mins drive to York. Breakfast included.

No fault of the hotel but wedding guests were shouting in the hallway at 1am, but they must have passed out pretty quick once in their room as we slept very well after that. Might be a northern thing but Veggie/Vegan options at breakfast would be nice - lots of meat, but staff were happy to fry a couple of eggs for my lactose intolerant partner (milk in the scrambled eggs).

the breakfast is buffet ,with cereal etc and usual hot food, the meals in the evening were really good on both nights ,very good menu ,the room was what you expect ,clean and comfortable perfectly adequate.we have stayed here many times and would definitely stay again.

may be my imagination but the staff did not seem to be as relaxed as the last time we were there but the hotel was very busy and plenty of pressure for them,They are polite and helpful and professional and I would like to thank them all for their kind service

Good value for money. Clean and had a lift for easy access from reception. Breakfast staff were wonderful.

Electric car chargers were round the back, a fair distance from reception therefore not great for someone with mobility problems like myself. The bins were unsightly and had to pass them walking to and from the electric car chargers where I left my car. Hobbling around the tight corner where they are did not feel very safe as no pavement. “Do not step on the grass” sign could be replaced with a path.

Nicely set in large grounds in a very quiet area. Hotel has a nice looking frontage with seating out areas overlooking a large lawn with additional tables . Car parking is free and is scattered around the side and back of the hotel …. I do feel personally it could be better set out and sign posted it looks slightly neglected unfortunately. The internal structure throughout is very good and all staff are well trained and friendly . Food was excellent throughout our stay and the restaurant was run very well .

No real negativity apart from the parking as mentioned above it slightly lets the hotel down in my humble opinion.

Absolutely fantastic cannot praise this place enough beautiful hotel stunning grounds lovely quiet hotel food was absolutely incredible I'd go there just to eat, and brilliant price the bed was very comfortable and rooms was clean and fresh, rooms cleaned on request only so you don't have anyone walking in or bothering you in the mornings on longer stays, and the staff were fantastic lovely and friends and even remembered what table we loved to sit at

Loved everything but would reccomend maybe adding hashbrowns on the breakfast, can't wait to stay again
