I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Burton Stone Inn. Parking was very easy, just behind the building. The room was a real surprise! It was clear a great deal of thought and planning had gone into the room and the result was a very stylish, comfortable area to relax in. The en-suite bathroom had been carefully incorporated into the room and the shower was fantastic. The bed, a four poster (a first for me!) was very comfortable and I slept very well. The property is on a road which is quite busy during the day, however it’s quiet at night and I was not disturbed even with the window open. The city centre is a 10 minute walk away with all the attractions it has to offer. The hosts were welcoming and kindly provided a guide book with map so it was very easy to enjoy some local sightseeing. I almost forgot the roof terrace - a delightful little communal area to relax in and quite the sun trap when the weather cooperates.

I was very happy with everything I experienced. There was really nothing I did not like.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. Beds were comfortable, room was huge (great for the children). Location was just a ten minute walk from the city centre and we could reach everything by foot. Breakfast was awesome - there were cereals, toast, jam, yoghurt and fruit salad served as a buffet. Warm breakfast choices could be ordered - the fried halloumi with English muffin and scrambled eggs was the best, in my honest opinion. Our hosts were very nice and we felt welcome. We hope to visit Britain again in the next few years and if we have the chance, we will definitely stay at Burton Stone Inn again.

We absolutely loved our stay, it was so lovely decorated and our room was a good size and there was everything you needed, I thought having shower gel and liquid soap was a lovely touch the room was beautiful and the tea and coffee was topped up daily, it was in a perfect location we didn't use our car as it was about 15 to 20 minutes walk to the town, we paid extra for breakfast which was really good as there's plenty of choices, and they have a bar which was open 4 until 8pm which was nice with a good stock of drinks and the staff were lovely, we would highly recommend staying here, hopefully we will be back again soon 😊

The staff were delightful and extremely helpful from arrival to departure. The entire location was spotless and offered all the amenities one might need. My room was unbelievably clean and well kept, the bed was comfy and the location was quiet. The bathroom was delightful also. Driving up from Colchester I was provided with parking and it was a short walk into the city centre. I truly cannot sing the praises of this establishment more, superb stay. - Ross Miklaucich

Burton Stone was a fantastic find. An easy 10 minute (maximum) walk into York made it a great location. Parking on site is a bonus. Our room, Number 9, was large and airy...had the biggest bay window I have ever seen which had been made into a comfortable seating area. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was modern and clean. Good range of teas and coffee, with biscuits and chocolates an added extra. Aggie and her husband Michael were very friendly. Breakfast, cooked to order, was excellent, and there was a very good choice. Should you stay there? YES! We will be back.

I love this hotel so much and this is my third stay! The location is perfect for accessing the city centre. The owners are so welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. The newly refurbished part of the building is gorgeous! We stayed in room 9, which was just a shell and in the process of being decorated last time I stayed here. Wow what a difference! Beautiful stained glass window, a comfortable king size bed, a seating area, a lovely shower. The decor was spot on, with a botanical theme. The room is huge too! Our breakfast was great! Good quality local ingredients cooked to perfection. My one quibble would be that the room needs some black out curtains, as the blinds only block out light coming through the bottom of the window, obviously because they don't want to cover that gorgeous stained glass. Thicker curtains would be the icing on an amazing room! I would 100% stay in this room again. We're booked to come back in August to the family room, and can't wait to stay again.

The room was beautiful, great facilities and the beds were extremely comfortable. The host was very friendly. The bar area and courtyard were lovely, although we didn't use them. The breakfast looked amazing (we had to leave otherwise would have had). We will definitely stay again.

The wires coming from the TV let the room down slightly as everything else was perfect. There was a noise (humming) that came on for a while in the morning- not sure if that was the heating? It went off around 9am. We'd had a late night the night before so it was a little distracting but did not take away from the lovely night's stay.

The owners, Michal and Gaby, are very friendly and welcoming and very accommodating. They make you feel at home straight from the start. They know a lot about York and North Yorkshire and have provided us with very useful information about what there is to see and also which restaurants to go to. The B&B is strategically situated on the road near the town centre, at less than 10 minute’s walk. We had a lovely room with an en suite on the first floor at the front. The beds are made up daily, the bathroom is cleaned daily, it is all very clean. The pub downstairs is a hub for the locals and the guests, friendly atmosphere. Breakfast is very good, English and continental. We certainly recommend the Burton Stone Inn!

Breakfast was good, location was as expected, a short walk to the city center. We paid for a nice room and that is what we got, a large bed, clean and spacious room. The breakfast was likewise very good, I'd go again. Every member of staff were interacted with was very pleasant and efficient.

Only one toilet roll, I mean, maybe an oversite but I'd have liked a couple more. And I'm never a fan of a no-refund cancellation policy, but that didnt affect us. Other than that, nothing negative to say.
