Nour the owner is a complete dream. So kind and would bend over backwards to make you happy - nothing is ever too much trouble. The guest house feels so warm and friendly and yet you still feel you have space. It was a particularly hot week while I was there so when I got back from work I would sit outside the guest house and Nour always had a chair and table waiting for me! So kind! The guests have always been so lovely too. My room was light and airy and very comfortable. It feels very safe there also. I loved it and can't wait to return for work soon! Thank you so much to Nour and all for always making me feel so welcome!

My second stay at Vikings Accommodation and certainly not my last! I've already booked for next year and hope to return before that planned visit. I requested an early check in as I was travelling from Richmond North Yorks after a 3 day stay for a wedding, I was also attending York races on the day of my arrival. They allowed me to check in early allowing me to get suited and booted for a day at the races! As I travelled with what looked like "everything but my kitchen sink" the manager helped me with all carrying all my stuff up to my second floor room. Room was excellent all you need to enjoy your stay. Same room as my previous visit and after a year it was still in immaculate condition with a Coffee and tea facilities and complimentary chocolates also. Comfortable bed and a fantastic hot shower which is very new and modern. Although breakfast is not available there is a dining area and well equipped kitchen which are both spotlessly clean and you are able to use these facilities if after a long day of sightseeing you wish to eat in the accommodation. Location is excellent and and easy 10 minutes or less walk to York Minster. Sad to leave Vikings Accommodation I could have stayed there for lot longer😕. Will always make this accommodation my first choice in York, as long as they keep up the high standards they aim to achieve to and succeed in! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Kevin Wallace

We stayed at Vikings for 2 nights. Very friendly welcoming host. Our room was upstairs and had views of other apartments around the area. A fan was supplied which helped due to the heatwave at the time. We had our own bathroom and there was a great shared kitchen with refrigerator, microwave etc and sitting area downstairs. The host allowed us to wash and dry our clothes. We were lucky to get a car park at front of the accommodation which cost 5 gbp per day which was awesome. Town centre of York was an easy 10 min walk away which was perfect - close to attractions and shops.

Nothing - would highly recommend

We were welcomed super nicely and the check-in process was very smooth. Lovely, clean room with a comfy bed. The bathroom was clean and the shower & water pressure really good - not always a given! Kettle and coffee machine are available in the room, as well as downstairs in the communal area, where you'll also find a communal kitchen. I personally also really appreciated having a powerful hairdryer available in the room. The hotel is in easy walking distance from York city centre and makes a perfect base for exploration. Highly recommend!

The parking situation is a bit tricky as you need a permit to park out front, but if you're lucky, you'll find a free parking spot in one of the permit-free side streets!

absolutely could not fault the host! a text to ask when we'd arrive and to tell us our room was ready early. on arrival, he showed/ talked us where to go, how to get to york centre etc. he had a larger room spare so gave this to us for no extra charge! carried our luggage up and down from our room and even to our taxi when we left, which he also organised for us!! he could not of been more welcoming and accommodating. we were able to leave our luggage safely with him once we'd check out and our train home wasn't until 6 hours later. we throughly enjoyed every moment of our stay so thankyou!!

not a single thing

The host was incredibly helpful, professional and friendly which made everything stress free on our trip,he was there to welcome all guests and was at the end of any and everything phone call or message within minutes to help with pretty much anything you needed help with, the rooms were clean, spacious and had good tea and coffee making facilities including coffee pod machines, also the decor was good and stayed with a theme throughout the accommodation, all facilities such as the kitchen and sitting areas were spacious and very clean, and the value for money is amazing considering you are a 10 minute walk from the centre of york.I will most definitely be booking here any time I stay in York thank you for a lovely trip 😁

The area of the Vikings Accomodation is easy to reach from the train station and a 10 minutes walk to the city center, which was incredibly convenient. Plus, the area felt safe and is very well taken care of. The check-in and check-out were easy and our host was incredibly lovely - he gave us many helpful tips for our stay and was truly lovely. The room was spacious and with plenty of space for our lugguage, a tea area, very comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom. Has to be mentioned that everything was spotless! Not just the room, but also the common areas - with a fully equipped kitchen and living room area. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be returning for sure on our next trip to the UK!

Everything was great, no complaints

Super cozy and spacious place, fully stocked with your typical hotel “extras”, very thoughtful in small details (like a separate makeup mirror), great location within a short easy walk to the town center. Hosts were very friendly but I only saw them when I was leaving, the communication and any instructions before that were excellent and self check in was super easy. Beds are comfortable, there is a nook with a table to enjoy your morning tea. Quiet neighborhood.

The carpets and walls are a bit ran down with some old markings but you can tell the place is getting properly cleaned otherwise.

The perfect place to stay at.Easy to find (I had some problems due to road works which were taking place in the city at that time (so, normal footpaths were simply closed). However as soon as i took the right direction from the train station i found the place easily.Comfortable double bed (although i was booking a room with a single bed.quiet street, still close to the town centre.2 little shops(coop and sainsbury's)in case you want to save money on food, well equipped kitchen.one of the greatest pluses:coffee machine with unlimited capsules (coffee was really perfect!) and a kettle right in rhe room!High water pressure in the shower was also also a big plus. The room was clean, modern and very warm (what is really very important in winter!By the way, you can regulate the temperature in the room by yourself.).

The only minus-not enough light in the room in general.i was keeping the main light (one bulb was missing) and a bedside lamp on when staying in the room even during the day, and it still was too dark for me.Maybe this is just my personal opinion,as i live in the light house.

The location is great. A short uber ride from the train station with our luggage. Easy walking distance into the city. The staff was fantastic. So kind and gave us lots of recommendations that made our trip great. We were in room 2 which was spacious for the two of us. Use of the kitchen was great. we would stay here again.

My only complaint was on 2 out of the 5 nights I could smell cigarette smoke very strongly at night time. I'm not sure where it was coming from as the hallway didn't smell and the windows are new and they were shut. I could smell it in the bathroom and by the head of the beds. I'm not sure if there was a vent it was coming through but it was unpleasant. We were in room 2.
