The location of the property was excellent, the owners were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were exceptional

The room was a little too high tech, everything was done via an app even the heating and ordering breakfast. It made it a little impersonal. We are good at using apps and found the system straightforward but we know a lot of people of our age would have found this all too hard. I am mentioning this as constructive criticism only.

The room was absolutely stunning. We stayed in the Samurai room. Everything was very clean. The smart tv with netflix included is a nice touch. We didn't really use that as we were always out and about. The breakfast was the best I have ever had when staying at a guest house. All the ingredients were top quality. I liked ordering the next days breakfast on the app and particularly liked having the option to customise certain elements such as how you would like your eggs. The hosts Tony and Diana were both very friendly and attentive. Location-wise it is about a 15-20 min walk from the centre which may put some people off. This wasn't an issue for us. Our parents stayed at the guest house with us in another room so walking wasn't always an option for us. There is a bus stop just across the road which has a bus going into town every 15 mins or so. The bus was very cheap with a group day ticket for 4 people only costing £13. This gave unlimited use on York First buses for the whole day. All in all a fantastic experience.

I cant say there was anything I personally disliked. Some people may be put off by the fact it isn't as central as other accommodation and some people may not like the idea of using an app to control room climate and order breakfast. This wasn't an issue for me but I realise some people may not be used to using technology to order.

The property was very nice, we felt the staff were really friendly & attentive. The room was beautifully decorated & clean. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic & plentiful, there was a great range of things to choose from. It was situated in a great place for easy walking access to the main attractions of York. We loved our stay & will definitely return.

Slight smell in en suit toilet that we couldn't decide what it was possibly urine or slight damp. But that was contained to bathroom only it did not affect the room & was only detected while using the toilet. And was slight. And the television was lagging. Apart from that we were very happy with everything.

Tony was very welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were excellent, the app to use was easy and useful. Fresh coffee from the machine in the reception was available anytime at no extra charge. Large wall mounted TV with Netflix provided.

4 flights of stairs to our room number 8 Qing Hua, nxt time would have a room on the ground floor. Banged our heads a few times on the sloping roof nxt to each side of the bed. Had to adjust the shower head as it had a kink in the pipe attached to the head and kept turning to the side which made the water leak on to the bathroom floor.

We stayed in room 8. The room was spacious, immaculate, bed was very large and comfortable. The room had a safe for our valuables (not that we felt unsafe at any point). We had a fridge to keep our drinks cold, complimentary drinks, milk, tea, coffee provided - nice touch. The bathroom was modern, clean, bath and shower and complimentary toiletries provided. Air conditioning and climate control unit was in the room too. The room was very comfortable with 2 chairs, large TV, dressing table and ample storage. The car park had ample free parking - bonus. Very safe and secure. The owners were very attentive, kind, nothing was a bother for them. Lovely people. The entire house was immaculate! Could not find a single spec of dust! Breakfast was ordered the night before on the app. Very convenient. The breakfast choices were excellent. Also cooked to perfection! The dining area also had a barrista style coffee maker which was free to use to make various coffees anytime. I've never ever given a rating of 10 for a guest house but I could not fault this one at all. Book it! You won't be disappointed!

Very comfortable room decorated with an Asian theme. Tea & Coffee making available in the room but can also use the coffee machine in the breakfast room all day if preferred. Really nice breakfast, cooked to order. Would certainly visit again on future visits to York

Nothing. The only thing to note is that our room was on the 2nd floor so if you struggle with stairs suggest informing the owners at booking because ground floor rooms are available

Our stay at Tower Guest house exceeded our expectations. We had a lovely, well-appointed light filled room with a very comfy bed and pillows. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of options and cooked fresh to order! It is worthy of the awards they have received. Free on-site parking was fantastic with a short walk into town. The guest house was beautifully decorated and cared for. Tony was a lovely helpful host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend the guest house to others.

We were made to feel very welcome from the momnet we stepped through the front door. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Lovely big shower with soft towels.. We loved the app one can use to put the heating on whilst out and about. Everything was just perfect. The breakfast was also amazing.The homemade granola was delicious. 10/10 for service, room comfort and size. Tony's welcome and informative about York city was brilliant and so much appreciated, he gave us so much of his time . We will be back with our children.

What a fantastic hotel! We stay in York at least twice a year. Never come across this hotel and booked last minute and my goodness what a find! Everything was exceptional. The level of detail throughout the room was fantastic. Spotlessly clean Staff so lovely Breakfast absolutely fantastic. We've already agreed we are coming back so we can experience the other themed rooms so glad we found you guys!

Everything was absolutely amazing. Only slight critic and it's more to help the owner and staff is our room could do with a shower curtain cause we kinda chucked water everywhere in the shower. But even that wasn't a issue we still loved everything!

A friendly greeting from Tony. Easy to use app to order breakfast. Use of a toilet on early arrival. Easy parking. Comfortable room. Extra touches: mini fridge with cold milk, water and cans of pop. A guide to York and the sights with an easy route in as advised by Tony. Delicious hot breakfast. Table service at breakfast was really lovely with Tony bringing across your hot drinks and hot food order and greeting you by name. Everything was above and beyond.
