Good location a short walk into the centre of York but it is also on 3 bus runs so a bus is coming every 10 minutes or so and no need to purchase tickets just tap on and off with contactless payment If you are travelling for a long time like us there is a laundrette just across the street and an off licence shop on the corner

The layout of the facilities were a little different with the shower beside the bed and the property rule not allowing you to eat or drink in your room just in case you drop something on the bedding not great when you are trying to budget travel and want an easy cheap meal

For just £7, you can park in the hotel's private parking lot, which is great. It's only about a 10-minute walk to the city center. The room is clean and comfortable. Also, there's a nearby Chinese takeaway called Chop Suey House — it's cheap, delicious, and offers generous portions. It's very popular.

We had been communicating with the host through the platform's messaging system, but when it came time to check in, no message was sent with the check-in code. Instead, we had to call and speak over the phone in order to get the code to open the door. It was really hard to understand why this wasn’t sent in advance.

Very friendly, called to try and check in early and they said we could collect the key and leave the car (parking is extra, don't agree with this, but it is) Collected the key card and when we did come back later it was clean and functional. The room was smaller than it appeared in photos but it was bright and comfortable. It does need an overhaul and a repaint though. There was tea, coffee and water, and a fridge. Had a comfortable night and location is decent, you can walk easily into the town centre. Very friendly again upon checking out. Not a bad price for York. Would use again.

Extra charge for parking

Room was small but more than adequate for our needs, only a couple of things that disappointed was, no breakfast although had booked as a bed and breakfast, and as we had travelled for a family funeral it would of been very appreciated. The small fridge in the room was a bonus, as have stopped at more expensive hotels and not had one in the room, as it was very hot it was hugely appreciated.

Although not a drinker myself, my hubby appreciates a can every now and again, and to be threatened with eviction and surcharges if you either ate or drank in the room, other than the tea and coffee provided.

It was super easy to get to the rail station and main shopping area from here, and the corner shop right next door was super convenient! The building felt very secure given there wasn't any on-site staff (save for the cleaner), the room was very comfortable and the facilities exceeded my expectations (fan, radiator and portable heater, hair dryer, mini fridge, access to airer on request, TV). Totally worth the price!

The only issues we stumbled across was the bedside lamp and small light over the bed both had blown out bulbs, and getting into the building when you first arrive can be troublesome. The phone service by the front door can be a bit spotty, and you have to call to get the code to get into both the building and your room. From there though you can just use your room key for both doors easy peasy!

The rooms were clean, with everything we needed for a short stay. The hotel is well positioned for York centre (we went in to walk around the walls, see the Minster etc.).

Parking should be absorbed in the room price rather than charged separately. Not the fault of the hotel at all, but there was some late night noise from people passing outside (situated on a main road) and from other residents. There is no reception and the hotel appears unstaffed, although there is a 24hour help line which we used to get the entry codes.

Staff are very friendly. The room comes with a kettle, hairdryer, TV, fan and heater which all worked and were high quality. The bed was comfortable and the bath was more spacious than expected.

Struggled with the water from the taps and the shower. Could not get hot water from the shower so baths were the only option which was fine for us.

Staff I spoke to were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and tidy, and there was adequate tea and coffee making facilities , any questions or problems were answered with a quick phone call, close to the city centre and shops nearby very handy

Paying for parking in a place where you are actually staying at seemed a bit much, but nothing to do if that's the policy, we were told of this prior to arrival, Fan in the room wasn't working and I had phoned ahead to ask about a fan , so had to sleep with window open and outside noise

We organised an early check in, this was done well and quickly and how to get in and out and where to park explained very well. The lady who organised the check in was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the toiletries and towels excellent. Good location a fairly short walk from the city centre.

The bottled water was a bit old and the room a little crowded as it was on the top floor.

Everything was provided as stated in the offer. The room wasn't vary spacious, but there was enough space for everything. There were no problems with air circulation, noise and curtains were working properly.

The room needs better cleaning. We found some leftovers from the previous guests in the fridge. It wasn't terribly dirty, but we had to clean in ourselves anyway. There was an empty juice carton behind the bed and some unpacked biscuits behind the cupboard, which is not that bad. The worst finding was an old cigarette under the shower. Event though the smoking is prohibited, the cigarette was there and it smelled bad before we turned on the ventilation.
