Sue was so kind and went out of her way to dry our clothes for us after we'd gotten caught in a downpour on a hike. She even grabbed our hiking boots from our room to dry those too!

The hot water ran out after one of our family of four had showered and and the electricity cut out if we tried to charge our phones and use the heaters (and it was chilly at night during our stay) at the same time. But once we figured this out the first night it wasn't too difficult to work around!

We enjoyed every aspect of our very brief stay. The outside and inside of the property is extremely well maintained in all areas. We really enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the orchard. There are a number of areas to enjoy outside each adding something lovely to the experience of staying there. Our room was large and comfortable and clean with lovely decor and bathroom facilities very good. Much to commend the room. Breakfast and the choices offered were excellent and food cooked and presented with care. Our host was extremely pleasant and helpful.

The location was ideally placed & easy to visit lots of our intended areas. It was also easy to get to the nearest towns North Allerton & Thirsk, whilst still being in a very quiet peaceful area. Sue went above & beyond with regards to my asthma triggers & also being a coeliac, couldn’t have asked for more. Breakfasts were super yummy, room & grounds were lovely. The honesty bar is also a great touch. You didn’t want for anything.

Nothing we didn’t like

Eagles cottage was equipped with everything we could possibly need. Having a pool, hot tub, bbq, bar and multiple seating areas on the grounds really set it apart from other holiday lets.

We would usually look for somewhere within walking distance of a village/town to be able to explore more on foot - but with such good facilities onsite and easy access by car to Thirsk or Northallerton, it really wasn't an issue here.

We loved the thought that had gone into offering the little extras. We loved the bar area and the outside seating area. Breakfast was delicious, and the room was fabulous. We will definitely be back. 🤗

Just a suggestion, it needs a larger sign on the outside of it, to show people where it is, as we missed it and nearly missed it again.

Sue the host was friendly, helpful and went out of her way to accommodate dietary requirements for myself and my daughter. George the dog was gorgeous, and so affectionate ❤️

There wasn't anything I disliked. Unfortunately due to storm Darragh we couldn't use the hot tub 😫 which is one of the reasons I booked to stay here, as it was my birthday week. But this is down to weather only.

Everything about this stay was fantastic. The room we booked was spacious, the area is so quiet. Sue, the owner was so nice and she went above and beyond to make our stay a good one. We spent the night in the robes and slippers provided, drinking a bottle of wine we bought from reception and watched the rugby World Cup bronze playoff game and we couldn’t have asked for a better night. The home cooked breakfast the next morning was extremely nice, there was a lot of choice and we even had a surprise visit from George the dog at the end of our meal.

Nothing!

Lovely room, king size bed, spacious bathroom. Plenty of tea coffee milk etc and nice big cups, proper glasses, lovely complimentary shower/shampoo etc. A very nice stay and thoroughly recommended.

It would have been nice to have a bath along with the shower. The room was tidied and bed made whilst we were out which I understand many people would be happy about... personally I would have liked the option to accept or refuse... Perhaps I am strange, but I like to think that my hotel room is private.

Breakfast was great, lots of choice and open to whatever we wanted. Sue is a wonderful host who instantly puts you at ease and makes you feel that this is your temporary home. The outdoor area is bliss, a hot-tub and pool, with lovely peaceful grounds. It even has a little bar that feels like a mini local pub. Exceptional stay, Sue is so friendly and can't do enough to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.

Nothing - everything was perfect!

Everything! Sue is very kind and hospitable! The room and adjoining dressing room and bath were nicely furnished/equipped, including an electric kettle with various hot drink options. Breakfast was exceptional! Lots of choices! Yum! The property is picturesque, and the chirping birds really add to the natural ambiance. Just lovely!
