Lovely atmosphere, even though it was really busy in the bar and restaurant, all the staff were attentive, very pleasant, we didn't get kept waiting for anything and yet nothing felt rushed. Room decor nice and quirky (you knew you were in Yorkshire!). Food really good (both dinner and breakfast), and lovely wine list. Best of all, it was truly dog friendly (we weren't shoved in a corner in restaurant, or put in a rubbish room like in some 'dog friendly' places).

If ur a light sleeper, maybe ask if u can have a room at the back (the hotel fronts onto a busy roundabout). Saying that, my husband and I slept great as the bed was so comfy, and we're not particularly bothered by traffic noise, especially after a lovely dinner and drinks!

Very dog friendly, which is important to us. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food at dinner was very good with a good choice and reasonably priced too. Breakfast was generous with a buffet and also table service for freshly cooked meals. Although the hotel was just off a roundabout, our room was very quiet. The pub has a unique character with a whimsical Yorkshire theme, which enhanced our stay. There are lovely river or canal walks to walk the dog, just across from the hotel.

Our room was clean but we found it a little cramped as it had an air-conditioning unit which made accessing the wardrobe tricky and though I'm sure it is a boon in warmer weather, it is noisy in use. We had to move the single chair to behind the door and stack the beanbag seat on it to get floor space for our medium-size dog's bed. (Obviously not a problem if you don't have a dog.) Parking was free but there aren't many spaces - we were lucky to get a space.

Fabulous place, welcoming, really clean, staff polite, and helpful, great food, dog friendly. A special mention to the ladies who clean the rooms, extremely friendly, who can't do enough for you. It's the little things that stand out, such as the extra attention to detail which makes all the difference such as an amazing outdoor area with wool blankets on all the seats for if you're feeling the chills. My favourite is the snack basket in the hallway, for if you get the munchies, a small fridge with cold drinks, such a great idea. We had a very enjoyable weekend, and we will definitely be returning 😊

A great place to stay. Comfortable modern facilities. Everything clean inside, and our room was fab with nice interior touches. Breakfast was fresh and large and the staff were helpful and friendly. We also ate in the pub in the evening and the meal was good value. Dog friendly.

Our room was located in an area where access is via the back of the kitchen. This area smells and is dirty with cigarette ends all over the place and vats of used cooking oil stored in an open outhouse. It was not pleasant to have to walk through this.

We stayed here for one night enroute to Scotland for a family get together. This is a lovely hotel and will be our stopover to Scotland every time - if available. Its a lovely quirky hotel. Our room was a small double but was absolutely ample for our one night stay and didn't seem that small compared to some hotels we've stayed at before. Room was clean and beautifully decorated with an ensuite bathroom and shower. We had dinner on the night we stayed (Sunday) - I had a roast and my husband had the fish - both were excellent. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a few drinks in the bar area and there was nothing they didn't have. I would imagine that summer at this hotel is very busy as they have lots of pods for outside dining which are also dressed to perfection. Parking was just outside the hotel which was another bonus.

We have just had a one night stay here at The Grantham Arms. It was booked by my husband for my birthday, I had no idea where we were going, all I asked for was a nice cosy pub with lovely rooms and this gorgeous place did not disappoint. The welcome on arrival from a lovely young man and lady behind the bar was so hospitable and friendly. My husband had been in contact with him before arrival for a few things, and they could not have been more accommodating. We were early so had a coffee and then waited to see the room. It was just gorgeous, so spacious, with a little hallway, fab bathroom with shower and the bedroom was spacious, all of it was spotless cleaned by the lovely housekeeping ladies we had the pleasure of chatting to on the morning of checkout. We dined there and the table had a little suprise, Happy Birthday blackboard on the table, just great. The food was gorgeous and service excellent.  We left after enjoying a very hearty full Yorkshire breakfast and the goodbye was as wonderful as the welcome. We will have no hesitation in returning, a perfect little cosy quaint pub, and not too far away. Thank you for making my birthday just perfect.

AMAZING ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It was a lovely one night stay, our room was so cosy. Bed was super comfy, sheets were crisp,towels nice and soft. Warm and super clean room. Lovely added touches Sweets Biscuits Tea and coffee facilities In hall way was a lovely selection of treats and cans of pop, honestly box for a purchase. Downstairs was soooo Cosy,warm and just so lovely. We will definitely be back but will stay longer for sure. Excellent accommodation,atmosphere and just so perfect. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The pub is unique and so cosy! It feels like a hug around you! The staff were extremely efficient and friendly. The breakfast was superb with great choice and beautiful poached eggs. Day in the pub but again, Cosy, with tables set for each resident. Really nice touch. Bed and bedding first class with warm over blanket for cold days. Lots of hot water and coffee machine and kettle provided

I really can’t fault it. The pub was really busy. It was when I went to bed and couldn’t hear a thing in my room Traffic can be heard on front of property but it’s not heavy and didn’t disturb me

everything went well, as always! Our room was really comfortable, very clean, had everything we could need, bed was amazing, we slept so well! All staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. Obviously, Joe at breakfast is the most amazing of all staff with Steve, (although we didn't see him this visit) comes a close second. Food is delicious with breakfasts being particularly delicious! We love how well cared for the whole place is...the pots outside are always so well tended, very colourful and inviting, the decor inside is uniquie and just lovely, (must be a nightmare to dust, however, it is always dust free!) the Grantham Arms is a place we return to because it is just so good!

Lovely friendly welcome by staff. We stayed one night as we did last year to break up a journey from Norfolk to Glasgow area. Love some of the quirky decor 😀 Food is excellent had both a lovely dinner in the covered garden are and a gorgeous breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was served by one of the most happy morning people ever-remember him from last year and only sorry we didn’t get his name. Thank you for getting our day off to a good start😀 It’s location is lovely hearing the river and weir nearby
