The rooms were spacious, clean, good choose of refreshments/sundries,secure and brilliant location next to the station and between the waterfront and shops etc! Bar was clean, plenty of choice, comfy seating and fair prices! Staff were helpful! 👍

Suggestions only, double beds were bit small for 2 people, the blinds let in the daylight so was awake at 5am so maybe offer eye sleep masks or blackout blinds! Expected some noise till midnight as it’s a pub but not a lot! Instructions for the coffee machine would be helpful, as no breakfast options a list of local cafe etc would be helpful and a luggage store! You could also offer a meal deal option for travellers and passers-by as no cafe at the station, just an idea prepared sandwich,snack and drink! You have a lovely inn 👍

Nice bright, comfortable and clean room. Helpful staff allowed us to leave bags before and after our stay. Perfect location right at Knaresborough train station - less than 10 mins from Harrogate. We appreciated the complementary tea, coffee and biscuits plus still & sparkling Harrogate water in the room. Enjoyed a lovely drink outside watching the world and trains go by.

Didn't realise that breakfasts are no longer available - we stayed here two years ago but ownership has since changed. One of the windows in bedroom could not be fully closed - it did not matter much because of the lovely weather but it might affect other guests. There was a slight mouldy smell in bathroom but it was clean and the shower was fine.

We arrived ten minutes early at the pub. It was a beautiful day and the pub was extremely busy with one staff member on at the bar who was very proactive and worked tirelessly to get the customers served promptly, she was still there till around 10pm I think and was still working like a trooper, sorry I didn’t get her name as she deserves a mention for how hard she worked. We were shown to our room by a lovely lady, our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a lovely big bathroom. It was quite warm due to the weather outside but they had provided a fan which was an. Added bonus. The location was fantastic within walking distance to everything. We had no complaints for our stay and would definitely stay again.

For me it’s central to go down to the river or up to the square… half way between the both… rooms are really clean and well equipped with refreshments and toiletries… this is my second visit in 5 months and sure I will return again…I would highly recommend staying at the Mitre Inn…

No dislikes.. but anyway staying need to take into account its a pub, a little background noise, but pub closes at 11 o’clock..also you are close to the rail station, which after a while you don’t notice…also you are on the 2nd floor…

A fabulous stay in the Mitre . Blind Jacks room at the back is very comfortable ! I love the view of the churchyard trees and it's resident squirrels and the church clock gentle chimes . It's a slower pace of life I could get used to ! Slept like a log ! Lovely staff who have put some energy in and reopened this wonderful place . Although breakfast isn't served it is in the pipeline I'm told . Knaresborough is a charming village of tradition with many eateries to choose from all within walking distance . Arriving by train is very convenient as the Mitre is adjacent . The trains sneak in and out without much noise though . I could go on ... Beautiful seclusion and happiness 😊 !

The person running the place singlehandedly on a busy weekend. A busy bar & residents to look after ON HER OWN! Sure this is wrong, her health & safety seriously compromised. She was brilliant but that's not the point. Room clean and presentable. Good shower.

No food? When booking the site described Food as tasty & actually being available. There is no food. . Our stay was only Good due to the sterling efforts of Lucy running the place. Some new owners called Brew York need to get to grips with their responsibilities. Seem to be running it on a shoestring.

Great location and nice room. Friendly staff. All in all a recommendable place - our difficulties were due to a very early reservation and ownership change.

We had booked a stay witk breakfast but found out only on arrival that the hotel did not at the moment serve breakfast at all due to change in ownership. So far no compensation for that. Also, we needed to leave a day earlier but could not just cut one day away from our booking - we would have needed to cancel and make a new booking with new prices that would have been higher for 3 nights than our initial reservation for 4.

The staff were lovely and very friendly. The location is perfect for a lovely walk in the beautiful village and the train station is literally outside the hotel with trains running regularly to York. The room was lovely and warm with plenty of amenities.

They wasn’t doing food in the bar on the night of our stay which I was looking forward too as I had seen a comment about the food being good but it was just after new year. We got really lucky with parking outside which is I think could be a issue during a busy season

The location is fantatsic! A few steps away from the train station and perfectly placed to explore the surrounding area. The room was lovely, spacious and nice and clean. The fact we could leave our luggage before and after check out was a big help. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The response to messages before our stay were answered promptly. I also left something of value in the room by mistake, but this was stored safely for me until i returned to collect me case.

Not being able to order food at the bar, instead having to use an online system. The option for breakfasts for staying guests would have been a nice addition to our stay.

Very convenient location. Comfortable room that was simply yet well laid out. Room was newly refurbished; adequately done. Allowed us to keep our bags there after check out till our train arrival time much later. Didn’t hear the train though located right next to it.

Just the noise from guests sitting outside the pub till midnight. Wished our room was slightly further located instead of immediately above. Toilet bowl was not cleaned sufficiently from use by previous guest. Quite a bit of dust on kettle and bedside tables. Maybe not enough staff to do as thorough a job.
