The restaurant has just five rooms. The one we stayed in was over two floors with a separate bedroom and sitting room - both very well appointed and comfortable. The is a bathroom on each floor, one with a splendid, deep, bath - the other a walk-in shower. The restaurant serves very good Italian food and has a reasonably priced, interesting wine list. Breakfast is Italian - a lovely change from the 'full English' - with interesting food and plenty of excellent coffee. The staff are all very friendly. There is on-site parking.

As is to be expected in an old building, the stairs are rather steep.

evening meal was very good and had an excellent choice of all courses. Breakfast was the best I have ever had anywhere, although not a traditional English Breakfast the choices were considerable and the quality of the food was superb, so much so we ate more than we had intended, also the quality of the tableware was exceptional, service was quick, little things such as cut glass tumblers with water and lemon, fruit juices served with ice, is not the norm. even the napkins were large and neatly folded and decorated with Valentinos name etc in such a well conceived tasteful fashion. I had steak and eggs for breakfast, which was served with rosemary focaccia bread, and was a meal in itself, steak came ready sliced, and the taste was to die for. We were served small croissants with sweet meat and cheese fillings, again superb flavours, my wife had the mushrooms, and some of my steak as there was so much of it, she also had a board of beautifully presented fruit, thick yoghurt with blueberry compote, a bowl of homemade muesli , again all superb quality and taste. Tea was in individual miniature teapots and matching cup and saucers, altogether an unexpected breakfast experience.

Very difficult to think of anything which could have been better done, I rarely find bathroom lighting suitable for wet shaving, rooms are small and there is little to hang any clothes on or space for suitcases, but considering the age and size of the building what they have achieved is remarkable.

We were greeted on arrival and shown to our room by lovely friendly staff. The room was modern,spotlessly clean with tea, coffee,fresh milk, and water in the fridge. The bed was huge,comfortable, as were the pillows. The breakfast was amazing and plentiful, with as much juice, tea, or coffee as you required. Our waiter, Liam, was a lovely, pleasant, and very polite young man a credit to Valentinos. We also had an evening meal, again, the food was delicious and plentiful with excellent, lovely attentive staff. We would highly recommend this place, and have already booked to return. 😃.

Our room overlooked the road and junction, so traffic noise started early. Obviously, nothing the hotel can do about it, but just so people are aware, if you end up at the front of the hotel.

The breakfast was excellent. Not your standard English one which made a very nice change. Glasses of water with slices of lemon and glasses of orange juice with slices of orange. A couple of pastries provided before the main breakfast - a very nice touch. The room was provided with a large fan which was appreciated during the current very hot weather. The location of Valentino's was just a very short stroll to the centre of Ripon.

The room was quite small but perfectly adequate but a busy road outside. Bathroom a very good size. Needs a hand towel rail to the right had side of the sink.

Central location with restaurants /bars close by however we ate at Valentino’s - lovely vibe, great food and well worth a visit. Breakfast was superb! Staff very friendly and welcoming both in the hotel and restaurant. Room clean, modern and lovely comfortable bed - we slept very well. We were provided with a fan in the bedroom to help with the heat - very thoughtful and did the job! On site parking was an additional bonus.

Because of the central location it could be a bit noisy due to the location on a road but this did not have any great impact on our stay. We thought our room was lovely but quite expensive for one night however, it could be used for four people and we were only two.

This is the perfect example of a privately owned place run hands on by the owners. No attention to detail is spared from the decor to the attention to cleanliness and the making you feel welcome. The breakfasts are exceptional. You are greeted with a crystal glass filled with ice cold water and a twist of lemon then a complimentary ham and a second cheese croissant followed by a cooked choice of smoked salmon with poached eggs, for other choices or muesli with fresh fruit and yoghurt. It is situated right in the centre of Ripon with free onsite parking. Our room was stylish and modern. We asked for additional coffee pods and these were provided together with extra biscotti with no problems at all I would thoroughly recommend this venue.

We stopped off for a 1 night stay en route to the Lake District. Excellent all round. Had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant & a lovely Italian breakfast in the morning. The staff were very polite & helpful. The room, although small & compact was lovely & clean & a tower fan provided. It also came with coffee/tea making facilities, a mini fridge with chilled sparkling & still water plus a small bottle of fresh milk. Complimentary Italian biscuits were also gifted to sample. We wish we could have stayed longer!

We would love to return sometime, but for a longer stay we would book a larger room. On saying that we have no complaints whatsoever about anything.

Breakfast was delicious. Served from 08:00 which is good for work travellers. Breakfast arrived with sumptuous stuffed croissants and my choice of poached eggs on focaccia with Parma ham was perfect and plentiful. The staff were efficient and friendly and a perfect level of interaction. The room was super clean and modern. Bed really comfortable along with the pillows. Good walk in shower with lots of room. And the usual teas coffees and homemade biscotti in jars was a real treat after a long drive. Also a mini fridge with fresh milk and water was much appreciated. The evening meal in the restaurant was delicious. I'll stay again when working in the area. Residents parking on site was great to find.

Nothing not to like. The picture frame smart TV was a bit high on the wall but ok to watch from the bed. If I had to be picky and if you like sitting in a lounge area at a hotel, this restaurant with rooms would not be for you. For me though it was great.

Nice friendly welcome on arrival ,the room was nice and clean modern and as expected from the time of booking. The breakfast was Italian style and absolutely lovely nothing was too much trouble and the staff were great . Evening meal in the restaurant again was lovely. I'm struggling to find fault without being petty. Would highly recommended a stay here , york is 35 mins away by car as we used this as a base . The Free onsite parking makes things easy . Would definitely return again and recommend this as a place to stay.

Only down side is the bed was to soft for me but that's absolutely my personal preference not the hotels fault.

What a lovely stay we have had here, staff so welcoming and the room was beautiful and very clean. Ideally situated right in the centre of Ripon with a place to park our car in their private carpark. After a couple of drinks at a pub across the road, we had our evening meal in the restaurant and again this was exceptional. Breakfast following morning was waiter service with a great selection of options. Cannot find any fault with this venue and would highly recommend to family and friends. When we visit Ripon again we will definitely be booking here.
