Hotel lovely, great location, very comfortable bed. Staff lovely all friendly.
The breakfast was dreadful.. when I booked it we had looked online, it shows on the menu Eggs Benedict, Eggs Royale etc.. when in fact we found it was only a small selection of cereal, fruit, ham croissants, muffins, or a buffet cooked breakfast. I asked the girl if could order like what the menu said online… she said no… It was all cold apart from the sausage…. The hash browns were so well cooked that there was no potato in them they just crumbled to scraps when tried to cut. I mentioned it to the nice young man on check out he said I could have asked for eggs Benedict … I told him I had asked . He was very apologetic and said would look into why it was all cold. The toast was nice tho, think Champion bread so we filled up on that…

Particularly impressed with the female bar staff who were excellent, very professional, friendly and helpful - above all hard working. Rather a contrast with the male bar staff who seemed to have a rather detached attitude. A highly organized hotel, very comfortable, clean, well decorated. Even USB charging socket on each of the mains plugs in our very comfortable bedroom. Hotel is very well situated, overlooking an attractive park area and within a very short walk to the cathedral.
My wife, being a lifelong Coeliac, found the hotel had a rather detached approach to the provision of gluten free food. Only a standard menu was available with scribbled indications of what items were guaranteed gluten free. On one night the staff could not even produce this menu! This is our only criticism.

We liked the location: less than a 10 minute walk from the main square, yet quiet and convenient to find. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast and evening meal options were good.
The room was hot (south facing), although two fans were provided and we kept the window and curtains closed during the day to keep the sun and heat out; we would have liked to have been able to open the window further to let in more breeze in the cooler evening, but couldn't. The bathroom extractor fan was very noisy and went on for ages (20 minutes?) after the light was witched off. When we mentioned this to reception on leaving, the member of staff said there was a way to turn it off - only this was too late for us and we wished we'd known about it earlier.

Overall it was good. Location near the center of Ripon was very good. Staff were generally very friendly and helpful. The room was recently renovated.
Insufficient and tight parking. Unfriendly departure - no “thank you” or “how was everything “ or I hope you enjoyed your stay”. The room safe was locked on arrival. When I asked for it to be opened, I was given a 6 - figure code which opened the safe. I was told that the code opened all room safes. If that is true then the room safes are not useful. I would welcome a comment from management on this. This didn’t spoil our stay but was a little unnerving.

The location being very central. Car park was of a good size also.
Perhaps the bar staff were being rushed but no excuse for how they treated their Customers!! I ordered a cold sweet to end my evening meal only to be asked Are you prepared to wait 45 minutes"?? Obviously a problem with kitchen staff but to expect a reasonable reply would be dreaming!! I also witness an unhappy customer returning his salad due to the colour of the Lettuce wasn't reassuring either. Nevertheless the remaining staff were all excellent although I didn't have evening meal my second night in case of a repeat! These events to a high costing hotel was an eye opener I may say also!

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay in room 54 it was small but had everything we needed the bathrooms and rooms are tastefully decorated, modern spotlessly clean and nice finishing touches. There was a fan which we needed because the weather was so very warm. It has a beautiful well kept massive beer garden and terrace with plenty of seating. We had lunch in the bar, which was delicious and can well recommend. The breakfast which was included in our stay was beautiful and plenty of choice. We parked up easily in the hotel car park but our stay was Sunday/Monday so can’t say what the other days of the weekend would be like ! The hotel is about 10/15 mins walk from the center of Ripon

The room was lovely, very spacious, the bed was massive and very comfortable The shower room was very well appointed. Everything was very clean, it would appear that the hotel had not long since been refurbished. The room had everything including a fan, iron and ironing board and a well stocked refreshment tray.
The lift was very slow and noisy, it actually felt as if it was going to break down while we were using it so we only used it once and used the stairs after that. We had a meal on the second night which was OK but nothing special, the mushy peas were dry and tasteless to be honest and were presented in a tiny dish.

We had a corner room that was very spacious with a large bathroom. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. In the bathroom the towels were soft and fluffy so no complaints at all on our room.
We had booked a table online for dinner and that turned out to be a big mistake. There is no separate dining area but that was not too much of a problem. However, there was no atmosphere in the bar and although the menu stated Sunday Menu of a roast, this seemingly finished at 4pm. There was a separate “specials” menu but the lasagne was finished. Although the food that we had was edible it was not of a good standard and poorly presented and not worth the money. I would not hesitate to stop over there again but would go into town to eat.

Ideal location both for the city itself and places of interest in north Yorkshire. The hotel had been refurbished to a good standard. The grounds were lovely. All the staff we met were friendly, helpful and efficient. Lovely view from the room.
It was rather expensive for what was offered; at an average of a little under £200 per night, I would have expected a served breakfast rather than a buffet which ran short at times .The room was hot, being in the roof with direct sun; the fan helped a lot but it was only May and would have been very hot in summer.

The Ripon Inn is a conveniently short walk from the centre of the city and has on-site parking. The facilities were good, the staff friendly and helpful and a good breakfast was provided. I liked that they provided a free drink in return for not requiring my room to be cleaned every day - it is good that they make such a gesture in return for customers' wishing to make a small contribution towards protecting the environment.
The B&B rate wasn't cheap given that Ripon is not a big city but this is a relatively minor quibble in what was a very pleasant weekend stay.
