Our particular room was spacious, well equipped, very clean and to our taste. The breakfast and its various options were very well cooked and of very good ingredients. The only downside was that one of us was gluten free and if you requested a full cooked breakfast they omitted the sausage and black pudding rather than have g/f alternatives. That said each morning a request for gluten free toast was met. We were going to book in for evening meals, but as one of us was gluten free we were unsure whether they could cater for us, i.e., omit items rather than replace them with g/f alternatives (see breakfast comment)

A very comfortable stay at the Beverley Arms Hotel. Our room, with an outside balcony, was spacious and clean. The bathroom with a rain shower head was superb, although the bathroom could do with some shelves for personal items (a minor niggle tho'). The breakfast menu was impressive and delicious. We really enjoyed the evening meals but we were surprised the choice of meals on the menu didn't change during our four night break. The staff were all super friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. The location in the town centre (with parking) is a huge bonus. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

A couple of things worth a mention but wouldn't put us off staying....the carpet in our room could do with a clean, the decor is beautiful but the carpet/flooring needs some TLC. The fabric seating in the restaurant also needs cleaning.

Everything was 1st class from entering the hotel for our 2 nights stay to leaving. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and special mention must be given to Lisa who served us at breakfast. Her smile and service to the guests was so memorable and she made us feel like we were her friends. We chose not to have our room serviced overnight and because of this the service team kindly provided extra tea bags, biscuits etc. The White Company toiletries are provided in the bathroom and the option to buy the products when leaving was a nice touch and much appreciated.

My comments are perhaps coloured by my having just stayed at a 5 star hotel abroad, however the hotel displays a sign saying 5 stars so it is a fair comparison Limited choice at breakfast - not much choice of fruit, no meats and cheeses or vegetables, no nuts or seeds Disappointed that a "5 star" hotel was unable to accomodate an extra guest at breakfast. Good thing I didn't plan any business meetings. In the end we had to forego the breakfast we had paid for and meet our guest at a local restaurant Unhappy to be told, when advising staff that a non electric car was parked in a charging spot, that the spaces were not reserved for Electric vehicles despite a sign clearly saying "EV only"

The Beverley arms is a beautiful old hotel in the middleof Beverley which is a gem of a market town with parking for guests which is always a bonus. The staff are without exception extremely friendly, a proper Yorkshire welcome. The location couldn't be better, walking distance to the town centre and the Westwood and lots of other attractions. It has a fabulous dining room and bar area with lovely outside seating at the back of the hotel. The rooms are small, it is an old hotel, but very clean and comfortable with excellent bathrooms. We stayed for breakfast which my husband said was the best hotel breakfast he had ever eaten.

The restaurant was very disappointing. A very long wait for food at dinner, and then 2 of us had to return our chicken meals, which were dry, tasteless, and lacked items mentioned in the menu. Staff handled this well and removed the items from our bill, but it did mean the meal was a letdown. At breakfast, 2 of us ordered poached eggs, specifically asking for lightly poached. All 4 eggs were rock-hard, no runny yolks. A pretty basic error for a breakfast chef. Staff apologised and replaced the food. Our room was £290 for 1 night b and b so I'd expected more from the restaurant.

An exceptionally comfortable room with all we could need. All the staff were friendly,yet professional - we felt that they really wanted to make our stay the best it could be. We were particularly impressed with the housekeeping team. One day, we put the 'please make up room' sign on the door of our terrace room It blew off in the wind so that it showed 'do not disturb' When we returned, we found a carrier bag full of supplies of tea, coffee etc with a note saying that they didn't want us to run out of anything. We have never had such consideration ever before, no matter how much we paid for a room.

We thought the food in the restaurant was expensive . There are very few options for starters but service as elsewhere was still superb.

Staff all very helpful and friendly. Didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but breakfast was very good. Carrot and parsnip soup at lunchtime was delicious. Room decor lovely. Efficient fan in the room was very welcome.

Unfortunately the shower in our room leaked onto the bathroom floor which was flooded then leaked out onto the carpet. However, within 5 mins of reporting it we were given extra towels and on explaining that it was flooded, a plumber appeared within another 5 mins who used a tool to clear the drain and then mopped up all the water. We were impressed at how quickly it was sorted.

We liked everything- the reception staff were warm, friendly and professional. We loved our room, it had extra space for our luggage, for setting up the iron and tea/coffee facility trolley and two comfortable armchairs near the window. the whole hotel was beautifully presented, attention to detail with art, tasteful furnishing and comfortable furniture. We had two evening meals and breakfasts, which were delicious and beautifully presented, with abundance of fresh fruits, yogurts and cooked meals. The dining area was a delight to sit in for all meals. What can I say about the staff, except they were professional, with a very friendly warm and respectful manner.

Just perhaps more information about the parking and access for new guests. And perhaps some clearer signage for the location of the rooms, ( we found it a little challenging) and the access of the lift for the carpark area.

Our room looked straight on to the nearby church which was lovely to look out onto. Although the room was small (small double) it had everything that we needed and some nice extra touches like a sleep mask and pillow spray. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection on the menu. The market was on our doorstep and there was plenty of variety.

We could have done with a little bit more shelving, for toiletries, etc. The room didn't have much surface storage and what was there already had lamps and tea / coffee making facilities on.
