This is motel style accommodation adjacent to the Plough Inn Chinese restaurant. There is a large car park with spaces outside the rooms. Quiet spot in ideal location for exploring the Yorkshire coast and York area. Host was extremely friendly and helpful. It was very hot during our visit and the host provided us with a fan and bottles of water for each day. Ate in the restaurant on one night and the Chinese meal was excellent. Breakfast was a simple continental style meal with cereals, fruit, yoghurts, ham, cheese and toast. The room was clean and comfortable with good facilities.

A Wonderful Stay at The Plough Inn We had an amazing experience at The Plough Inn during our trip to York. We stayed for one night and couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. The room was exceptionally clean, tidy, and well-equipped with everything needed for a short stay. The on-site Chinese restaurant is truly outstanding—some of the best food we’ve ever had! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful. A special mention to the lady owner, who was exceptionally warm, friendly, and welcoming—always with a smile. The inn is very quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we slept so well. Overall, everything was perfect, and we would highly recommend The Plough Inn to anyone visiting the area.

Mrs Choo is a perfect host, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast selection is very good, cereals, fresh fruits, meat, cheese, yogurts and hot food is available. Everywhere is spotless and clean and beds are comfortable, especially for my bad back. The Chinese restaurant within the hotel is excellent, maybe the best I have tried.

The only thing is the overhead rain showers in the bathroom need some attention as they aren’t very powerful, maybe need descaling, as the second wall shower head is very good.

Staff every friendly, especially the owner. Room clean and tidy with lots of toiletries for us all. Chinese restaurant attached to the property the food was delicious (hot and sour soup a bit too spicy for us) but everything else was lovely and at a reasonable price. Max the waiter was a very pleasant young man, nothing was too much trouble for him. Great worker and an asset to the team.

Lighting in the room needed to be brighter. But not a major issue as we only stayed one night.

Everything was fantastic! Absolutely everything you need and more . Exceptionally clean . The host was great and helped with everything we asked for and more . Over the last few years I’ve stayed in hundreds of properties and have to say this is probably one of the best if not the best I’ve ever rented . There’s a Chinese restaurant next to the hotel which is also great so definitely worth a visit . Exceptional !

This place was an exceptional find. Will definitely return. The owner Mrs Chu, such a lovely lady, herself & the staff go above and beyond to look after you during your stay and nothing is a problem. The added bonus is the beautiful Chinese restaurant on site which I have to say the food was outstanding..

The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The lady owner was very friendly and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Breakfast as enjoyable and our evening meal was very enjoyable and reasonably priced. Overall an enjoyable visit and we would certainly visit again.

Stayed for 2 nights on a weekend trip to York. Great location, ideal for the park and ride. Owner was very friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. Ate in the onsite restaurant (Chinese) on the first night, food was lovely, and the service top notch. Rooms clean and comfortable, with a good breakfast included... Wouldn't hesitate to stay again

The Plough Inn is easily located on the main road between York and Beverley and is well away from thd main road and very quiet. Parking is plentiful. We were warmly welcomed and our room was very comfortable and easily warmed on a very chilly July day. We has zn excellent Chinese meal in thd restaurant where the service and food were excellent.

There is nothing not to like.

Breakfast was ok a varied choice was available and the owner went out of her way to accommodate us.The Chinese restaurant was very good, food was very tasty and served quickly staff were good too.

The bed was too soft and the heater was not working in the bathroom we only stayed one night so it was not a big issue.
