Lynne was lovely and looked after us well. Advised us on local bus route which we appreciated. Beds were very comfortable and facilities topped up. Room was quiet and clean. Breakfast was well catered for for my friend but my vegan options were limited, but this didn't affect my stay. Would recommend this lovely B&B for a quiet, comfortable stay away from the hustle and bustle but excellent bus route access to town. Thanks Lynne. Dawn

I didn't really feel it was an issue, but as a vegan, I would have liked more options for breakfast. Lynne did buy soya milk but I took my own butter for toast. Just maybe something to be aware of if you have specific dietary requirements. However, like I said, it was no big deal just a note to mention.

The B&B was very comfortable both in the dining room where there was plenty of space and in the bedroom. The bed was lovely and comfortable and we both slept very well. Lynne was very friendly and knowledgeable and she had a list of pubs and restaurants in the area that she recommends. We went to the first one on the list, Gold Cup Inn, in Catton, and it was so good and friendly that we went there four nights out of five. The Yorkrose is very well placed for both York and the coast and for getting everywhere we wanted to go. We had a full English breakfast every morning and it was cooked to perfection 😋 We could not recommend it highly enough

The B&B was easy to find and extremely conveniently located for us to visit friends and relatives. Although situated on busy main road, whose occasional heavy lorries made building shake in morning, we found our sleep undisturbed and actually quite peaceful! Breakfast was good "full English" if you wanted. "Operator error" of shower was very promptly attended to, including calling out of plumber. Just need to press that button harder.... Host is very friendly and accomodating. The free onsite parking was very useful.

Nothing really. We stayed for three nights. For longer periods a larger room with a bit more storage would have been good.

The room was well presented, very clean and smelt fresh. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. When getting ready in the morning, I like to sit in front of a mirror and use my hair tools which I was able to do if l unplugged the TV. I find this difficult at most chain hotels, so this was a plus point for me. The blackout blind and thick curtains were effective at keeping the room dark during the night and probably reduced the road noise. Lynne, the host was very friendly and accommodating with regard to check in. Breakfast was plentiful and perfectly cooked. I'm sure we will be back.

Minor points which didn't really affect us - apart from hand wash, there were no toiletries provided (we had brought our own). The B&B is on a main road and our room was on the front of the building, so there was a bit of road noise, but not enough to bother us.

Location was out of the hustle and bustle of York itself. Location is on a bus route which Lynne gave us all the information for which was extremely helpful. Lynne was lovely and welcoming when we arrived and let us know about our room, local places to eat, bus routes and times for breakfast and our preferences were taken into consideration for breakfast. Room was just what we had booked and very comfortable for our two night stay. Breakfast both days was lovely with a selection of cereals, cooked breakfast, preserves for toast, orange juice and tea and coffee available. Selection of hot drinks were also available in the room throughout our stay. Leaflets of places to visit at hand in the lobby area and Lynne took an interest in where we had been the day before each morning and even let us know other places we could visit. The set of heartbeat was a wonderful childhood memory unlocked for me so thank you! TV available in the room, shower worked well with towels available. We took our own shower gels etc but there was some travel bottles available in the lobby which we noticed if needed. The rooms were lovely and warm for this time of year with thick duvets much appreciated! Thank you Lynne for a wonderful stay and we hope to stay again in the future when we come back to do some bits we didn't get the chance to see!

It is a bit out of York but a lovely location. The room was small but had all you needed. There was a fan in the room so that helped. The beds were comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was lovely, cereal, toasts with spreads, saus, bacon, egg, mushrooms, baked beans and tomatoes. Orange juice, tea, coffee and plenty of it. The host was very friendly and helpful. She gave us a list of local places to eat for dinner. We went to a pub and had a wonderful feed. I would highly recommend this place 👌

A very homely vibe, breakfast was beautifully cooked, we was asked on arrival what we would like and cooked breakfast was ready on our chosen time , our check in time was amended for our conviemience and lynne was their to greet us, our host made sure everything was perfect, with directions and instructions written down for the local bus stop into york, to making sure we had fresh milk for our room, everything was clean and the room itself was homely. Lynne was very helpful and very friendly we really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you for making us feel very welcome we would definetly stay again!

Very welcoming and homely. Lovely room with tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided. Bathroom was clean. Bed was comfy. A fan was provided due to the heat and I was able to charge my EV.

If you’re on the taller side (6 foot or over) an upstairs room may not be the best option due to the ceiling design, especially in the bathroom by the sink and toilet. However this is not a negative at all, just something to keep in mind when booking.

Very friendly, helpful owner, Lynne, made us very welcome. Free parking, excelelnt breakfast, bus stop just outside, easy access into York. Nice touch with fresh milk on the room. Fantastic huge TV, soft bath tpwels, very brightly lit room.

Too close to ta very busy main road- noisy traffic could be heard most of the time.. Foam filled pilows not a favourite as they tend to make you sweat at night. Auto fan in bathroom when switching light on getting up in the night.

Breakfast was very good. Nice size room. Comfortable bed. Easy check in and good location if visiting York and surrounding area. Nice places to eat and only few minutes drive away.

Located on main road between York and Hull means traffic going past through out the visit. Large vehicles can be felt and heard going past as windows open due to hot weather. Other rooms available to rear of property.
