The Victoria had warm, welcoming staff. The food cooked by Tim was nice (we had tea & breakfast) and presented very well. We were able to have a beer when we returned from the gig. Excellent location less than 5 minutes walk away from the Barbican. The room was mostly clean although there were some marks/stains near the shower plug if I was being picky. Clean towels & toiletries were provided. The Victoria has its own car park for residents. We would stay here again. 😊

The bedroom was very warm even with the window open (I appreciate there’s limited space & they can’t control the weather!). I thought it was a bit expensive and you had to pay extra for the breakfast but I’m not familiar with the prices in York.

Went for a weekend away for Easter with my husband to have some time together as we are a busy working mum and dad. We cannot say enough great things about this place! Room is immaculate and spotlessly clean, in-fact the whole upstairs just smelt really fresh and clean! Bed was so comfy! Room was perfect for the two of us. The pub was lovely, we spent one of our evenings there and had a great night! I don’t usually drink that much but I got a little drunk haha and had the best time! Breakfast was included in our booking and it was delicious! We’ve stayed in York a few times but never here, this was the best place we’ve stayed and we won’t be staying any where else! We will be coming back in the near future if you’ll have us!! Lovely couple running it all. Like I said, just can’t fault it. Worst part about it was having to come home haha! Thank you for a great stay we honestly loved it!!! See you soon 100 percent!!

Very comfortable, clean room. Plenty of space for a single guest. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided which was nice. Despite the rooms being above a pub there wasn't any noise coming from there. The location is great for Barbican, only 5-10 minute walk.

Unfortunately, the room was on a busy junction which made it quite noisy, perhaps very heavy curtains would help to dull this.

Hello I was staying at the Victoria pub B&B as I was attending my nephew's wedding at York's register office in bootham, as the wedding was at 2pm ,The landlord Tim was very helpful in letting me check in early and he even went out of his way and personally drive me to the venue as I was going to book a 🚕 taxi,couldn't fault the hospitality shown and the next morning breakfast was first class ,would definitely recommend staying here again

Location brilliant very close to the Barbican Walking distance to city centre only minutes, the breakfast was huge with lots of different items too much for our appetite shame we had to leave some

It was everything we wanted and expected we were happy to be there and the staff were brilliant and very approachable with lots of information of places to go we stayed for 4 nights and was asked on numerous occasions if we wanted or needed in the room wil definitely look to stay there again if it’s available

I took a single room, with a bathroom and it had everything I needed for a cosy stay. The street is quiet at night so I had a good night's sleep. I unfortunately arrived later than expected to check in so could not book breakfast, but I was up and out early anyway so could grab a bite on the way into town. The hostess was very pleasant and helpful - thank you for your assistance!

The wifi in my room didn't work, but I arrived late in the evening and was asleep shortly after that so it was no bother. Might be worth checking the connectivity in that part of the building.

Great location, great staff and I have to say, the breakfast was great! Not only that, they even have breakfast bap take away options if you're in a rush, what a top idea!

My only comment would be wi-fi could have been better, other than that, zero complaints.

Excellent location for exploring York, especially if visiting the Barbican. The team were very friendly and helpful. The rooms was very comfy and spacious, with tea and coffee making facilities. Nice clean soft towels, complimentary toiletries, convenient coat hangers, food menu for the bar / restaurant downstairs and a very informative guide book of York. We would definitely stay here again.

Arrived and parked car then checked in , which was quick and easy , I was staying in room 5 ( single room ) it was spotless and well presented. Breakfast on both days was fantastic , the pub below the accommodation is traditional and full of character , cannot fault anything as staff were so helpful and friendly , nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making my short visit to York really enjoyable. Wish you all the very best

No complaints at all

The staff were lovely and room very comfortable and clean. Excellent location with free parking just what we required for our stay.

There was a green light security light in the ceiling which was quite bright and kept us awake and the shower pressure was very low but understand that may have been temporary problem caused by a one off leak before we arrived. There was a band on in the pub which was noisy in the room until closing time but only to be expected if you stay above a pub!
