Easily accessible and great polite, friendly staff.

Loud children in the bar at 11pm running around. Also I asked for a wine menu/price list and told they did not have one available. I went for a house white then shocked when I later went to pay and told it was £40. This was far more than I would have been happy to pay. On arrival, the room was cold so I asked if the heating could be checked. I was told they would check it and if an issue, they would provide some portable heating. This was not checked or provided as promised.

Great staff couldn't do enough for you

Got a glass of proseco from the bar £12.00 and it was half full took it back to the staff who were very nice but said its measured suggests sort measures out scandalous been in hotels you get a free proseco on arrival

Rooms clean, bed comfortable lovely staff.

Food quality has gone really down and over priced, never had a bad meal until our recent stay and they made the staff take off her service charge (which was optional anyway) when we complained. Spent £80 on three drinks, two starters which were supposed to charcuterie board but was just cheap Salami and 5 slices of pickled cucumber. A pizza and chips, salad and chips which were burnt on top. We feed back about the food and got complimentary breakfast which is a bonus but wasn't the point in feedback. Really gutted as had good food here previously. Pillows are too soft they gave us neck ache, just go down to nothing when lying one them.

Great location, very central to city centre. Staff friendly and helpful. , offered plenty of recommendations for things to do with the kids. Bathroom equipped with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, and body lotion. Pump wasn't working on shower gel and staff fixed it straight away. We were very lucky and had great view of the castle.

Room was a bit warm and we struggled to change the temp on the controls. If I'd been staying any longer I would have asked staff to help. Also a low humming noise in room, noticeable at night when trying to sleep.

The main entrance was directly opposite Clifford's Tower, providing a beautiful view during breakfast. The breakfast itself was amazing, with countless options, a delicious hot food counter, and the staff was very polite and friendly. Room 208 was the perfect size for our family of four. We also appreciated having a small fridge in the room, which we requested during the booking process. Excellent wifi.

My daughter would like more pressure in the shower. I found the £30 valet parking fee quite expensive; however, considering the location, it was about the same price as the public parking nearby.

The location was very nice and quiet, the bed was very comfortable , nice bedding. The bar area was very inviting with pleasant staff. The hotel front entrance was very pleasing.

The room was not what we expected, the view could have been better instead of facing the street. We were not happy regarding the bathroom, we believe it needs a update due to stains on the side of the bath. I was in need of a bath, after a long journey. The water was not hot enough, also when I tried to let the water out, the waste did not work, my husband had to dig his nails into the plug area for the water to go down. I could not have done this, I do not think a women should do it. especially when you need to relax. The sink was the same. My husband also said the water was not hot when he had a shower. I do believe the bathroom needs a update.

The location is ideal especially for those who cannot walk too far. All of the attractions- the Shambles, the Viking museum, river cruises, etc.,are within 2 minutes walking distance. The hotel has beautiful surrounding scenery. The reception staff are welcoming and friendly without being over the top. The hotel is very clean and there are disabled car park spaces across the road. There is also a council controlled car park opposite where you can pay daily for your stay.

When I booked I asked if there was any parking at the hotel and was told there were limited spaces-first come, first served. I could not see where these spaces were- I could only see the disabled ones opposite or the valet parking.

Location was perfect, really loved the view of Cliffords Tower from the window. It also made it lovely and quiet of an evening, no noise of traffic or party people

I know we needed the sofa bed out for my daughter, but it meant that the whole room was basically taken up as it was out constantly, not put away by housekeeping as requested, so my husband had to sit on it and try and work at the desk as the chair would not fit in front of the desk. We did not want to risk breaking it or not being able to get it back out again so just left it as the bed the whole time.

Many things. Regarding hotel meals we had only a breakfast tariff. The food was well prepared food, plenty of choice, and no limit on quantity! Helpful staff. Table clearance very efficient, speedy and unobtrusive, in a light and airy dining room. The hotel staff were courteous and extremely helpful, and made us feel welcome. We were able to leave our luggage in the hotel before our check-in time, which was extremely convenient. No complaints. A car park was opposite the hotel. "Locationwise" if there is such a word, the hotel is ideally situated opposite Clifford's Tower. Very well-placed for city shops and other amenities. Our room was at the back, with a disappointing view, but it was quiet, which is what we like.

I should have haggled the price lower! I'm too honest.
