Lovely hotel. Absolutely spotless. Don't think I've ever been in a cleaner hotel. Our room was the same. Everything looked brand new. Breakfast was very nice. Great choice.

Parking is a bit of a problem. Although the Q-Park is not very far, we parked in the Shambles, it could be a bit of a burden carrying bags if you are elderly. I decided to bring the car around to the hotel when leaving as the walk is up hill and it would have been hard, especially as the weather was very warm. Also the building works next door is not a very good sight. I am sure when it is completed, a car park would be nice, it will look a lot nicer. The building facing the entrance, with the containers/bars, looks a bit drab. Some murals would be nice. Perhaps depicting the sights of York. Just a thought.

Couldn't fault it. Lovely stay, would go again. Our room top floor 5th, by the lift, was quiet. Big comfortable beds, good space to the air-conditioned room which was easy to operate to turn down fan/or turn up heat. Easy to use safe, provided in room draw. Also an iron and a hairdryer. Lovely, large, very clean walk in shower, ensuite. Very good selection to breakfast, in a relaxed atmosphere lay out, some soft chairs, and T.V. near foyer. Option to make your own waffle in waffle fryer. Large window with great view of Mot n Bailey castle at the back of restaurant. Good security up to the rooms operated by your room key card. Saw there was a sign on ground floor for a gym, but we did not use. Nice staff.

Everything was amazing but the customer service at the reception is the best ever – it is first class, especially Steve & Kate from the reception team. They could not do more to help us enjoy our stay and make it unforgettable. It is an extremely clean, beautiful, comfortable and luxurious hotel, we had such a great time, can't wait to visit again soon! The location is very convenient and the reception staff book a restaurant of your choice for you to make it a 5 star experience. They provide good recommendations for food, shopping and sightseeing. A perfect and relaxing place to have a holiday! Truly recommended!

Fairly modern hotel. 10 minutes walk from York railway station. (or take the bus). Nice size rooms. Super clean. Quiet location. NB. this is the Hampton Hilton on Picadilly Road. There is another Hampton Hilton near the busy railway station. Good breakfast with plenty of room in dining area and relaxed atmosphere. Within easy 10 min walk to town centre, the Shambles, York Town walls, York Minster, Jorvik viking centre.

A minor thing but a card next to the control switch saying how to use central heating and A/C would have been useful.

Excellent location! Everything for York centre was within walking distance. Good, clean, comfortable and pleasant hotel. Nice sized rooms with all that was needed. Staff very friendly and accommodating. We were a family of four and because of the age of our boys we needed two twin bedded rooms. Our rooms were right next to each other, so we were not separated as a family which was fantastic.

In our room you could hear the people above walking about. My husband and other son didn’t experience this though. I think it’s just how it is sometimes. There was no noise transfer from the rooms next door or opposite though, only from above. It can’t be helped and is expected to a certain extent. I think the best option would be to request a room on the top floor, if you are able. Breakfast was very busy between 9-10am, but this was highlighted by the staff. It absolutely didn’t cause a problem though as the staff were working very hard ensuring tables were cleaned, there was plenty of food and clean cutlery, crockery for all.

The hotel was in a fantastic location within walking distance . All staff were very polite & friendly Hotel very clean.

The breakfast was sometimes not as warm as it could be. I found there wasn’t much choice for vegetarian there was only scrambled egg, baked beans , tomatoes & some cube potatoes that were over cooked. Might be good to have more eggs like fried or poached & mushrooms. Sofa bed was hard that my daughter used. Could do with an extra duvet to lie on or mattress topper just where the ridge is. We did mention it to reception but the housekeeping may not have had any spare bedding to use.

The staff were so accommodating. I was travelling solo and wanted to go on day trips using local buses. I had no knowledge of the buses and the reception staff went above and beyond researching routes and payment methods for me. The bedroom was extremely comfortable and I loved there was a seating area in the room. The WiFi was brilliant, the breakfast filled a hole. The hotel is located very close to the city centre and there are leaflets in the reception area with local attractions.

There is room for improvement with the breakfast, the hash browns could be crispier and the beans looked as if they’d been out a while.

We have stayed at your other hotel in York many times on our visits to York from Derby, but the Piccadilly premises were far superior! The rooms were very comfortable and very clean, both in the bedroom and the bathroom. Your housekeeping team are an asset to the hotel. The young man who greeted us in reception was polite and welcoming. We thought the selection of breakfast food offered was excellent and the cleanliness was of a very high standard. The seating areas for breakfast were extremely comfortable to the point of being luxurious compared to most hotels dining areas, which are basically furnished and often dirty.

Going home and the extortionate cost of the car parking in the nearest car park which for 3 days cost a ridiculous amount of £107!! We were not offered any reduction car parking ticket which some hotels offer but balance that with 'complimentary breakfast' included and you cant really complain!

Hotel really good But however beds were ridiculously low for guests especially with mobility problems even without it was still struggle to get in and out of them although when you were in them, they were very comfortable And an absolute nightmare for staff to make up would have to be on their knees to make it up something that seriously needs to be looked at as soon as possible from a staff point of view apart from that hotel was really good very clean great location staff very helpful pleasant would want you to come back because of their friendly lesson helpfulness

The room was modern, clean and quiet, with comfortable beds. The shower room was clean and smart. The staff were friendly and helpful, and check in and out were efficient. There was an outside terrace which was nice in the hot weather.

For a good hotel, with otherwise good facilities it is disappointing that the tea/coffee facilities are so basic. There were only sachets of coffee and breakfast teas. At the price you pay for this it would surely not be too hard for them to have a selection of fruit teas etc. and a couple of hot chocolates, with a couple of biscuits also. There was a fridge with nothing in - a bottle of water would have been welcome and all of these little additions would cost little but provide a much better experience.
