Everything in our room you could need, we're just used to a king-size bed so double was a bit more confined for us but was ok, TV could of been bigger for room, my husband had to wear his glasses to see it properly but hey- ho. Tea /coffee making facilities were all on tap there in trays in hallway just take what you want+ loo roll, so that was very good. The week we stayed they weren't doing breakfast which was fine, we didn't meet manager just young man who was a student booked us in very friendly and polite, when we saw other staff cleaning rooms they all said hello. Would recommend 😁

TV too small

Room spacious and clean. We had a double and single bed. Parking available in front of house. We check out at 10am but was allowed to leave our car in the parking lot while we walked into city center to spend the whole morning until we leave York at 3pm. Very close to city center, we walked and it took us less than half hour. Proprietor very welcoming and helpful as well as knowledgeable. Gave us plenty of information of how to walk or take buses into York center. We would definitely recommend this place even though we only spent a night.

It's a beautifully kept cozy Yorkshire home. Not too far from the centre of York, even if you were to walk is idyllic setting you up what else to expect of the county. The owner was accommodating because I said be late for check in, but made it in time. Quiet comfy place to rest as I had to go to work after a long drive.

Moths (clothes) in the room- pesky things! Haha! Wasn't that I didn't like it, more of the chance others need to be aware that if you are driving and the place is fully booked, parking can be at a premium. The side road was safe - to park a van!

Very cute room, quaint furnishings, nice windows, the whole house has early 20c atmosphere. Tidying happens daily, plenty access to tea and instant coffee. Very nice common room with two sofas and board games.

Access to basic kitchen facilities would be nice as it is in very residential neighborhood with supermarkets. For instance fridge, microwave, utensils, etc. It is not advertised as having these, so one cannot hold it against property, but given location and wonderful cleanly conditions it might make sense to add a few of these to common room.

A spacious, comfortable room with a super-comfy bed. The location is excellent, with the centre of York reached via a very pleasant walk along the river. The host was helpful, friendly, and informative, and having parking was really handy. Overall exactly what was required for my trip.

The room was clean, which is always my main concern, but also showing a lot of signs of wear. The taps in the bathroom and the loo kept running, and I had to keep going back to check on them. But it was nothing that affected the stay.

Firstly had very good car park space. Room was available as soon as I got there at 8.45am better than 4pm time. Very good security at the main door with a yale code lock. There was tea coffee milk available with kettle so very helpful after long day. I noticed that the man who was there was helpful in telling me how to get into town on which bus and how faw the town is from the hotel. I noticed the hotel was very clean fresh smell My room on the start 2nd day the bed was made things folded was a nice feeling.

It was very convenient for getting into York. The host was very helpful, our room was comfortable and breakfast was lovely. Free parking on site which is a bonus, although it was a bit tight if you came in late

The room although comfortable was a bit tired looking, with what appeared to be mold on the ceiling in one corner. The en-suite was small and the shower had a plastic curtain which meant it leaked onto the floor. We arrived on Thursday but where told there would be no breakfast available. Ended up in a great little cafe called Sunny's just down the road

The dining room was lovely and bright and clean. The proprietor was friendly and informative. The breakfast was delicious. Hugo was adorable

The room was at the top of the house so impossible for my husband to stand up. I had trouble getting into the bed because of the eves. I think the room would be better served as a single. The reception area’s were lovely and bright. The bedrooms were tired and need updating. On first impression you get a feeling of dingy, but on closer look you can see that the cleanliness is impeccable, which would not be easy for such an old building.

Paul who owns Midway Guest House is very friendly and welcoming. As other reviews mention, he makes a great full English breakfast! Our stay at Midway was pleasant and met our expectations. We liked that our room had character and was well presented. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again!

Breakfast was listed as included on the booking but we then had to pay an additional cost on arrival because this wasn’t the case.

The Guest House was well situated within walking distance of York city Centre. if you are less energetic there is a Number 7 Bus stop right opposite the guest house which takes you right into the City Centre. although no Food was included in this stay there is Sunny's Café and sandwich bar 9 minutes walk from the Guest house on Fulford Road. If you want an evening meal the bus takes you right into the City Centre with plenty of Choice's for food. The room was well heated and comfy. If I ever Stay in York again I will consider this my port of call for Accommodation

Although I could not get the TV in the room to work this did not spoil my stay as I made do with alternative arrangements
