Very good value for money. There was a number to call on arrival and the lady at the end of the phone was very helpful and talked us through accessing the room. Good tea and coffee facilities (with biscuits). Very clean. Spacious room with comfortable beds. We would definitely revisit. Thank you.

The place had excellent location for those wishing to avoid the rush of city center. It was located in a calm and traditional English neighborhood with nice selection of little shops and cafés, and a great pub literally right across the street. And yet, one could walk into city center in less than 15 minutes or take a bus from the stop almost next to the entrance. The room itself was also clean and comfortable.

Check-in was a nightmare after a long day of travelling. There was no reception and the code given to me did not open the main door. I had to call their customer service just to check in, luckily the lady on the other end was extremely helpful. The room was also relatively hot, although that was probably due to the almost +30 Celsius temperatures outside.

This was a great place to stay, on arrival staff were really friendly, communication from staff was great, the room was clean and comfortable, there was a little fridge in the room, which was great for keeping the bottles of water provided by the host cold (this was a nice touch) especially due to the recent warm weather. The location is great, its a little out the way but walking distance to the city centre, and there is a nice walk you can do into the city centre that takes you over the millennium bridge and along the foot path along the river, we didn't need to park as got the train but the hosts did ask about this as a permit is needed, again very helpful had we been driving. Great value! Really good tea and coffee facilities too.

Nothing! We were out most of the day after checking in due to going to a gig, it was perfect for us.

I had a great stay at a hotel in York and was very pleased with almost everything. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and had everything I needed for a comfortable visit. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect – close to everything I wanted to see. The room came with a kettle, a hairdryer, cookies, a fan, and a TV with Netflix, which was a great bonus. I also appreciated that the window could be opened for fresh air. Late check-out was available too, which made my departure much more relaxed. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay, and I’d definitely come back!

The location was great! It's very close to the beautiful park&playground so kids can have a play too. 10 min to get to the central of York and 3 min to yummy bakery and cafes. Nice kitchen downstairs. However, I didn't know I could use it until the last evening. Heating is available in the bedroom, which was a bonus when we stayed as it was very cold.

Small room and quite packed with a lot of furniture. No one really needs that. It is only for short stays if you are with kids as everyone is in one small room. There was a really bad smell in the hallway! I think someone was vaping.

Nice room, I really appreciated the extras, hot drinks bottles of water, toiletries. I especially appreciated the fan and mini fridge in this hot weather. I travel a lot and would definitely re book. Super clean and nice bedding.

Just minor things. The mattress on the bed could do with changing soon. It was comfortable and I slept well but in places you can feel the springs. Toilet seat lid drops when you sit on the toilet, needs a simple adjustment.

The self check-in service was completely straightforward and was a smooth process taking a matter of minutes. The communication beforehand was really good, ensuring that everything was in place for our arrival. The room (which was on the ground floor) and bathroom were clean which I was pleased about and the bed was comfortable. The window wasn't well soundproofed so you could hear outside traffic but it is on what I think is a main road so it's to be expected and, to be fair, the noise of traffic quietened down soon after it got dark so it wasn't a major issue at all. Plenty of towels provided which was great and there was a soft bench and dresser available which was also nice. The bed was comfortable so me and my 8-year old son (we shared a double bed) slept well. The complimentary tea/coffee, sugar and two bottles of water alongside complimentary shower gel and shampoo & conditioner was a nice addition. My only gripe is that there is no charging socket near the bed so you have to use either the socket behind the wardrobe or a socket on the extension lead near the dresser. But that certainly wouldn't stop me from staying with Diamonds Guest House again the next time I'm in York! ☺️

Great value for money. Easy check in, easy to find, nice location (15 min walk to the centre), little fridge in the nice spacious room was a touch, good pub opposite (the Winning Post), the room had everything needed for a weekend break in York at a reasonable price including a private bathroom.

Having to pay daily for parking but never mind, it was easy to do, obviously just wish it was free. Not the most comfy bed in the world but acceptable. I would definitely stay here again.

Good walking distance from the town, I had a quiet room to the back. Room had everything one needs for a few nights, albeit it was a bit tight with three beds in it. I was travelling on my own so I could use the extra beds as 'storage' area, three people with three suitcases will be very tight.

I had provided my arrival time, and when I got there, I had to call someone to provide me with the details of how to get into the room (not having a British sim card, meant an expensive international call). I would have prefered to receive the access details by email beforehand. Other than that it is a good place to stay and everything was perfect.
