- Room 117 had a bathroom for disabled guests but was not very user friendly. - No shower curtain so all the bathroom was soaked - No toilet roll holder so the toiler rolls were also wet from the shower - No toilet seat cover and only a small basin for washing hands . - Nowhere to put toiletries in the bathroom. - As the floor was tiled, the water from the shower stayed on the floor all day ad would have been dangerous for anyone with reduced mobility. - The hinges on the wardrobe door were broken. NB if you take the dinner package you have a reduced menu to the value of £30

The hotel was in a nice, quiet location within an easily walkable distance to the city centre. The interior was beautiful and stylish with an ambient and relaxing atmosphere.I loved the peacock theme, soft music playing in communal areas and looking at the wall art and stained glass windows. Our room was spacious, very clean and quiet, with beautiful curtains and a very soft and comfortable bed. The staff were polite, friendly and always smiling.

Maybe a few little things in the bathroom like not enough space around the toilet, the shower container was empty unless my partner used it all thinking it was the shower gel, and the shower was not the easiest one to operate- it took awhile to regulate the water temperature. My partner wanted to watch an Italian football mach and he could not share the screen from his mobile to the TV as this option was not available/ or disabled.

The hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. The staff were really nice and helpful.

The only down side for us was it was a little way out of the centre of York for going out in the evening. However they had a really good system in place for ordering a taxi, which wasn’t expensive.

We arrived at the hotel at 2pm but wasn't allowed in the room until 3pm The only other issue was breakfast. Their was only one member of staff on duty originally so we had to wait a little while to be seated. We were told to help ourselves to the continental breakfast along with tea, and coffee Unfortunately the coffee machine was not working. We sat on a small round table being only one member of staff on duty our table our plates and cups just sat their on the table until another member of staff turned up

The decor and facilities were lovely and modern and the staff were superb at helping us out whenever we needed it! They were friendly and approachable and ensured we had everything we needed! They’re dog friendly which is a bonus for us as our Lab comes everywhere with us, we really enjoyed the little touches included for dogs (particularly the goody bag) and the attention to detail. They seemed to have everything we could need and it was all complimentary (toothpaste, extra towels etc). - The room we were in was quite cold at the start but once you played around with the air con settings it soon warmed up! The bed and pillows were so so comfy and we found we slept like babies, the duvets were also warm which made a difference.

Exceptional decor, comfort and value for money. I loved everything about this hotel. The lounge , reception and bar have stunning art nouveau stained glass, fittings and decor. The bedroom decor was also gorgeous. There was superb attention to detail even down to the coving and pelmets. The bed was a very sumptuous super-king and the bathroom was also excellent. The tiles continued the peacock theme in the hotel, the bathroom fittings were excellent quality and the shower was powerful. All the staff were genuinely friendly, (especially Nadia) the cooked breakfast was excellent and included in the very reasonable price and the bar very cosy and comfortable. There's even an accessible room/bathroom and EV charging points. The hotel was a 10 minute walk into the centre of York. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again.

I guess you would call this a boutique hotel. The entrance leading to the stairs was something else. The hotel was a short walk to the City walls. 12 minutes. The staff were amazing from the registering with the receptionist to being thanked by the manager on leaving. We decided to have the breakfast on both days of our stay. Great choice continental with cooked. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection. In the evening we had a drink on the terrace. My partners cocktail had fresh mint picked from the garden on the terrace. Clean and quiet room. Brilliant shower. I would certainly recommend this hotel. As somebody who has spent years working away from home living in hotels this was a very good hotel.

Loved the interiors of the main building and that they have tried to keep the essence of the building. The rooms are very nice and the breakfast was delicious.

Some areas are abit tired, for instance some of the seating in the bar area. And the terrace could be made to look more inviting. Also, the buffet section of the breakfast needs to be replenished more often.

Really nicely decorated, very spacious room. Bed huge and very comfortable. Beautiful and stylish room. Airy with 2 big windows in our room, and nice air con for the hot weather.

Parts of the room were a bit dusty, and there was a bit of a lack of attention to detail with the cleaning/details - no bin bags in the bins, and the shower gel hadn't been refilled. The grout around the sink taps needs a good clean, the mirrors had some smears on, and water spilled through the bottom of the shower even when sealed shut. Also the handle fell off the tap in the shower but this was easily put back on. But these were easy to ignore, and overall the room was clean.

The hotel is approximately a 20 minute walk from the centre of york, but we used uber a lot as i dont walk very well. That cost about a fiver, so was ideal. we loved the decor of the hotel and room, and along with the staff, the stay was a very pleasant,comfortable and friendly time.food was good and the staff all went that extra mile to make the stay a little but special

There wasn't much we didn't like, as it is an old Hotel the upstairs landings creaked more than my knees, letting us know whenever somebody passed the room.. everything else was excellent
