A well-maintained, clean, and comfortable room is essential for a pleasant stay. Friendly, helpful, and efficient staff can significantly enhance the experience. Getting a reasonable price for the quality of service and facilities is important. Fitness centre,swimming pool,Bar ,steam bath. i was booked only for one day stay in this hotel.But later we booked another day also for staying this hotel.Becaus we liked there room and facilities, highlight the excellent service from the staff. it was really amazing experience stay in this hotel, i would love to comeback here again🫶🏻

Reception staff were lovely. Arrived before check in, but we were able to leave the car, so we could get on with the day. Check in was swift, and we were shown to our room within minutes. The room itself was great. Very comfy bed. I like the idea to help yourself to tea, coffee and milk. Most hotels leave a couple in the room, leaving me to go in search of more, as I like my tea. We didn't use the facilities as we were only on an overnight but they were all explained to us anyway. Great hotel, would recommend and stay again. 👌

Liked the lounge area adjacent to the bedroom, which gave lots of light. STAFF ARE OUTSTANDING. Breakfast is delicious. Gaynor in the dining room is an absolute ray of sunshine. She never stops and works really hard. Hazel, Alex and Mandy running reception bend over backwards to help clients. Rooms cleaned by very friendly cleaning team - fabulous pool. Lovely homely atmosphere. Quick 10 minute walk to town.

Price was expensive, and breakfast was not included. (I overlooked this when booking as we had breakfast last stays -direct with BW) We'll go that route again. Bedroom very dark as building being done outside the window. NB. Parking is extra. Evidence of building work going on at the back of the hotel, but in the four days we were there, thankfully, no noise was heard.

Lovely, old-fashioned but quaint. The lady at the reception was extremely kind and provided me with a bigger room upon check-in since there was one available and bookings were closed for the day - I didn’t ask, she just thought I would be more comfortable that way! Absolutely wonderful stay. Also has a pool I wish I’d taken advantage of had I known!

Nothing really - if pressed, it’s the slightest bit far from the city centre, but still only a 20 minute walk. Really would recommend.

Nice pool (10 m) that was deserted so I had it all to myself. Friendly staff. About a 20 minutes walk from York city centre. Good breakfast. Good powerful shower (once I'd figured out how it worked.)

I had to pay an extra £10 for the carpark, which was deserted. They seem to be extending the hotel, so there were almost completed building works at the rear that made it look untidy. (I'm sure it will be lovely when it's finished.) The abandoned washing machine by the back door also didn't create a great impression.

Was in room 17 ground floor. Spacious with bath as well as shower. Room was a few footsteps away from beautiful lounge opening out on to terrace where I sat with a coffee morning & evening. Felt like having a suite with private terrace.

Unkempt appearance of hotel frontage with shabby window dressings etc. & lack of effort to make place look attractive. Belies the fact that interior is dated but spotlessly clean with some very attractive features.

The staff were excellent (many of the other reviews mentioned this and it was true - a really lovely team). Pool was great (although it looks to be in middle of decoration but abandoned). It was spotless, like the room.

We were in a family room, the room was grand but the main part had one window that looked into another (empty) room that was part of an unfinished extension. The room was spotless, but the absence of a window was just weird, and meant you couldn't actually get any fresh air into the main room. I think this room should just be unavailable until whatever reconfiguration is complete.

Our room was very clean and spacious, The bathroom was very clean and lovely bath. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and would do anything for us. We loved that the room was on the ground floor and there was always plenty of room to park in the car park. Breakfast was delicious and everything was hot and fresh. I loved the building and the high ceilings. Well done. We thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone and we are already planning our next visit. Thanks very much. Andrea and Simon x

Everything was good.

Friendly staff, decent breakfast, good location just outside the city approx 10-15min walk from the train station. Really nice warm pool and a steam room which I had all to myself! Good price compared to most other hotels in York. Overall good value for money.

The rooms are dated and in need of a revamp, but you get what you pay for! Small windows so quite dark. I was woken up by people chatting really loudly in the reception area quite late at night which was frustrating.

Room was rather dark and very hot overnight. Bathroom needs some refurbishment.Parking pricey given car park affected by the current building works. Avoid parking under the trees - had to stop at a car wash on way home- tree sap and birds were lethal combo.
