The property was clean, modern and very tastefully done. Recently renovated to a much better standard than it previously was. Bedrooms are compact but if using it as a base it causes no problems. There is a hanging space for clothes but I took my own hangers. No drawers but there are deep shelves. Bedding and towels changed each morning. Lovely big shower which was very easy to use. The breakfast was £14 each which I thought was steep until we arrived downstairs. So much choice, cooked food was hot, plenty of cereals to choose from plus lovely croissants, pancakes, different jams. Lovely. Staff were wonderful. Especially the waiters who couldn’t do enough. 10 min walk to the centre of York. We’ll be back next year.
My sister hate’s white noise and had to ask for the air con to be switched off at night. Personally, I had no problem it

Hotel was wonderful, spotlessly clean, our room was spacious, bed was comfortable plus excellent air conditioning and the breakfast selection was excellent, cooked breakfast, cereal, pastries, yogurts 👌 Hotel is in an ideal location, only a 5/10 minute walk into the centre of town. My wife and I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning in the future.
Our only issues with this hotel were the carpark is extremely limited for space, I counted to total of 20 spaces for the entire hotel which means if it's full you have to park either behind the cinema or at the train. Both are reasonably close but this is something that could pose a problem for some. I would recommend arriving around 12-30 because other guests check out at 12 meaning there's more chance of a carpark space. Also it's a shame there is only a breakfast option meaning if you want lunch or dinner you need to go elsewhere, but this isn't a big problem because there's a wide variety of places to eat within a 10 minute walk.

Rooms spotless -excellent easy to use power shower - again spotlessly clean - serviced both days of stay- large TV - 15 mins walk into centre downhill - bus stops outside to avoid uphill walk back - nice bar area altho a bit deserted - very secure keyless entry doors and communal areas wouldn't hesitate to book again
Car park a bit tight for larger cars - lose a couple of car spaces and make them wider -too many pillars - one man in particular damaged his front wing whilst I was parking up - puts a cloud over the start of your holiday also seem to be oversold and overpriced for blue badge parking - there was 1 motorbike using an entire space when there was space for designated bike area to be made in the corner of the car park

Loved the room, very cozy with lovely lighting. A huge shoutout to the member of staff on reception today (22nd July, a lady with curly blond hair. I can’t remember her name! I think she mentioned she doesn’t usually work at this hotel) she went out of her way to help. We Left our stuff in the luggage room. Later on after my sons graduation when collecting our bags, she told us we could sit in the lovely lounge/bar area and help ourselves to cups of tea, supplied us with milk etc. this was a very very appreciated gesture as my son had been unwell and it was absolutely chucking it down with rain. So nice to be sat in the pretty bar with a hot drink and not be rushed before the train home. With staff as helpful, professional and friendly as this I will definitely stay in this hotel again when I come back to York. Outstanding service. I’d love for this to be passed onto the hotel staff member :)
Only small thing was the flashing light on the (I think) smoke alarm seemed bright while trying to sleep. But I am a very light sleeper, so possibly just me.

Room was clean and bed was comfy and towels were changed daily. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of food and drink Staff were very friendly and helpful
The noise... Lots of door banging down the corridor and from above it sounded like moving furniture thud thud thud (don't these people understand what it means to stay in a hotel... Some consideration would have been appreciated) Also on my last night people talking very loudly outside my room, well after midnight.. I was wearing earplugs and I could still hear them!

This was our first stay here. Absolutely amazing now that it has been refurbished ! Rooms are lovely and clean and smell new. Plenty of space in the room and the beds was even comfortable compared to some hotels! I actually had a good nights sleep. Only downside was air con not cold enough 🥵but windows open enough to take the heat out . The breakfast was awesome and drinks available staff was polite and very helpful too.Definitely recommend and will return at some point. Just hope they keep it clean for a long time.
Just the Air con not cold enough that’s all.

I was not expecting a family room in a chain hotel to be so comfortable and in such a good location. I was so pleased. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was great, set away from the rest of the hotel, and it just felt relaxed. Good high quality basics in the room, but not perfunctory. Will definitely pick Ibis over it's main competitors in future, if this is the standard.
Not a dislike, but just make sure the bathroom hasn't got dust bunnies on the floor in the corners. Everything was clean and well appointed, so this is a minor detail.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly, polite, and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, the beds were very comfortable, and overall it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The location is also very convenient — just a 10–15 minute walk to the city centre
Parking in York is generally very difficult. We already expected this from the reviews, but if you arrive around check-in time (even an hour before), it is possible to find a parking space at the hotel.

Very nice clean room. Handy being so near to everything as I have mobility problems. Slept really well on a very comfy bed. Excellent breakfast & friendly atmosphere. Staff were very helpful. Nothing not to like.
The maze of stairs! Not for me. The lifts are very small and didn't take us to our room. It would have to be ground floor for me next time. The bar is very limited. I would like to have been able to enjoy a non alcoholic larger in the evening but nothing was available.

It was clean, modern, breakfast was brilliant, staff were helpful and friendly and check out was at a great and reasonable time. We even arrived slightly early and were let in to our room before check in which was nice of the staff
The air con didn’t work and it was a very warm night and our bathroom smelt like cigarettes either because the previous person was smoking or they were smoking next door in the bathroom which wasn’t very nice for our children especially but also not the fault of the staff.
