Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order, Mal even cooked a sausage for my dog. The room was amazing with all bits you might need in there, fridge, hair dryer, slippers dressing gown, tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, chocolates and toiletries. Quite central for York, the coast, Harrogate and Knaresborough. You won’t be disappointed.

Nothing wrong with Hillcroft, but just to note that the nearby pub doesn’t open on Monday and Tuesday, but the nearby village of Pocklington has great facilities.

Mal was friendly and welcoming. Everything you hope to find when you stay somewhere was thought of and supplied, plus extra touches too. Fresh milk and bottled water in the mini fridge were very welcome. We were prepared to forego breakfast as we needed an early departure but Mal was happy to provide it early for us which really helped. The room was clean, warm and comfortable with an excellent shower. Thanks it was a great stay and we'll be back.

Mal was very welcoming. We’d booked the largest room which was at the side of the house so it was lovely and quiet. Breakfast was great and freshly cooked. There is a guest lounge and nice garden you could use too

Bathroom was small and a bit dated but everything worked.

This B & B is in a village location about 15 miles from York, with good parking facilities. Upon arrival there was a warm welcome from Mal, the owner. The facilities are all well presented, it is clean and with a relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast was very good. It would be ideal for a 'stop over' if visiting York in the future.

Its location was just off a country road, but wasn't hard to find , got a warm welcome from mal and the facilities were clean and well kept, the room was a fair size with a full free view channels, the bed was clean and there was extra pillows and a small wardrobe to hang your clothes... the breakfast was nice and we got given a of time slot for breakfast, got a good verity of choice for it. The room was warm and well decorated... would definitely stay over again and recommend hillcrorft B@B to everyone

There was a slight trickling nose in bathroom, caused by toilet running constantly, wasn't loud but it noticeable ...

Very Clean , tea , coffee, a pint of milk in the fridge with 3 bottles of water, chocolates and biscuits, comfortable bed, towels and shower gel etc, off street parking, excellent breakfast, very friendly owner.

Mel was very hospitable and helpful. The room provided everything you might need. The Cooked breakfast was fabulous.

A bit difficult finding the B&B in the dark, but after a quick phone call Mel came out with a torch and found us!

Booking I booked through Booking.com which was simple. I then sent a message to the B&B and asked if the bed was a kingsize, Mal said it was a double but would upgrade us if no one else booked the kingsize bed room. Payment was easy to make and everything was confirmed. Arrival I had message Mal to say could we arrive early and that we would arrive around 11am unfortunately due to traffic etc it was a bit later than that but he rang and asked and we was about 15 mins away when he rang so he was there to greet us. Check in was easy, Mal explained a few things to us and showed us to our room. Room The room we had was an upstairs room which was to the top or the stairs on the right hand side. It was very light and decorated lovely, it had two big windows which was great and the room was lovely and warm. The room was spotless and carpeted in a cream carpet which had no stains on at all, house slippers are provided but i just wore socks in the room and when i went down to breakfast. The bed was pine and big and the bedding was spotless and had comfy pillows. There was a TV, kettle/tea making facilities and plenty of biscuits etc. En- Suite/Bathroom Ensuite was brilliant bath and a shower over bath, shampoo/conditioner and soap available and the towels where white and fluffy, it was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Breakfast I loved breakfast, as Mal cooked the breakfast in front of us as the tables are siutated in the kitchen. You could see the breakfast being cooked and it was lovely and fresh. At breakfast we was offered cereal, coffee, tea, toast and a full english, It was cooked to order on a prefilled breakfast sheet which we completed the night before and was really good, we did get asked if we wanted more toast, tea and coffee etc but we was full, The breakfast was cooked to perfection and the products really good quality. Breakfast room was spotless as the whole bed and breakfast was.

By far the best b&,b we've ever stayed in. The host Mal is just fantastic, he is so friendly and we had such a laugh with him, he cooks the most amazing breakfast 😋. The room was large and beautifully furnished, added special touches were flowers, chocolates, biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge. If I could rate this higher than 5 stars I definitely would. We are so looking forward to visiting again soon and would like to thank Mal for a truly fabulous weekend x
