Everything about the hotel has a luxurious feeling, really well decorated and clear signs of quality. The staff were superb and nothing too much trouble.

I hope I'm not being too critical but the food was disappointing. Steak night, we had to send our chips back, they were very undercooked and the steak tasted very dry or left under the heaters too long. The onion rings looked very appetising but they didn't feel fresh and there was a taste of old oil or oil that had been used for other foods that had contaminated the taste. The Toby Carvery food just down the road was much better but naturally your hotel is far superior in every other aspect.

Everything was lovely, from the greeting from staff on arrival, to their help with a hot meal when we arrived late and the quality and design of the room. Breakfast was good, some nut and seed options with the yoghurt would have been a bonus.

The only complaint, is that guests who were attending an onsite event were very noisy through the late evening up until the event ended, when returning to their rooms. Chatting and laughing in the corridor, with no consideration for other guests trying to sleep. This ended when the event ended and they finally all went to bed. More sound proofing of the room doors might help this.

The only negative was the breakfast. It wasn’t quite as good as it looked. The homemade granola was delicious. Fruit options good. The cooked breakfast however didn’t taste so great. That’s my only critical comment,

The quality of the cooked breakfast - it wasn’t bad but definitely not the best and didn’t match all the other excellent qualities. Personally I would have preferred choices too like smashed avocado on sourdough or smoked salmon and scrambled egg. Maybe it’s a northern thing that more people in the north like a cooked breakfast. However, the food at the wedding was good . I am fussy as I’m a dedicated home cook and love great quality food but I would say that people who will spend more on a room may also be discerning on food.

The location and Hotel were amazing! Exceptional staff, from walking through the front door to the check out. The staff made the stay with exceptional service with paying particular attention to detail. The property itself was very clean with a large double room with en suite. The restaurant was closed for work being done to it when we arrived but didn’t stop an amazing breakfast. The bed was comfortable and with a warm atmosphere upon arrival to the property.

There was nothing really we could fault the hotel with. The main nit picking point would be that the rooms heating was more complicated to use as it was too hot to leave it on over night but the room would be cold in the morning when waking up. So maybe some instructions on how to set the heating so that it can come on 20/30 minutes before waking up/ getting out of bed.

Due to miscommunication when we arrived we hadn’t been allocated a room with disabled facilities. But the staff were amazing and Jess and 2 other young ladies on reception sorted it out straight away without hesitation and I would personally like to thank them for their fast and friendly response. It is a wonderful hotel with first class facilities can’t wait to return .

There was no fried bread with the breakfast 🤣

We had a fantastic stay and would return in a heart beat. It had such a lovely, warm and cosy vibe to it and the grounds are just beautiful. The room was spotless and could not be faulted. We had a wonderful view. The free water, milk and hot drink selection in the room is a lovely touch too which we enjoyed on arrival. The bed was possibly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. No complaints. We will be returning.

We paid for breakfast and arrived at 9.40 in the restaurant. We went straight for the hot breakfast selection and felt it needed replenishing as there were only a couple of everything remaining. We sat down with our breakfast and tucked in. My partner wanted more and so went back up and it was empty. However, they did notice him looking in the empty containers and came and informed him that they were just sorting some more bacon and sausage. We felt £17 each was a little pricey too.

Hotel was fantastic, warm, comfortable and staff were friendly.

Restaurant was cold, staff indifferent to this, food was cold as we were sat in a draught. We kept telling the staff that we were cold, particularly my 89 year old mother whose birthday we were celebrating . We were told that we would be moved but it did not happen. The staff just avoided us after that and didn’t feed back until much later that they couldn’t move us. Breakfast the next day was excellent, restaurant was warm, food was warm and extremely tasty, staff on this occasion were extremely friendly and helpful.

I loved everything about my stay at Sandburn Hall. The room was beautiful, comfortable and had everything I needed. The aircon was quiet and efficient and the bed was comfortable. I also liked the low light in the bathroom for nocturnal visits! Having a fridge with fresh milk was great, hate those long life milk pods! The decor in the room and the public spaces was modern and refreshing.

Maybe being able to open a window for some fresh air would have been nice but being on the ground floor I understand why they don't.

The breakfast was great! Wide variety of options. Good quality items. No limit on choices. The room was a lovely style. The bed was a bit firm for me but still had a nice quiet nights sleep. It was a nice touch for them to write me a happy birthday message in a card with some brownies. It was greatly appreciated thank you! The staff were really friendly and there was always someone on hand if needed. The bar area was nice to relax in and had a great choice of bar snacks/food/drinks.

There was a festival on which made it difficult to park on the weekend we stayed. If the visitors to the festival weren't using the hotel it would have been a better idea for them to be allocated an area for parking, so other hotel guests didn't have to struggle to park or park on the grass.

After our last stay with a 'louder' set of friends, I expected to have a bit of a frosty reception, but it was completely the opposite. The staff obviously remembered our last visit and commented about it, but we're very chirpy and tongue in cheek about it. This made me relax abit quicker. I can honestly say the staff really are genuinely friendly & provide a very warm service. The room was spotless as always, and the bed is extremely comfortable. The breakfast was as good as always, even had scrambled egg. It was lovely to be greeted by a very bubbly member of staff first thing in the morning. We will be visiting again.
