A great location in Hemsley close to the centre for shops, cafes/restuarants and walks etc A private carpark is available and its right next to the castle, a scenic park and national birds of prey centre. A great place for a holiday adventure or to just relax in the fabulous garden and watch the fish. The hosts are lovely (Carol and Frank) and made you feel right at home. The accomodation is smart, clean, comfy and cosy. A good selection of breakfast is available from cereals/fruit to a full english to fill you up for day. Highly recommend and a good price. I would stay again.

Fabulous Gem. On arrival, we were met by Carol and Frank (the owners). Lovely hosts who showed us around the room. Very welcoming. The room was spotless with all mod cons and perfect for our stay. The gardens are gorgeous with an added bonus of a large pond with Koi Carp. Quite spectacular. The breakfast was amazing with all fresh produce and lots of choices. Carol has won awards for the standards and I can personally back the award as I've never had better. The property is perfectly central to Helmsley but in a very quiet area that guarantees a great night's sleep after exploring the area. The castle is 100 yards away. Free parking too which is a massive bonus. I would like to personally like to thank Carol and Frank for making our stay so welcoming and enjoyable. 5 ***** from me.

B&B, everything is lovely and the nicest hosts you could ever meet. Room small but lovely, modern bathroom with a great hot shower, fridge with fresh milk and water, drinks and biscuits. Great choice at breakfast. Loved the homemade marmalade. Great place to stay with easy parking, restaurants and the super brewery around the corner. Helmsley is a beautiful and immaculate place.

Having to leave

Excellent location--opposite the entrance to the castle. Very welcoming and lovely breakfast. Beautiful garden. Room was rather small but comfortable, and the parking area was tricky to manoeuvre. However, the Cleveland way car park was only a few yards away and was reasonably priced for overnight stays after 6.00 pm.

The size of the room

Room was warm, very useful fridge provided, modern bathroom and shower . Excellent comprehensive breakfast in a pleasant room, and Carol a friendly and welcoming host. Lovely garden with massive fish tank and pond outside the room. Quiet location but very close to local amenities.

Parking a little awkward but manageable with care

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Location couldn't be better, it was in the centre of Helmsley within walking distance of attractions. Room had everything you needed. Hosts couldn't do enough for you.

Would have preferred an indoor communal area for when weather wasn't so good.

Initial parking and access to Stilworth House from the rear was slightly confusing for us - maybe we missed something in the guidance instructions. The host was very helpful in showing us how to proceed as soon as we met her. Useful space could be enhanced by furniture changes: remove large wardrobe, smaller chest of drawers, move fridge so it doesn't block the window, and provide another two electric sockets.

Perfect location & nice comfortable room, the breakfast was very good. Carol was really lovely & the perfect host.

I would have liked to have been able to control the heating independently but in fairness you shouldn’t need it in June! The heating was on in the morning though.

Very welcoming hosts who were genuinely concerned for our comfort. Delicious, fulsome breakfast, cooked to order. Lovely very well equipped and comfortable room. Excellent location for exploring all aspects of Helmsley and beyond. Very quiet and peaceful despite being in the centre of town

WiFi just a tad slow but not a problem.

Fresh, clean, comfortable and characterful accomcodation in a beautiful location. Great cooked breakfast! Friendly and helpful hosts. Peaceful setting, yet only a couple of minutes' walk from the bustling market square with its historic inns, restaurants, cafes and independent shops. Lovely walks and heritage sites nearby. Highly recommended.
