Excellent location for visiting local attractionsor just staying in. The property was clean, and the staff friendly and helpful, they could not do enough for you. Very tranquil, spacious bedroom looking over rolling hills and countryside, comfortable bed and chair. The hotel was fully booked, but at no time did we hear any noise from other guests. The bathroom was spacious and spotlessly clean, invigorating shower and freestanding bath.. Bar and lounge were very relaxing with attentive service. Breakfast and dinner were both of outstanding quality and perfectly portioned. We will definitely be back

There was nothing to dislike about this hotel.

This small country hotel is great. Situated a few miles south of Malton, on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Nearest small village and surrounded by countryside, It has quite extensive grounds itself. There is a large, comfortable lounge area with a fireplace at one end, and a bar at the other. My room was sold as small, but seemed large enough. Well appointed, everything worked. The shower especially was very powerful. Comfortable bed, really nothing to complain about in the room. I had dinner in the hotel, It was of a high standard. Breakfast was simple, with only the most modest buffet part. I tried salmon and scrambled eggs, which was about the best I've ever had it. Again, throughout the stay, staff were very friendly and attentive.

I really can't think of anything to complain about. I slept with my window open, and early in the morning the sparrows hopped in to sit on the window sill and stare at me. This was really the nearest thing to a complaint I can think of.

This is a luxury hotel in an old Georgian house. We were extremely pleased with everything. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Great cooked breakfast with many cold options as well that you could help yourself to on the sideboard.

This is a silly complaint and I realize that in old English homes it may not be an option to update in this way, but, I will never understand the style of sinks where there are two separate faucets for hot and cold. I don't like it. I'm either washing my hands in freezing cold water or boiling hot water. Again, not a huge complaint, but I just don't get it. Especially in a luxury hotel.

This is a lovely country house hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a double room which was nicely decorated, and was very clean. We had a small issue with the sink - our fault - that was very quickly resolved. The food at the evening meal was beautifully presented - all cooked to order. There are lovely, comfortable lounges to have pre and post dinner drinks in. Breakfast was again cooked to order. Plenty of choice and well presented. We are looking forward to our next visit in a couple of weeks time.

There really was nothing we didn't like. We would recommend Burythorpe House to anyone looking for a stay in a lovely country house hotel.

Very caring and welcoming personnel. The location is incredibly peaceful and quiet, with great views of nature. Dinner and breakfast were both very nice. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the room was very clean and tidy overall.

This didn’t apply to us as we had a small and light suitcase, but we were on the third floor and I can imagine that it would be pretty difficult to carry a heavy suitcase there. So if you are packing with heavy suitcases, it would be better to ask for a room on the lower floors, a request which I’m sure the staff would be more than happy to accommodate.

Lovely countryside location, quiet and peaceful - we slept well. Delicious breakfast, and we had dinner on one evening, which was equally good. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again. The room was very clean and immaculate, also well ventilated on what was quite a hot few days.

We were out on the first night at a concert and arrived back around 9.45pm to find everywhere dark and locked up. We would have liked to have a drink at the bar, so felt it was a bit early to be closed up. But we went to the local pub, so no problem finding a beer!

breakfast served quickly by the efficient staff in pleasant dining room. The food served was high quality and delicious. Enough to satisfy us right through the day.

The bedroom was on two levels. The two steps down into the bedroom then back up to go to the bathroom proved a little difficult at times for my husband to negotiate, otherwise the bedroom was comfortable with a beautiful aspect of the garden and the gorgeous trees. The tv didn’t work but my husband eventually sorted it. The plug on the bath wasn’t attached to the chain. But that wasn’t of great importance. Still managed having a bath.

Really beautiful location and lovely place. Staff all very friendly. Very quiet area and comfortable bed so very good night sleep. Shower was the best I've experienced, quite powerful. There were a few lovely extra touches in the room such as drinking water, tea/coffee/hot chocolate and toiletries. Breakfast lovely with a variety prepared quickly and freshly. Evening meals available but did not try so cannot comment.

My only complaint would be as the location is remote the phone signal was poor and although there was Wifi I struggled to get a good connection.

Absolutely outstanding and nothing was too much trouble, Alison was amazing and went out of her way to make sure we were happy, I’d definitely absolutely stay here again, breakfast was lovely, young girl at breakfast was just the sweetest little love that was more than happy to make sure we had all that we needed, room was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble, honestly can not wait to go back again loved it loved Alison, she’s an amazing manager who puts her guests and staff above everything, best hotel I’ve been to in a very long time. Xx

Fabulous staff, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Amazing food and service. We stayed in the bridal suite which was luxurious and so comfy.

We enjoyed all of our stay, minor comments : Would have preferred white fluffy towels, bath towels were not large. Empty toilet roll under the bed. After breakfast as we returned to our room, two lovely young staff were sat on the sittee on the first floor landing on their phones. I expect they were waiting to start cleaning but maybe wait in a more discreet place.
