We had done a little 9 day tour of Yorkshire and Malton was our last stop. Arrived at Chapter Two and was greeted by a really cheerful young lady who checked us in and showed us to our room and advised us where to park. Room was nice and clean and quiet. We had twin beds, which were comfortable. Chapter Two is in a great location in the village, so we have a wander round and had something to eat, then made our way back to the bar. The owners are a family of young people who are all friendly and cheerful and the right people to be in hospitality! Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing location right on the market square. Despite this, no real issues with noise. The rooms are above a bar so people may be drinking and talking below your window on warm evenings, but we found the noise stopped at 8.30pm on Thursday and 9.30pm on Friday night, so wasn't a problem. Note some people don't like the green safety light in the room - wasn't a problem for me personally though was not in direct view of the bed given the L-shaped entranceway. Rooms are cosily sized though our ensuite bathroom was a decent size. I would stay here again if visiting Malton once more!

Great location for us as visiting family in the area. Not a bad drive to the park and ride to get into York from here. The property took a minute to find as the door was around the back of the front entrance of the bar but otherwise ok to find. Easy check in and great help with one of the rooms as some of us were arriving late. Rooms were clean and like all the toiletries, water bottles, tea/coffee, biscuits left out for us. It’s an old property but it was great we all had our own en suite. Shower was good too.

The property is ideally located in the centre of Malton, in a beautiful house that’s akin to the house in all creatures great and small, the beds were comfy and the location was quiet. Loved the art deco fireplace in the entrance!

Internet didn’t work very well, and the room could do with an iron, we were attending some weekend events and had to borrow a steamer from a friend. For the price range a breakfast option, even at a local restaurant would be lovely, but as we were leaving early both days it wasn’t missed greatly.

Friendly staff, the proximity to the bar itself, relaxed nature of the check out process, easy late night access, quietness, despite being a perfect town centre location.

Just tiny things really: There is no car park, which I knew in advance, but would have been great if there were directions to the nearest free car park in the town as it isn't far away. It wasn't obvious how to check in, if there were a simple note saying, "please go to the bar to check in", that would have told me earlier that I was doing the right thing.

Lovely accommodation separate from the pub, absolutely amazing relaxing stay. Such a big comfy room. Large big bed towels and toiletries. Loves stopping here. Ideal for bangers and cash fans and those who like Scarborough and Filey coast. The staff in the pub who run the accommodation was absolutely amazing very friendly and polite- nothing was too much trouble.

I couldn't find a fault, will definitely be back.

The location of the property is excellent, within very short distances to restaurants and cafes/pubs in Malton. The bed in the double room was very comfy and the en-suite spacious. Plenty of coffee/tea in the room. The wifi worked perfectly. Staff were very helpful and courteous.

The lock at the front door to the accommodation was difficult, I first thought I was locked out. But it turned out it was just a stiff lock. No other issues for me.

Great location and parking close to the accommodation. Cosy, heating a bit unpredictable but grateful for the additional heater.

The room was very small, little storage space. For feedback purposes- could do with a toilet brush. No decaf coffee provided. Nowhere to put toiletries in the bathroom. Very little space to put baggage shoes, clothes etc Expensive considering no breakfast was provided which we knew about.

Did not have breakfast. Ate in a nearby cafe. The room was perfect for what we came for which was an overnight stay. Right in the market square. Parking available. Was able to walk around on the evening and go for a drink and a meal, then went to castle Howard the next day. Staff were so friendly and helpful and made the stay all the more special. Would love to go back.

Location was where we wanted to be, right in the town center. Owner and Staff are very friendly and give excellent service. Drinks in the bar are very reasonable, and food is good. I would definatelty stay there again since the room and beds are so comfortable.

Not a lot we didn't like. So really this part of the survey, is not needed for us. oh yeah there is warning signs about hot water taps, they are very hot..be careful.
