Friendly, very welcoming, family run - beautiful location and surroundings. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Would suggest 2 night stay and take walking gear to fully appreciate. Lots of walks right on the door and a short car journey away.

We had a lovely stay here. From the moment we rolled up i was in love with the location and setting. Walked in through the door to be greeted by the most gorgeous cats infront of a roaring cosy log fire. Later joined by the family dog. What more could an animal lover want? Every staff member was amazing, friendly amd welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, the food was fantastic, i had the vegetarian lasagne and it was to die for. Great choice of drinks at the bar. Breakfast was fab! We would of loved to stay another night. It felt like home. We will definitely be back.

Homely, Welcoming, Quality. Beyond my expectations. I expected there to be just a couple of rooms in a cottage, and yet there are ELEVEN rooms. So why was my room number EIGHTEEN. I'm sure there is an explanation, but it's not important because No.18 was the attic loft room where the windows slope down over the bed. I'm 6-foot 3-inches but I didn't have any height problems in the room. After a drive of almost 4-hours I couldn't be bothered to go back into Pickering for an evening meal, so I chose to take what was offered here. Fantastic Food, to original recipes with some proper cheffing in evidence. It was the same for Breakfast. Nothing was taken out of a polythene bag from the freezer and microwaved. This is real food done the way you ask for it. You're on first name terms here very quickly, and you WILL return. There is space outside to lounge, to drink, and even to eat, and incredible views of Yorkshire

Just be aware the access is around a mile on a single track farm lane, which may not be easy to drive late at night. You won't be walking back to Pickering. I class this as 'character' and NOT complaint.

The friendliness and helpfulness of the owners and staff. They couldn't do enough for us. We are on a cycle holiday and leaving our vehicles at the hotel was a great help and we were secure in our minds that they would be safe and secure when we returned. They also stored our bikes whilst we used our vehicles for a day before cycling. The food was excellent too.

There is nothing we didn't like.

The hotel is situated in the heart of the countryside just outside Pickering but is well signposted and easy to find. The breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice and the cooked breakfasts were delicious. We had evening meals as well which again were excellent and good value for money. The hotel is family run and everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is homely. Even the family dog and cats come to greet you. We would definitely return.

There was nothing we did not like.

An old school no frills country guest house with super friendly owners/staff in a lovely location with great views. The evening restaurant food was home cooked and really good........I had to leave super early in the morning at 6.30 so unfortunately didn't get the chance with a cooked breakfast but I was still offered and allowed access to cereals, toast and fruit which I helped myself to which was a nice touch. Not much not to like here.

Good location, but not close enough to walk into Pickering in the evening. Good food and the hospitality was great, dog lovers, which is always good

I can't say it was a dislike, but I thought the price for adding our dog (which forgotten to do when booking although I had filteted dog only sites!) was expensive at £20 extra for the night. I was already charged £10 from what booking.com said it would be when I booked it, so £30 more than expected

An unusual ‘hotel/B&B/restaurant in a very remote location. Warm welcome, very clean, comfortable, excellent food and nice hosts. Beautiful setting. Not only the breakfast but dinner was very good with a very interesting and tempting menu for such a small venue. Would like to have stayed a few nights just to try more of the food!

A small bathroom (shower room). A slip mat in the shower is needed and the shower controls tricky.. Beware, the water is v hot. For a one or two night stay though very comfortable.

Great quiet location in the countryside close to Pickering and all the other sights and places to visit. Great rooms and restaurant with good selection on the menu. Nice area outside to sit with a drink after a hot day sightseeing and before evening meal with views over the Vale of Pickering. Staff/Owners really nice and helpful.

Unfortunately no room on the groundloor for bedrooms. I have major accessibility issues and can only just manage those steps to the bedroom. As my mobility gets worse I don't think I will be able to manage the stairs next time, so unfortunately rules us out coming back. 😳🤨❤️ Fingers crossed for them to be able to fit in a accessible bedroom with walk in shower, as I think it will be good business sense and advertising advantage for you. We often pay 10-15% more for our room, which is fine for us as we recognise the owners commitments to satisfying our needs. 😃👍😉🤗❤️
