I loved how incredible the service was and how delicately beautiful the rooms were, so inkeeping with the hotel and its surroundings. The sheets were crisp and beautiful with blanket after blanket of warmth to snuggle under. I had the best time! I was made to feel so special and nothing was at all any trouble. The food was of top quality as was the tea and wine. As an experienced traveller, this was one i will not forget! Exactly to my taste and exactly what I needed on a break away from the kids. Outstanding!

The pillows were slighty too firm and the breakfast sausages were of too good a quality that it wasnt juicy enough. That's just me being picky though.

Excellent food and service, staff couldn't do enough for you. Excellent location on the edge of the Yorkshire moors. Scenery is fantastic.

Hotel a little dated ( but in my opinion adds to the experience).

Couldn't fault a thing. Very peaceful setting with just a few steps to the moors. Wonderful evening meal in the restaurant, all you could wish for at breakfast, lovely gardens and the hosts were lovely.

This is a family owned and managed hotel which offers a traditional and comprehensive service. I cannot fault the professionalism, dediaction to detail and politeness of the family and staff who attended to our every needs.

The accommodation was a little bit pricy but was justified in terms of the level of service provided. Such accommodation which is wholly family owned and run is streets way from the the cheaper but soul less offerings of the big chains, no contest.

Beautiful , charming hotel with the most relaxed and calm vibe . Comfortable and clean - the room felt fresh and elegantly understated . Wonderful service and staff ( owners ) who were more than happy to help if needed. Lovely gardens and grounds to wander in and a very inviting terrace beyond the living room . The place exudes the traditional charm of a possibly bygone era ; a place where you can truly forget the troubles of the real world . Highly recommend this beautiful hotel .

A truly magical place to stay. The staff are exceptional . The gardens are exquisite . The food is delicious . The drink selection is wonderful . A truly special place to stay on every level . I also have to mention incredibly comfy beds and stunning wall paper in every single room . Heaven

staff, location, food, rest guests just excellent! food was just delicious (dinner and breakfast)! returning guests and I can see why! we arrived there after a long trip and they accommodated dinner for us with no trouble at all. I got confused and booked for a day earlier and they did change the date with no issues, which we really appreciated! staff so polite, discreet, just superb experience therefore 10 rating!!! we got a Easter chocolate egg before breakfast as it was Easter :) no mobile reception but there is wifi. Lastingham village is very picturesque! proper English cottage character in the hotel rooms and communal areas! very comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom with garden views! great walks around the building! we will return for sure!

A superb Yorkshire country house in a stunning location. Excellent fresh “home cooking” style dinners with a daily varied menu. Great breakfast.
