Staff very friendly and the whole hotel clean . Breakfast was exceptionally good and a wide range of choice from the buffet selection then a choice of hot food from the menu. Couldn't fault anything

The room was very nice and very clean, definitely spacious but unfortunately the bed was on the very large size, meaning height wise. We were in the vintage room. My husband has torn a ligament in his knee so couldn't get into the bed, there was wooden steps to get up in to the bed but unfortunately the steps are that clean which is very good but too slippery. We ended up sleeping on the arm chair and sofa. We did ask to be moved but the hotel didn't have any other availability. The stairs to our room was a mission as we were the furthest room. Overall if my husband hadn't a torn ligament we wouldn't be giving alittle negative feedback. The hotel is lovely and if we came back we would book again at the white swan

Location was right in the centre with parking on the premises We were in a separate annexe at the rear of the Inn so it was very quiet, and each room had its own little patio area with a table and 2 chairs. The staff were really friendly and all went the extra mile to accommodate any request. The room was comfy with an extra large bed made for a good night's sleep. We ate in the restaurant for 2 of our 3 night stay, and the food was excellent. We were even asked if we had any special requests, and the chef was able to order the fish we asked for. Breakfast each morning was really good with an excellent varied choice

The room was a little too warm for us and although we turned the thermostat all the way down, it didn't seem to affect the heating. However you could open the window which we did when we were in the room.

A friendly welcome and comfortable bar and lounge areas. Breakfast was just right, full cooked breakfast was available and of a good standard, but not so big as to spoil appetite later in the day - friendly service too. Parking was spacious enough so as not to feel that our car might be compromised, and even though the entrance looks narrow in pictures it is fine (delivery vans could get in!). There was a small fridge in the room which is a very good idea.

Bar next door belonging to another establishment was very noisy in the evenings, added to by people having to go outside for smoking. There was an event starting in Pickering on the day we left and access to and from the White Swan was compromised. We had hoped to leave the car for a short while after checking out, but this was not possible due to street closure - lucky we weren't arriving that day!

Lovely old inn. The room was very cosy and modern with a traditional vibe. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel is right in the centre of Pickering with plenty of parking. The breakfast menu and buffet were extensive and the food was very good.

We stayed on a Saturday night and I was woken up late by revellers outside shouting and laughing in the street - not the inn’s fault, of course, but something to be mindful of if you prize your sleep because the windows are single-panes in wood frames, presumably the building is listed.

All good great restaurant.

Everything was excellent. We stayed as a multi-generation group of 10 and the hotel got in touch to ask about room configurations and these worked very well for us. We ate at the hotel for two dinners and the menu was varied enough to allow this and had something for everyone (not easy!). The hot breakfast options were excellent - huge variety and very tasty, there was also fruit, yogurt and cereal available too so a proper hearty breakfast to fuel the day. The snug was a great place to relax in the evenings and the is hotel ideally located, easy to find and had plenty of parking. The North York Moor steam railway is just around the corner (5 min walk) and is also recommended. We thought our stay was very good value and top marks to the team for seamlessly accommodating a 10-person booking less than 2 weeks before we arrived! Brilliant staff and excellent stay - thank you for making our family weekend so special!

Nothing, this hotel was perfect for us and for what we wanted for our stay. The Pickering Rocks festival was on which we hadn't realised when booking so we worried a bit about crowding and delays but there was just a good atmosphere and plenty of staff on hand.

Hideaway room was spacious, lovely and warm on still-chilly early April mornings thanks to underfloor heating. Comfy bed and pillows, plenty of hanging / drawer space, nice big bath AND separate shower cubicle. Nice touch was proper milk in a bottle in the fridge, rather than silly little UHT pots. Housekeeping good. Really delicious full Yorkshire breakfast and good choice of other breakfast favourites. Top marks to management for staff training; all were friendly, courteous and efficient.

Minor disappointment that we arrived hungry at 2.10pm to find the kitchen had closed at 2pm, although quickly solved by the purchase of 2 very nice, big sausage rolls from the bakers opposite!

To put it simply, The White Swan Inn is 👌 From the moment that we parked up (ample & secure parking to rear) & checked in to our beautiful Room 1 (with the most comfortable King Size bed) we just knew we were in for a fab experience & we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful evening meal with lots of locally sourced produce on the menu & after a wonderful night's rest we enjoyed a lovely breakfast with (once again) lots of lovely local produce. Staff were excellent, kind, courteous & attentive. Thank you one & all at The White Swan Inn

Well located in the heart of Pickering, conveniently close to the main road bus stops and North Yorkshire Moors Railway station [we didn't travel by car]. An old fashioned hotel in the best sense; lovely old building and service of a kind you don't often get these days. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts - an extensive menu, all freshly cooked to order. And, it was good to have two chairs in a double room: so many hotels for some reason only provide one.

Dinner was of good quality but a quite limited menu.
