The staff were absolutely excellent. Every single one of them was so friendly, polite and helpful. Despite the bar being really busy and the hotel check in area being immediately next to the bar and run by the same staff, they were really helpful and checked me in efficiently whilst also keeping the flow of queuing drinkers from waiting for too long. The room was clean and comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the single room had a three quarter bed rather than a single bed. Very satisfied with how neat and clean and comfortable the room was. It was also quiet.
The en suite shower room had a bit of a stale smell coming from the toilet (I think) so it (or maybe the shower curtain) might just need extra cleaning or fixing. The bed springs felt a little bit hard but not overly so. Otherwise, everything was pretty good.

It’s very convenient , just right in front of the Hull University, several bus stops to city centre. It’s an old inn, typical English style, so room might not spacious enough but cozy. Not noisy even it’s on top of the pub. Most importantly the staff are all helpful and welcoming. I booked for 3nights but only found at very late on the day when I suppose to check in is that I’ll arrive very late at about 11pm on Sunday. I’ve got very instant response from one staff on booking message that I’ll get refund if I missed the 1st night as it’s more logical for me to stay at hotel nearby the Humberside airport. I’ve received the refund, and it’s a very good experience .

The rooms are quiet, well appointed with everything needed for a good overnight stay. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Easy parking. It's right across the road from the university so ideal for visiting students at the uni or for when dropping them off. They can then pop across to meet you for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have stayed here several times now. Always a warm, friendly welcome and very competitively priced food.
Nothing that I can think of. Although if you have trouble with stairs some of the lower numbered rooms are a longer walk and up and down some steps. The bonus to this is that the rooms are always quiet! We did get some noise from what we assume was the extractor fan in the kitchen in room 6. But it switched off at midnight.

The room was clean and well laid out, the bathroom was clean and well laid out but the radiator was on full so really warm, it had plenty of toilet roll an towels , hand wash and shower gel was provided. There was a wardrobe with hangers and a dressing table with mirror. A kettle with plenty of tea, coffee, milk and sugar was provided and a cup. There was also a hairdryer provided. All in all everything you need in a room.
I don`t think there was anything in the room i didn`t like.

We traveled up from West London on Tuesday 21st Jan 2025 for the Hull v QPR evening game. The hotel is in close proximity to Hull City FC, has plenty of free parking at front & rear of the hotel. The staff were just nice decent people, the pub serves up excellent cuisine, our room was a bit tired, decor a slight throwback to the 1970’s, but clean and cosy, TV okay, bed comfortable, shower absolutely fine, and a fair price… what’s not to like - Will stay again👍

This was a quick visit to see my son at Hull University. I’ve stayed here before and it’s best described as Cheap and Cheerful. It’s perfectly positioned for access to the University and there is parking on site. The staff are the outstanding feature of the hotel. They are cheerful, very helpful and polite.
My room was clean and comfortable, but a little tired. It could do with a refurb, but for the price you cannot really complain.

The ensuite room was very clean on arrival with tea and coffee facilities. The friendliest member of staff was definitely Pete who greeted us cheerfully every morning as he monitored breakfast requests, he was also a mine of information on places to visit etc. The rest of the staff need more training in dealing with customers with a friendly greeting
The toilet seat was falling off and the safety handrail on the stairs was coming away from the wall. Handrail was speedily fixed by Pete the all rounder breakfast attendant

The room was adequate for the price, it was extremely clean. Some things could be improved but then the price would naturally increase. At the moment it is good value for money. Yes it could do with a refresh but for the price it is clean and liveable. The area is quiet after 11 making this an ideal location compared to the city centre.
I wasn’t keen on the mattress or pillows but I also note I didn’t feel sore after sleeping on them. I would have liked more milk on the tea tray and for this to be replenished each day. The lighting could be better in room 15 - I know lamps have been added but it’s not the same but this is a minor thing.

Location. Cleanliness. Value The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The room was basic but absolutely spotless. Very clean. Bedding spotless. Bathroom very clean. We only slept there before a bowling tournament so we left at 8am and didn't have breakfast. It was perfect for us and great value.
The woman staying in another room!! A woman bashed on the door at 2am asking for a lighter. Not the venues fault at all.

Lovely, friendly staff. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The back door for hotel guests meant that we didn't have to go through the pub every time we went out. My gluten free dietary needs were well catered for both at breakfast and evening meals.
The radiator was constantly on the first night and made sleeping uncomfortable. I mentioned it the next morning and it was all sorted by the time we came back from our shopping trip.
