A comfortable night's stay in this small family-run hotel with tea/coffee facilities, and onsite bar and restaurant. Owner Nigel welcomed us and booked our early morning taxi to airport. Price includes breakfast but we had to leave b4 service began. Nigel offered cold options but we declined. He later served us a delicious evening meal cooked by lovely Jane of zingy, fresh prawn cocktail with lots of large prawns, and surloin steak; husband had tomato soup and an omelette. Mains came with the best chips we've ever had, and Nigel sources his meat from a local butcher. We had rm no.6 just off dining rm but very quiet and private. You couldn't wish to meet nicer, friendlier people, and we will definitely stay again when using BHX.

We thought hotel was walking distance to/from airport but it's a 10-min bus or taxi ride away. Taxi from was £16 (we did a Jet2 Twilight check-in), and taxi to was £12.50. As others hv said, shower area is small and electric so not much hot water!

Nigel was very welcoming and gave us a lot of helpful inside tips on navigating the way to the NEC for our conference. We saved a lot of money on parking because the Tri-star is right next to the bus-stop which takes 2 stops to get to the NEC for the conference. The bus also takes VISA which makes it super-easy to go to the convention centre and back to Tri-Star. They provide a full English breakfast, toast or eggs done in different ways as part of our stay and the beds were very comfortable. They had a nice pool table (which we didn't use unfortunately) and there were plenty of places to sit to lounge around and dining areas for guest. They also had a nice little bar but we were a bit too caught up to use it!

It is next to the airport cargo area and although the place was very well insulated there was a bit of beeping noise from moving heavy vehicles. The other issue is that the wifi is a bit slow so it took time to download stuff and it was a bit hard for zoom/Teams meetings because of bandwidth. Having said that, these were not showstoppers for us. Still a really great stay!

My room and bathroom were clean and spacious, which overlooked Birmingham Airport, perfect for any aircraft buffs. That said, there was no disturbance from aircraft what so ever, the building is triple glazed. There's a nice bar lounge and spacious dining room. The staff are very friendly and accommodating to anything you need. I had a good breakfast and evening meal each day of my stay. I would be happy to stay again.

It's a little way out from Birmingham International Railway Station and the NEC. It's reasonabley easy to get to by taking the X12 bus towards Solihull and getting off at Falcon Way, but the bus times seem a bit vague trying to return to the station. Something to bear in mind if you intend to use public transport. Otherwise, there are no other problems that I can see. .

We had a great stay at the hotel! Nigel was incredibly kind and helpful, he gave us directions to the city and assisted us with everything we needed. The breakfast was also excellent and very flexible with timing, which made our mornings much easier. Although the hotel is outside the airport, it's very close to the city centre. You can easily get there with just one bus, the X1, which only takes about 25 minutes and runs 24 hours a day. Super convenient and a great location overall. Thank you for the warm hospitality!

It was very welcoming and clean, and the location was easy to get to, the hotel has its own parking, which was an added bonus. We had a comfortable nights stay. The hotel was ideal, we booked for an overnight stay for a concert (Deep Purple). It made our trip an easy, pleasant one. We would definitely recommend this hotel. It was also lovely to see the aircraft, landing, and taking off, yet there was no noise (triple glazing). The bar and lounge were also a plus, the breakfast was delicious, and attention to detail was noticed. Nigel, the host, was very helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Nigel and his mum were excellent hosts, and they couldn't do enough for you. The room had everything you could need, and although a little tired, had everything we needed. We had our evening meal there, and Nigel spent time chatting and getting to know us which was great.

When we first arrived it was freezing cold everywhere, but this was due to there not being many guests and the radiators had been turned down throughout the property. This was easily resolved by turning the radiators up!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals were very good. The location is great. with the hotel being close to bus stops for NEC (only two bus stops away from NEC) or Birmingham Central. Rooms were clean and matress was comfortable. View of airport runway from the window of our room was a bonus to see airplanes taking off and was not very noisy due to the good level of glazing (slept well).

Central heating went on/off during the evening leaving the room feeling on the cool side. This was mentioned to the staff and a oil filled radiator was provided and sorted the issue. Wi-Fi just acceptable for HD streaming on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed but buffering was an issue on one night. No shaver power point in the bathroom of the room we were in. Main room with en--suite that we stayed in was a bit 'tight' but very workable for a short stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Tri Star Hotel. Nigel was most accommodating and helpful. When I explained I had slight mobility issues, he immediately arranged for a ground-floor room for me. The room was excellent, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was freshly cooked to order, (not kept warm as in a help-yourself buffet). Parking was easy and the location for the airport and NEC are excellent. I will most certainly stay there again, (and again).

There was nothing that I didn't like.

The room was basic but very clean and comfortable. Excellent sound proofing and comfortable bed - I slept very well. The breakfast was well cooked and tasty and the staff were very friendly. I felt very welcome. Very short drive to the NEC which I needed. If you love planes this would be the perfect room as you can see Birmingham Intl runway from the bedroom window. More affordable than many of the other hotels nearby

Shower was a little small but not too bad. Nothing I really didn't like.

Nigel was so accommodating,even making sure if he wasn’t there that we would still be able to get in early . Nothing was too much . Room 11 was clean and the beds were so comfy . Best night sleep for a long time . Nigel arranged the taxi in the morning to take us to the airport which is literally 5 mins in the cab. Wouldn’t advise walking ,busy road . We ate at the hotel and the food was lovely . Would definitely stay again and recommend it to others
