The breakfast was excellent...tastey, local ingredients and with prompt service. We were asked to book the time in advance the night but that was O.K, it enabled us to plan our morning and didn't have to wait to be seated. We were able to have our meals with the dog as we ate in the bar. We had a lovely evening meal from the extensive Thai menu and they were very accomodating. Nice to see the hotel is used by locals and travellers alike and it was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is only 550 yards from the Showground (we were attending an event there and the reason for our stay), so couldn't be more convenient. It is a beautiful part of the country.

The room we were in is a little compact if you are staying with a large dog (as we were), but it is clean and the furniture is of good quality. The shower is of good size despite the ensuit being small but it is well lit and again the fittings are of a good quality. The whole room was meticulously clean. As it is an old Inn, we had to contend with some steep stairs that can be awkward with a dog (we normally try to find somewhere with ground floor rooms), but the proximity to the showground outweighed the inconvenience. There is a lovely enclosed garden to walk the dog for late night potty breaks and it is well lit.

The bed was really comfortable I had a great night's sleep and I usually don't sleep well. Lots of complimentary toiletries in the bathroom which was a nice touch. The usual soap, shampoo etc but also, toothbrush, shower cap, razor, cleansing pads, in fact they catered for anything you might have forgotten. Selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate in the room, bottle of water and biscuit seemed thoughtful. A very short walk into Builth Wells.

We booked this hotel at the last minute without researching the area or the venue, so we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the facilities. Every detail of the room was top-notch, and the attention to detail made it feel very cozy and welcoming. The bedding and mattress were incredibly comfortable, and the room was so quiet that we enjoyed an excellent night’s sleep. We also loved the smart TV, which worked perfectly and even gave us a good laugh when we saw the recent YouTube searches 😅. This hotel offered great value for money, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Builth Wells.

The staff was exceptionally friendly. The food was simply great--both dinner and breakfast. Our rooms were tidy and neat, newly refurbished. We have got a very positive impression from this stay

Stairs and passages are a bit narrow (it's an old building). There was noise from the traffic (the road was right under our windows). I guess, both issues are hard to fix, but I mentioned them for the next guests to be aware of.

The location is fantastic, offering a beautiful view of the village and being very close to the river. The building is very well-maintained and clean. The bar area is cozy and comfortable, and there is a beautiful breakfast area with well-presented background music. The breakfast is very nice, and the staff is very friendly.

Less a criticism and a relatively minor thing, but the TV in our room had a broken wifi module and couldn't be connected to the internet for Netflix, etc. But as stated, this was a very minor issue.

Slightly on the high size considering my small appetite as I normally only have a single weetabix for breakfast The evening meal was very enjoyable

The second bed in the twin bed room (family room) was not solid construction and I was unsure about using it, we were two members from the extended family and did not wish to share a double bed We wish to tour Wales again, however we would not want this particular room again

wonderful place with wonderful people. thank you for a good time, wonderful food at dinner and breakfast. Loved everything from the location to the food. The rooms are amazing, clean and have everything you need from coffee and tea and water to a toothbrush and razor! everything is thought out! the bed is comfortable, the room is neat and beautiful, even authentic! the food is perfect! I recommend it to everyone. I can't imagine better. thank you!!!

there is not a single thing not to like

Very good breakfast plenty to chooses from staff were very attentive to your needs. I dined at this wonderful hotel on both nights of my stay. The food was exceptional choosing a Thai Curry. This was the best Thai Curry i have ever tasted cannot remember the name of the dish but just ask for either 14 or 16 with coconut rice. Sue was my host, and she made my stay a very enjoyable one. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. I will definitely stay again.

Nothing not to like. Bluith Wells is a stunning Welsh town in Mid Wales the locals are great 10/10

The room was nice and big. There is free parking onsite. The restaurant has a nice tastefull decor. The breakfast is very good

We were disappointed with the service for evening meal. We booked a table for 8 o clock as it was the only time we could have. Only to be told that we wouldn't be able to order until 8.20pm. To then be told that it would be 9 0 clock before we eat. The restaurant had nobody eating in there and the bar was quite so could not understand the delay. We left to go and look for a meal else where. It was a shame as we have eaten here before. The food is nice.

Fantastic hosts very attentive. The room was perfect with lots of added extra's which we found amazing for the price. It is also nice when travelling to have a nice selection of drinks in the room, but also enough to make more than one drink. The bathroom had so many extras from toothbrushes, vanity kits, shower caps, and lots more. There is plenty of choice for food. We loved our stay.
