Lovely hotel, great customer service from arrival to departure. Gorgeous breakfast, very comfortable bed. Loved the swimming pool and sauna. No complaints, just a wonderful stay. Felt very peaceful and relaxing.

Location ideal for our tour of the area. Easy booking in. Reasonable size room. Good parking close to hotel. Good spa facility but due a bit of tlc. Well laid out dining room with plenty of space between tables. Good breakfast.

Soap dispensers for the sink and over the bath empty and not refilled during our stay. Had to rely on dispenser in the shower. Basic housekeeping stuff! Being charged £5 to swap a scoop of ice cream for custard with my dessert is poor form and resulted in us going elsewhere on our second night. Hotel lost £70+ as a result.

it wasn't as antique as the picture suggests but it was pleasant enough as a building. The pool and spa was of good size and wonderfully heated and clean. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and priced accordingly, the rooms well proportioned, and comfortable. Although I found the double bed rather hard. The free drinks in the room were excellent and restocked each day. The wine and the coffee in the room first class. Jacuzzi bath very welcome. Reception very helpful and everyone very welcoming.

Just a very few things niggled. Only one set of towels set out, only one small bar of soap, no robes, only terrestrial tv, small windows, cramped shower cubicle with tricky to adjust shower, hot/cold water in in shower on a knife's edge! Room service did not supply the full menu until 10 pm as stated ... only until 9 pm. Not a big menu with some items unavailable. Food delivered to room without condiments.

Great family rooms - suites with separate loving room. Excellent spacious bathroom with shower and spa bath. Great breakfast. Staff excellent from reception to housekeeping and restraunt they were friendly, helpful and really tried to make the children feel welcome.

Taking the bus into Cambridge was less straightforward than I’d expected when booking the hotel. The hotel has some great child Friendly policies (like children eat free) but only if you remember to ask! The swimming pool has limited children’s swimming time (although this was clearly advertised in advance) and during this time there were also swimming lessons making the small pool very limited in space.

Good spa, clean and comfortable room, hotel was relaxing, we felt relaxed just staying there all day with lunch and the spa, staff was friendly too.

Breakfast felt like it was all just about cooked. Everything could have done with a couple more minutes, felt like it was rushed out. Quality could have been better of the cooked breakfast too. Toilets in the spa, especially the men's, could have been cleaner. Dirty towels everything as no sign to say they go outside the changing room, some toilets out of orders as well with some roof panels missing dripping water down on you getting changed.

Breakfast was excellent, loads of lovely freshly cooked food. Great choice of fruit and yogurt. Had dinner 2 nights of the stay, the first night in the restaurant and had excellent service from Josh. Last night in the lounge as the restaurant couldn’t fit us in at the time we wanted. As friends we ordered at the same time but paid separately , unfortunately our food was delivered about 25mins after our friends which didn’t make them that comfortable. We had to follow up twice on the delivery but the food when eventually delivered was good.

Brilliant, great-sized rooms that are well decorated and furnished. Good parking, good location near supermarket and great transport links to Cambridge.

The hotel pool and spa are shared with general public and the pool is unavailable between c. 3-7pm to hotel guest owing to public swimming lessons. Also, the lobby and entrance are shared with public (mainly families with young kids) which makes the entrance occasionally feel like a local leisure centre. It would be strongly recommended that the pool and public entry would be via a separate entrance. Also, on Friday evening, several parents were enjoying numerous drinks downstairs while the kids were running a riot so other guests weren’t able to enjoy the hotel bar or other communal areas.

A great stay, lovely suite with 2 double beds and massive bathroom. Pool facilities where great for the kids and breakfast was really well catered for with plenty of choice and friendly staff. The rooms where cleaned immaculately and there where plenty of snacks and drinks available that where really appreciated.

The only thing I didn't like was when returning to my room after breakfast in the morning, the cleaning staff where all congregated in the corridor and sat on the floor with legs out and leaning against the walls outside their office. I know staff have to have meetings etc but this just looked a bit unprofessional as we where walking through.

first morning we were up early for breakfast around 8.30, having booked a treatment, everything was nice and hot and no waiting. food was excellent, all of it, hot and cold sections. no complains.

However the second day was totally different, got up a little later 9/9.30 and there was hardly anywhere to sit, had to wait for a table then for it to be prepped, and didn't get an English breakfast as you kept running out of food on offer. I waited a full 10+ minutes for sausage and bacon and it never arrived, so I gave up, had cereal, toast and fruit. There seemed to be an inability to cope with the people coming down slightly later, I'm know it was nice because I had it the previous day, just wasn't prepared to wait in a line while food was cooked, and the food on the side was getting cold.

There was a miscommunication between a member of staff on reception who told us the gym and swimming pool were not included and we would be charged twenty pounds each for using it a day When we checked out at the end of our stay we were told it wasn’t I realise that we should have double checked during the week as in the wording it does say it can be used ,and I also asked a member of the gym team , so I feel this needs to be made clear to all staff that it is free to use
