The house, location and facilities were unique. It really felt like a Manor House and not a hotel. We loved the vibe and the grounds, and the room. A bit of feedback below on the app feature but I will say it worked for me and is good innovation by the owners.

The bathroom was a little basic and didn’t have any toiletries, although I know this is advised on the website. There were a few guests with us on arrival struggling with the app. Some were complaining. I actually quite liked the concept and it worked for me, but possibly harder for others, like the elderly. I would maybe suggest doing a video tutorial on how to access the hotel for guests before they arrive?

Brilliant location, great room, nice additions such as coffee and snack vending machines plus the options of buying a breakfast relatively close by.

When I requested to park my van during the day to pick up after work, I was first sent an email saying that I could and that there would be no charge. Then I was later phoned and told I could park during the day but only if I paid £20, which I declined because there is 'park n ride' free parking option 2mins away. I was appalled that this fact was not brought to my attention and that they wanted £20 to park.

This is a brilliant place to stay for proximity to Cambridge. I really liked the rooms. It was all very easy and suited our needs perfectly. I can't comment on the staff as we didn't see anyone....

We are happy enough with a cold room but the beds need properly dressing with a decent duvet and blanket. We were freezing all night. I'm glad we packed our thermals and pyjamas but getting out of bed to find a blanket in the small hours is not fun. In this sense we weren't comfortable and we didn't have a good night's sleep unfortunately.

We stayed in ground floor of chalet block. Lovely, quiet grounds, nice room conveniently located on outskirts of Cambridge. We were initially concerned that being next to M11 it would be noisy. It wasn’t really. The room had double glazing and the M11 is screened by trees and in a cutting. It was dry weather - might be noisier in the wet - but we found that outside there was just a bit of continuous white background noise like a distant shore or waterfall. In the room with the windows shut, there was no noise from road. Our room had views over the grounds and a crowd of baby bunnies to entertain us!

The precise location was a bit awkward. The gated entrance is very close to the M11 sliproad. The park and ride (£4 adult return) was easy walking distance but there were no pedestrian crossings to get to it - pavement was not continuous. Sometimes you were walking over uneven grass verge to reach level pavement/safe crossing point. Have a look on Google StreetView to get a feel for what I mean. Internal sound insulation in room wasn’t very good. You could hear water draining from showers (it felt like drain pipe was in the corner of the room), footsteps overhead and occasional conversation.

It is just wonderful. The place, so quiet, beautiful, in the nature, with wild rabbits running around. The hotel itself is luxurious, classic countryside hotel. Spacious and cozy rooms with nice views. The price is very good. I was at the academic conference and my colleagues mostly were staying in the city. One colleague got a hotel with a slightly higher price than Rectory farm’s but she was complaining how horrible it was. And I heard others complaining about hotels. I felt we got the very good value for the price.

I would prefer more fruits and vegetables for breakfast. It is not up to the hotel, but to city municipality - for pedestrians to cross the street to get to the hotel is dangerous.

Beautiful property overall, great location. I enjoyed the horses in front of my window the most, great for a city break.

Upon arrival, finding the reception was very hard. There were no clear signs and another guest had to show me where it is. The door was closed, which was very weird. Reception should always be open and welcoming. There was no sign on the door that this is reception. The lady did not ask me anything, did not explain anything about the property, just handed me a key. She did not check my ID, felt like it could have been anyone checking in and that did not feel safe. I told her my name and she handed me the key and that was the full interaction. Not a good impression of hospitality.

First and foremost the location is beautiful. Surrounded by stunning countryside. Beautiful property and the chalets beside the main building are really pretty. Our room was on the ground floor in one of the chalets and had bunnies running around outside the window which was lovely. On arrival we were upgraded to a larger room (without even asking). The lady we met at reception was really friendly and helpful. You are left to your own devices which I like. There’s a room in the building where you can buy tea, coffee and hot chocolate from a machine and a vending machine for snacks etc which was great for a midnight snack! Large car park only a short distance from any of the rooms. Bed was really comfortable and huge! Lots of storage for clothes etc and tea & coffee making facilities in the room. TV took a minute to figure out but not long. We went out to eat at a local pub which is lovely and the 3 of the local pubs offer 10% off food if you are staying at Rectory Farm. Food was amazing! We paid £5 for a taxi to the pub but realised in the morning that there was a footpath to ‘The Plough’ which we would have used but didn’t realise. We didn’t stay for breakfast at the hotel so I can’t comment on that but I would try the breakfast next time as we will definitely be going back. The way I would describe this place is like something from the TV show ‘Four in a bed’ it’s very pretty and clean and has nice furniture. Overall a lovely, homely atmosphere. Would definitely 100% recommend to couples or families! And wheelchair access!

Only a couple of minor issues, the bathroom had no ventilation so after we both showered the whole bathroom/bedroom was steamed up. All the windows and mirrors etc. we stayed in June so it was quite warm already so a bit hot and sweaty trying to get ready to go out for dinner. There was no plug socket on one side of the bed (my side of course) which meant I had to charge my phone across the room which was a little annoying when the alarm went off in the morning. However these are minor issues as I say and wouldn’t put me off staying again.

The location is lovely, surrounded by open fields but minutes from exit 13 of M11 (which you cannot really hear). I walked through fields to The Plough in Coton and had a lovely meal. Property a lot bigger than I expected. Room 4 in main house was quiet and big enough for solo traveller. Kettle etc provided which was a nice touch for the price. Large car park. Nice garden centre and cafe 5 mins walk away.

They host weddings so may be a bit noisey if there was an event on. Breakfast at £16 was a bit pricey and most people seemed to eat elsewhere. It was served in a lovely dining room and freshly made, not self service.

This property is an excellent place to stay. Fantastic grounds. The breakfast, however, was extremely disappointing. Advertised as buffet style breakfast, including butchers sausages with full continental selection. The continental selection was poor. The breakfast was not buffet style, it was delivered on a plate to the table. For the price of £16 each,we were expecting a lovely breakfast. How wrong we were. The hash brown was mushy, the single sausage was certainly not a butcher's sausage. The whole breakfast was tiny. I would value it at around £6. We would certainly stay there again but for the price of two breakfasts, we could use the park and ride to the Regal in Cambridge, have two breakfasts which are twice as nice and still spend less than £20.
