More to the point is what we didn’t like about this property and the answer is nothing. This without doubt was one of the best Hotels that we have stayed in. The staff were all excellant and very friendly, the breakfast was superb and the dinner menu was very extensive, there is a lovely outside terrace overlooking rolling hills and countryside. Our room was large and well equipped with all the luxuries you need, massive bathroom with free standing bath and huge walk in shower, and best bit of all it came with A/C that was fully adjustable from the room and it was very quiet when running.

Absolutely nothing

The standard of this B&B far exceeded expectations. The room was modern, spotlessly clean, very well and tastefully decorated. Quality of dinner and breakfast were outstanding. Lovely inclusive touches like a welcome afternoon treat, bath robes, large well-appointed bathroom, just to name a few (I don't want to spoil all the surprises). Great value! One of the best accommodation facilities we stayed in for our 6-week holiday. A short, pleasant drive from Chesterfield in the beautiful Peak District.

Absolutely nothing

Room was good size (bigger than we expected), had a safe and drinks facilities fully replenished each day and had a fridge with proper milk in bottles not not plastic cartons. Very clean and comfortable, seating area, and a larger than usual bed. Bathroom facilities were also very good. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. We ate in the restaurant each evening which had a good menu and was of an excellent standard. The staff at this hotel are a young and enthusiastic group and are some of the best we have ever met. All with no exception, knew their jobs, were efficient at them, were very helpful and friendly and always had a smile on their faces even at the end of a long shift, the owners should be very proud of them. The service was always faultless. Hotel is also in excellent condition with good, easy parking

We could not fault our stay

This place is exceptional! Back from another visit to The Peacock for our wedding anniversary, where they wished us happy anniversary on arrival, personal note in the room and presented us with a complimentary dessert after our meal. We visited this time in the summer where it really comes alive. Fantastic, ample and polite staff who genuinely want to be there (that doesn't happen alot). Ample restaurant seating inside and out. Brilliant evening meals and breakfast options. Cosy room with all essentials including a fridge. Just enough parking spaces and we managed to get one even on Barlow Carninal day - parking on the road also. This establishment is a well oiled machine, other places need to take note! We'll be back in the future, again....

Absolutely nothing

This is a gem of a hotel in a small village in Derbyshire. We were returning home from a stay in the Lake District and Loch Lomond so needed a place to stay overnight. We were so pleased to have booked this hotel. It is a really nice pub offering great food and drink our evening meals and our breakfast was superb. The staff were very nice and attentive and our room was so nice and relaxing. This was such a lovely find we had a great time. There were little touches everywhere that made us smile. My wife was very impressed with a gluten free scone left in our room on arrival not seen that anywhere before.

Small point was no gf cereal on offer for breakfast.

Our room (their best room I believe) was outstanding. The Superking bed was very comfortable, decor was pleasing and stylish, coffee and tea facilities top notch. The bathroom, complete with a quite new, quality bath and walk-in shower with a large rain shower head alongside a hose head, had a heated floor and towel rail and lots of space. The interior of the pub was stylishly decorated to a high standard, with a welcoming, cosy ambience. All of the staff were pleasant, friendly and keen to please. Food was of decent quality and generous portions. The views from the restaurant and outer deck are of rolling countryside. Car parking was adequate and there were several locations for charging EVs.

Public transport is infrequent so a car or taxi is required in practice.

The whole experience - easy parking right in front of the door. Check in was efficient and smooth, the room "Goldings" was beautiful. Pristine, beautifully decorated, tea coffee making facilities, biscuits and a fresh scone with jam and cream. Wonderful fully equipped bathroom with roll top bath and walk in shower. Really comfortable bed. Really quiet room. A really good nights stay. The breakfast was wonderful too. Cereals, avocado poached egg and bacon. :) I bought some greeting cards by a local craftsperson, which was a lovely bonus.

The supper we had was good as was the wine. The room was fine - we did want a bath but were told that there was only a room with a shower available The location of The Peacock is nice The whole place is always a delight to come to

Having the option of a bath - I am not convinced that everyone else who had booked a room had asked for a bath as I was told. The breakfast was OK but could have been much better - suprisingly the cooked items were a bit bland and overcooked The shower we had did not have an adequate place to retain soap and the shower floor itself was slippery and needed a shower mat to be safer - there was also no assist handles in the shower either

We liked the room and dinner. Breakfast was good but not excellent as we had just had better at the Shoulder of Mutton in Kirkby Overblown.

There was nothing about the place that we didn't like. The furnishings were tastefully done, the staff were very cheerful and polite. The evening meal was tasty. The cooked breakfast and cereal serving were ok. The one issue which left a bad impression was a fee for 'late checkout' which was made without prior warning during payment; we checked out just before or after mid-day. We have stayed in hotels all over the world from Australia to the US and Canada and never experienced this before. We found it petty.

we loved everything about the peacock, every single member of staff was so welcoming, smiley and genuinely wanted to help, the food was amazing with a lovely menu choice and the restaurant and rooms were beautifully decorated. We were lucky enough to have great weather and their outside seating area with gorgeous views was amazing. The room was beautiful, well equipped with some lovely thoughtful touches, there was everything we needed and more for a comfortable and happy stay, coffee machine and a great selection of teabags etc, a lovely fresh scone and fresh cream/jam and there was some milk in the fridge for our arrival. Super comfy beds and pillows, lovely fluffy towels and The White Company toiletries. It was such a calming place, it is truly special and we didn't want to leave...we will definitely be back
