Pros: Lovely kind staff, really excellent breakfast, clean, comfortable rooms, good location. Pleased to be charged just £20 for the zed bed for my son. Cleaning very well done. Air con worked well.

Cons: The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night two out of the four nights. No apology or acknowlegment of the inconvenience. The staff were very friendly but some were quite junior and not very knowledgeable i.e. unable to give advice on good walks or really say much about the local area other than recommend the Mulberry for dinner (which was good) - some training needed. The 2 for 1 burger deal was OK -burgers a bit overcooked and bread was soggy with the amount of sauce/liquid/slaw which should have been on the side. Just a heads up that the parking is a bit of a nightmare - there's a large enough space opposite the pub but it's super dangerous coming out of there as vehicles come down the hill too fast.

We had a fabulous stay at The Swan — what an absolute gem of a pub! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming — nothing was too much trouble, and you could genuinely feel the care they put into everything. The pub itself is delightfully eclectic, full of charm and character. Every corner has something fun or quirky to comment on. And the food… wow! Every dish we had was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. We had originally thought we might try a few other places in the village, but after one meal at The Swan and a glance at other menus, we didn’t budge — we ate there all three nights, and loved every bite! Highly recommend this spot for anyone who loves great food, great company, and a place with real heart and soul. Can’t wait to return!

Everything about the property was perfect. It was clean, had a pleasant atmosphere and plenty of charm. The rooms were lovely, the beds were so comfortable I didn’t want to get up! The bathroom was great with really nice toiletries and snuggly fluffy towels. The air conditioning was an added bonus too. Our dog was made to feel very welcome. The staff were fantastic. They were friendly, helpful and professional. Breakfast was an absolute pleasure. We had an evening meal and the food was delicious. We had a fantastic stay. Big thanks to all of the staff from the cleaning team to the kitchen team to the front of house team, they all do a brilliant job.

Comfy pub . Good atmosphere. Very nice kind and considerate staff. Nice bar bedrooms and restaurant area. Everything you want from a pub with rooms. Good menu. Lovely breakfast . Very good parking. Large free parking area. I had asked for a twin room. The message from booking.con said the pub would accommodate if possible. When we arrived the request hadn't been requested but the staff went out of their way to change the bedroom format for our requirements and gave us a free pot of tea whilst it was sorted out. Couldn't fault it. Well done the Swan

The road outside was busy. There was double glazing and I slept like a log but if the window was open it may have been noisy.

The room was a good size and very quiet which was what I'd asked for. I was pleased to see there was an iron and ironing board though I did not need to use them. There was a good choice of things for breakfast.

The small cups for use with the coffee machine were not replaced on my second day. As a woman travellng to a formal dress event I would have appreciated a full length mirror,on the inside of the wardrobe door. A magnifying mirror for applying make up would also have been appreciated.

Location: Situated in an idyllic village setting—peaceful, picturesque, and full of charm. Parking: Conveniently located directly opposite the pub. Easy access with plenty of space available—couldn’t be better placed. Room: Exceptionally spacious and equipped with all the amenities you’d expect in a high-end hotel. Immaculately clean, beautifully appointed, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—an excellent night’s sleep. Bar: Fantastic selection of drinks—whatever you’re after, they’ll have it. The bar is very well kept, and the garden area out the back is simply magnificent—perfect for relaxing. Service: The staff were outstanding—genuinely friendly, professional, and full of good humour. You really couldn’t ask for better hospitality. Food: Breakfast was top-tier, with both a full continental and a cooked-to-order full English available—served piping hot and absolutely delicious. The evening meal was equally impressive. I’d highly recommend the steaks, which are dry-aged on the premises. My business partner's and I sampled a range of dishes from the dinner menu, and everything we tried was exceptional—on par with what you’d expect from a high-end restaurant. Atmosphere: Warm, welcoming, and relaxed. All public areas were spotlessly clean, thoughtfully decorated, and well maintained. Combined with the incredibly friendly staff, it made for a truly memorable and enjoyable stay. Value: An absolute bargain for the quality of service, accommodation, and food on offer.

Fairly last minute booking. Just wanted a night away me and dog. Lovely pub set in beautiful village. Big inside with plenty of seating. Dog friendly all round and he was made very welcome. . Food was lovely fillet steak was amazing was half tempted to order a second. Nice bottle of wine all reasonably priced. As it was last minute they only had family size room left which was huge with separate lounge. Large walk in shower with the most powerful shower ever. Shame room was main road side but does go quiet at night. Nice breakfast also. Just what I wanted.

It's a shame the walls between rooms are so thin or not soundproofed. Could hear the next rooms text messages alarm and talking to well passed midnight. But other than that it's lovely and worth a visit.

Really lovely pub with a nice feel to it. Lots of space and beautiful boutique rooms. We were in room 11, a quadruple family room with our dog. Lovely surprise in the room with a dog bed and bowls plus a welcome treat box with poo bags, a rope toy and treats. Nice spacious room, comfortable large bed with a sofa bed too, with good en-suite. Breakfast included in room price with continental on offer and then full cooked breakfast available too. A great way to start the day.

The shower looked good but went from very hot to very cold.

Great location, good food, breakfast includes a continental and a cooked menu which is great, staff is friendly and accommodating, room is spacious and comfortable, well equipped to some extent although a mini fridge would have been nice to have in the room.

Cleanliness was lacking to an extent. Dusty bedside tables and other bits like the corner of the ceiling, the top of the TV, sheets had some marks and unfortunately, sound isolation is not the best. The stomping can be heard across multiple rooms, you can hear people snoring and talking (I know it's a quiet area and an old building) but just worth pointing out. Not a massive deal but for a light sleeper like me, meant I went to bed and woke up to whoever was above me.

Very good stay, nice evening meal with excellent steak, dry aged. Very nice female jazz singer improved the experience furthur! Breakfast was also relaxed with jazzy soundtrack creating laid back chill mood. Room was elevated by tastefull decor and Nespresso, with very good walk in shower and expensive toiletteries. Small touches which go a long way! Chiddingfold is beautiful village which also helps for a beautiful weekend break. Well done the Swan!
