Excellent welcome. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food very good, breakfasts and Sunday Roast. Staff kind and thoughtful who went over and above to make my birthday breakfast memorable. Delightful, historic inn set in a very pretty village. Extremely dog friendly. Good size room and bathroom with large shower

Requested single beds but didn't anticipate double bed being split into 2 single 2'6" beds which were quite narrow and therefore not so comfortable. Wooden bathroom window had mould on it, didn't open and needs attention. Grouting in shower cubicle needs refreshing.

I enjoyed the bath, though surprised to find other clients steal the bath plug. Perhaps I should have seen about a refund as paid for 2 people staying not one. Food was delicious though expensive, I suppose that’s the problem of visiting Surrey. The only grumble I have was bumping my head on the low beam, totally my fault.

I would have rated the Onslow higher if the Wi-Fi was accessible through a password, I turned my laptop on flight mode to prevent outsiders accessing my laptop. Having so easy access to the Wi-Fi / router makes me scared of criminals accessing personal data.

Right on the high street, with friendly staff and a large comfortable room - biscuits and bottles of water were a nice touch. The room was full of character with wooden beams and uneven floors reflecting its age, but the facilities were right up to date. We didn't get a chance to try the lovely free standing bath, but we appreciated the separate walk-in shower after doing the nearby parkrun. Good food and beer in the evening and a good choice of breakfast options. The little courtyard out the back was a nice place to have a drink.

A little bit noisy late evening, but only to be expected over a pub on a Friday night, and it soon quietened down. We didn't manage to get a parking space when we first arrived, but it wasn't far to the pay-and-display car park (free overnight) and we did get a space to load the bags when we left in the morning.

Everything in the room (including the noise level after 11 pm) was perfect!! I was a solo traveller and felt safe and well looked after. Would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend!

A bit pricey. And a restaurant discount for those, who stay at the hotel would be a good idea, as I dined somewhere else. Breakfast was ok with the best sausage and bacon I tasted; but poached eggs were pretty much hard boiled. Tomatoes weren't great either.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and comfortable, especially bed. The complimentary drinks and biscuits were just right for a one night stay. Breakfast was good.

Just being pernickety. Overall our stay was very nice. Would have welcomed a full length mirror in the room; a light over the bathroom mirror to do makeup and somewhere to put wash bag etc in the bathroom other than on the floor. The shower was clean but could do with a re-grout.

I have been staying for 7 nights in this pleasant old country pub/hotel. I stayed in room 1, which is very cosy and features exposed beams and a large bathroom with a freestanding tub. Overall the whole property has been renovated very tastefully, still preserving the Charme of a building dating back to the 17th century. The breakfast was every day very good, there was enough choice to have a different one every day. Staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and professional. I will definitely return when the occasion arises.

Lovely room, well furnished, clean and comfortable. Lovely toiletries too. All done to a very high standard. The bar and restaurant likewise. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Enjoyed dinner there.

One point off a 10 for just a couple of niggles. The shower temperature fluctuates randomly. The breakfast was over-cooked - the bacon was incinerated and the poached eggs were hard-boiled.

The venue was quirky and well decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the waiting staff and barman. The food was delicious.

The only negative point was our bedroom (number 1), was over the kitchen and each time someone went into (I’m guessIng), the cold store the door shut with such force that it shook in our room. Thankfully it stopped before too late but started again at 7am. That really was the only downside and because everything else was so good I feel bad in mentioning it. I just think it’s worth noting.

I loved everything about this place. The staff were mainly young people, but they all knew what they were doing and worked incredibly well as a friendly and very happy team. It was a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where you were notrushed at any time. The food was absolutely excellent and cooked to perfection. I would go so far as to say that the food was the best that I have eaten in any place that offers accommodation that I have ever stayed in.

I enjoyed the food I ate on my arrival evening, menu is varied and the food was very good quality. On arrival was greeted by a really friendly lady who confirmed parking arrangements and showed me to my room. Breakfast next morning was very varied indeed, the people who work in the Richard Onslow are all very welcoming and interact with the guests to check everything is as it should be.

I was emailed my invoice the next morning and I replied stating that the room I was in didn't have any working heating, it wasn't an issue for me to get to sleep but it was cold overnight.
