Staff were excellent there and very welcoming. A bonus that we could have a very good evening meal there too. The price was very competitive (maybe because it was off season?). The room was fine and the bed was very comfortable.

I don't want to fault the room too much because of the building's age. It could be tidied a little bit more with the paintwork. Breakfast could have a few other choices other than cooked, for instance cereal, museli, toast and jam? I suppose it could get noisy with the pub downstairs and boy racers outside. Fortunately it was ok on the weekend we were there.

Good location for Goodwood and liked that there's a pub/restaurant attached so we didn't have to worry about where to eat. Staff very friendly, good food and drinks, room was a really good size. Beds were surprisingly comfy given that they were super soft and bouncy. Lovely quiet location.

Like all the other reviews, the hotel is really outdated. The pub is completely different, really nicely decorated but the rooms are dated and well worn. Our shower head really needs replacing as a lot of the holes are clogged up although still usable. Stains on the bedroom carpet, curtains as old as my nan, could also do with better ventilation. Saying all this though, the bedding and towels were clean and for what we needed, it did the job and I would stay again.

Visiting relatives and this was ideally situated. Our room was clean and functional with an excellent bathroom and shower. All people working in the hotel were pleasant and very helpful. Lively bar with live music on the Friday night we were there. All in all we had an excellent 4 days at this hotel.

No complaints excellent choice at breakfast and evening meals were also good. Service quick and efficient. Would happily recommend this hotel.

I've used this hotel several times whilst I was in the area, and it has always been a reliable, comfortable establishment. The hotel is situated in the village of Hindhead with excellent main road access to places in Surrey, and being a few miles away from Guildford and Godalming. My room was comfortable and spacious and had no issues during my stay. The hotel has ample parking for guests, in the car parks. There was a restaurant and breakfast options (extra paid) but I didn't use this. I would use this hotel again based on experience with it.

Some guest may be put off by the house building site opposite currently going on, but in general it's a minor consideration. No issues with the hotel. Just to be aware, check in closes at 11PM at night, so consider this if you are arriving late.

Nice bar and restaurant, friendly staff, brilliant location for cycling the King Alfred's Way cycle route. There are facilities for hosing down your bike (KAW is a lot off-road) and they allow you to store bike in room.

The room I had was in the annex which was much cooler than the rest of the hotel and smelt of mould. There was mould round the windows and room was in need of some TLC. That said bed was very comfortable and got good night's sleep. I suspect this part of the hotel has not been refurbished as much as the main part and no doubt it will be improved over time. To be fair, I did ask for a ground floor room for storing my bike so that;s probably why I got put here so no complaints.

I reviewed this hotel several times on Booking after using it's facilities and have nothing extra to add here so will refer readers and possible guests to earlier reviews for full detail: all I will say again here is the Devils Punchhole remains a reliable, good choice for staying in the Surrey area and is accessible for many of the destinations (Guildford, Godalming etc).

Nothing springs to mind, except as with many hotels, these days, breakfast at the hotel is now a paid for option

Great location, spacious room, parking, nearby chippy if you just wanted something different from hotel food, nice staff, nice breakfast & a reasonable price for 2 nights...we've stayed before so knew what to expect.

It's a bit dated but it is an old pub/hotel & if you're not too fussy & appreciate it's age & the fact their prices are reasonable...it's ok for a short stay. I think some of mattresses could be replaced as a bit uncomfortable but was too tired after a long journey to fuss about it. Maybe a bit of re-tiling in places would freshen up bathrooms but again for a couple of nights not a big issue for usd

We loved our stay at Devil's punchbowl hotel, staff are fantastic and the hotel is excellent value. We loved the vintage feel of the rooms as added to the character, bed was comfy and room had everything we needed. Had some of the best food at the restaurant - had a Valentine's themed meal which was cooked to perfection. Location perfect for walking with amazing views over the bowl.

Great location just off the A3 literally over the road to the National Trust Devil's Punchbowl. Comfortable bed in a quiet location lends itself to a great night's sleep. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. Nice cosy bar. Great value for money.

The rooms are very tired, but comfy bed and fine for a base whilst exploring the surrounding beautiful countryside.

Fantastic stay as always, yes it's tired, yes it's in need of updating but this comes at the cost of an increased price and losing its charm. Peter on reception is fantastic and nothing is to much of a bother. He is very friendly and a great asset to the hotel. He makes it feel like a home from home

Needs vending machines for the hotel side, I don't always want to sit in a bar to have a drink before bed.
