I stay in hotels all over the country, and I can honestly say this is 1 of the best I've ever stayed. We were given a free upgrade on arrival. The receptionist was wonderful. She showed us up to our room, unbeknown to me you get complementary slow gin in your room. More than enough for an evening. Also they have a room with complementary whisky in crystal decanter. You also receive if needed razor with cream toothbrush etc. The highest quality coffee you can find anywhere, chocolates. Fresh bottled milk. We also had complementary dressing gowns sleepers and there own bottled water, unbelievable value. The bed wash huge very comfy. Wonderful views over the massive garden area. The breakfast in the morning was I honestly think the best I have had anywhere. The highest quality meats, homemade pastries. All included in price. I paid £80 on booking.com. unbelievable I will be rebooking as soon as I possibly can. Thank you guys

It felt like a romantic, fairytale-like getaway! Such a cozy and lovely feeling and atmosphere. We loved it! The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had! There’s a sculpture park right across the road too. We went to it and it was a fun little hike with lots of different sculptures to look at. The staff were lovely. The building is well-kept with a classy and old-style to it. The rooms were immaculate! They even smelled nice and they offered pillow sprays. Room was equipped with complimentary tea, coffee, water, hot chocolate, chocolates, and even a bottle of celebratory alcohol ( I don’t drink so I don’t remember what it was). Very very nice hotel. We loved it! :)

The reason for the stay was in some way to have a night away for my wife to have a little break from some stress. On arrival and without knowing, the receptionist was extremely engaging and actually upgraded my wife to an incredible room/suite. This cannot always be done but this was a Sunday and more to the point is feedback to say that you never know how big or small the goodwill gesture, the impact can be significant so please as an organisation, recognise the receptionist that checked in Kate Rolland on Sunday afternoon/evening

We stayed in the Wentworth cottage which is situated at the rear of the hotel, we traveled with our westie dog who’s very nervous and susceptible to noise so the location was perfect it even had its own little garden, the receptionist really looked after us on arrival.

Everything was perfect and we will be back in September and hopefully we can stay again in the Wentworth cottage, our daughter lives in Haslemere so very close by so this is a perfect find for us for our twice yearly visit.

Our room was extremely cosy, clean and came with tea & coffee making facilities as well as complimentary sloe gin which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was superb with a wide variety of options served to your table (I had eggs royale on the first morning and a variation of a full English on the second - both were very tasty). We had dinner upon arrival which was also very good with something for everyone on the menu I believe. All staff we came across were polite, chatty and professional.

Our particular room backed directly on to the bar's garden which was quite noisy on the first evening up until 11pm but nothing overly late. We also thought dinner was quite expensive overall.

Even though it was under renovation, we still enjoyed our stay. The boutique, country style is lovely and the rooms were super comfortable. The bathroom was lovely and the Bramble products smelled amazing. The Sloe gin was a nice touch. The breakfast from the buffet to the cooked breakfast was sublime! The produce was delicious, which made for an exceptionally good cooked breakfast. The receptionist very kindly stayed on the phone as we drove down the very long and very dark road, when the sat nav stopped us way before the actual hotel.

A phone to order room service because by the time we arrived, super tired and flopped in the room, going back downstairs to order seemed too much. The lighting was too low, only having one spot light and a lamp. Even in the bathroom it was dimly lit. Not great for anyone applying make-up!

Beautiful room, beautiful property, staff were lovely. Gin in room and free whisky were a lovely extra. Apart from my slight food niggles listed below, it was faultless.

I ordered the full english breakfast, but don't like crispy streaky bacon, which I couldn't eat. It would have been good to have back bacon as a choice, or to be asked how I like my bacon cooked. We also ate in the restaurant and I ordered the steak. When it arrived, it was just literally a steak on a plate. Luckily, I had ordered a sauce and one side, but it would be nice to have some extras included. Salad? Tomato? Mushrooms? Chips should be included with a steak as standard, I shouldn't have to order ratta potatoes as a side.... Don't get me wrong, the steak, sauce and the potatoes were exceptional..

The staff were all amazing. Friendly, cheerful, efficient. The food was excellent - nothing at all that I didn't like. The bed was extremely comfortable.

The only reason I've given my review a 9 instead of a 10 was the limited facility in the room for dressing and preparing. Not enough hanging space on the wall hooks (they were clustered together so could only use alternate ones with hangers). No lighting suitable for a lady putting on makeup or doing hair even if they could actually use the dressing table (which is full with the kettle etc). To be fair this is a common complaint in most hotels - whoever plans them thinks of ambient lighting before functional lighting! Whilst the bathroom was actually amazing - huge in fact - this may have been excessive as more space was required in the bedroom really. Sorry if this seems picky, but we were going to a wedding and getting ready was a bit stressful without sufficient lighting and space!

The room was excellent. Warm, comfortable bed and everything you could need. We had dinner on one night that was extremly good and the breakfasts were some of the best we have ever had. All the staff were very well trained in customer service, friendly, effecient and went out of their way to help. The hotel is just finishing a refurbishment which has been nicely done to suit the age of the building. We really will go back again.

Nothing really. Creaking floorboards, but you dont like that, stay in a modern hotel!

Our stay was excellent the staff were very helpful & attentive . Very pleasant front of house lady . The rooms were excellent clean and full of character , just how we like it . Only one point to mention , the gin in the rooms is a lovely touch except the bottle is open and has been there for other guests ! if this was miniatures I would of had a gin but not knowing who had used the room before and may have drink from the bottle 🤷‍♀️ who know it was not got me . We will definitely be back and that you for our packed breakfast our balloon flight eventually got off the ground at 10am so our 5.30 am start was not needed 🙈🙈 all in all a great stop over thank you 🎉🎉

The open bottles of gin in the rooms should have been sealed , miniatures would be a better choice and sealed once use only ! Not for sharing with other guests !!
