Excellent comfortable bed and very clean hotel.

Staff brought our main meals out before our starters and when we questioned this, they told us they had forgot our starters. They then brought them with our main meals, which was not ideal. Also they then forgot to bring one of the starters out after we corrected them. However, they were very pleasant and apologised.

The cleanliness of the room and communal areas and the spacious rooms. It's a lovely hotel.

I had a housekeeper and the front desk/manager? knock on my door before 11! My check out was not til 11 so I thought this a bit rude quite honestly! I'm not sure why they did. I think they may have been in a hurry to turn the room around for next people but it felt a bit off. The toilet roll holder also fell off the wall and I explained to the manager and just got an 'ok thanks' I have stayed before but trying to rush me element has put me off returning. Otherwise great hotel and location.

The room was comfortable. We had an Afternoon Tea which was very good. The restaurant / bar menu was reasonably priced, as were the cocktails and wine. The Leisure Centre had plenty of loungers and chairs around the swimming pool. The restaurant staff were very efficient - clearing tables quickly.

The room had only one chair, no water glasses and no hairdryer (this was quickly solved after asking reception). The main jacuzzi was out of order and the hot tubs were dirty. One was cleaned during our stay, but within hours there was scum around the sides - perhaps the filter was not working properly.

Loved the location of the hotel, the staff were all kind and friendly and the property was quite clean and tidy. Our room was spotless. The facilities were top notch, the steam room was brilliant, the jacuzzi were spot on and the pool was also a nice touch. All was clean and the person at the desk where we got our towels from was quite helpful and polite.

Our room was quite hot during the night which made it quite hard to fall asleep. Had the window open but wasn’t much breeze and the road outside was a bit too load so took awhile to drift off to sleep. Didn’t really spend much time watching the TV but the controller wasn’t really working properly, not sure if the batteries were running out but was quite difficult to use.

Really lovely setting for this classic English Hotel. The whole place was exceptionally clean & tidy. The rooms are large & spacious, with quality fixtures & fittings, and overall a feel of something a little above the norm. Staff were friendly, helpful, & it was obvious they enjoyed working in this hotel. The fitness suite was immaculate & looked like money had been well spent. Great for a weekend away, family party, or, as in my case, a chance to recharge on your own in a quiet, relaxing environment, surrounded by gorgeous countryside. I was very impressed. Thanks.

There wasn't anything I found lacking in this hotel.

Lovely hotel with a chilled out feel, loved the swimming pool, hot tub (instead of out of order jacuzzi), sauna and steam room and glad it was open till 8.30pm as we arrived later than expected. Beautiful sunset on the garden verandah. On a humid evening, we couldn't turn the room radiator off but did have a fan and was able to open the window to let fresh air in during the night. Able to walk 5 mins to local garage which had an Asda express (subway and greggs too but not open in evening). Good for those who just want wine, snacks or a meal deal in their hotel room! Breakfast was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Easy check in/out but car parking system was a bit of a faff. Would stay again, thank you 😊

Easy to access, plenty of free parking (but remember to enter your registration number at the reception screen). Good changing rooms and swimming pool -open to swimmers and children at any time. Helpful staff in hotel and spa.

The Bar and restaurant was comfortable and nice staff. But the food was expensive for quite small portions. The kids menu also seemed pricey eg £5 humus starter, £4.50 for single scoop of ice cream. They had bottles but was surprised they didn’t have Hogsback beer from local brewery on tap?

When relaxing around the pool, a group of children enters and disrupts calmness , being loud and spraying water guns! Also all of them getting in the hot tub, for long time spans, I’m sure that wasn’t legal as they were under 14yrs , elderly woman with them tried to tell them to be quiet! My friend and I had to leave it was stressful!!.also everyone else left! I mentioned to the Manager of this and the reply was people don’t take any notice!? This spoilt the Spa/pool experience, which was an important part.

The property was very clean and the staff were lovely. It was very quiet. A place for couples and old people. My friend and I went for my birthday to just relax and chill. I did just that. I took a photo of our room (added) food was the best part! A Good English breakfast (we went early before others)

The sauna and steam room are tiny little boxes. Two at a time. The pool area was nicer. Tiling could do with a make over. Generally, pool area it looks like the picture online (added) could do with a refurbishment flooring. But it’s clean and simple.

The check-in was smoothly with a lovely receptionist. She explained where our room was, and luckily it was close to the spa facilities and the restaurant, but far away enough for it not to bother you (Room 113). There is plenty of parking on site, just don’t forget to register at the reception for the amount of days you’re staying (2 nights, is 3 days parking). The room itself was quite large with a sofa, double bed, desk, flatscreen tv (with streaming services!), ironing board and iron, hairdryer, coffee/tea making facilities and a safe (a tiny one). The bathroom came with a bath and a large rain shower as well. All was very clean. The pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were clean and not overfilled at the times we were there. It’s easy enough to get a towel at the desk and they also give a padlock (or 2x if you need them) for exchange of the room key. The restaurant is nice and the food was good as well (we had dinner here twice). The cocktails are also pretty good! The breakfast served was a buffet style and had almost everything you need in the morning (full breakfast included). There are lots of hiking routes from the hotel and you can be out all day if you want! We did a 10km walk and ended back at the Manor Farm Tea Room, which does a great lunch and afternoon tea. They also have a small craft shop next door, which is filled with handmade crafts.

We were missing a toilet brush in our bathroom! The restaurant lacks a bit of an atmosphere, candles on the tables would already make a big difference. The breakfast buffet could do with some sliced cheese and cold meats. There were pizza boxes left outside a room, which were there for quite a while during the day, until they were finally removed. They were attracting flies, which wasn’t very nice. The showers in the pool could do with an ice cold one, for when you come out of the sauna or steam room. The temperature of the pool was slightly too high, but that’s personal preference. Pool times in the weekend should be longer, as more people are staying in weekends, and it would be nice to be able to use the pool after dinner.
