Staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. Room was slightly smaller than expected, but bed was extremely comfortable and more comfortable importantly there was a fan provided. There was a mark on one of our tea\coffee mugs and there was a periodic drain smell smell coming from the bathroom which was unpleasant. Overall stay was good and as a stop over for nearby wedding we attended, we enjoyed our stay, with a much needed full breakfast next morning ( eggs of choice can be ordered on day) and lovely choice of pastries, cereal and fruit.

I can see why it's used for weddings. It is a beautiful place 😍. We couldn't fault our stay. We ate in the evening as we'd been travelling for hours and were starving. We had the Chicken and Beef pies respectively, and highly recommend them. They were delicious. We had an early start so didn't stay for breakfast, but if we had I'm sure it would have been just as good. An enjoyable experience all round.

The *only* downside is, if you are tall, like myself and my son, 5'10" and 6'3", beware of the beams. We almost brained ourselves a couple of times, even with the 'mind your head' warnings 😂 Beyond that I can honestly find nothing negative to say about our stay.

It was peaceful. Out of the way. Beautiful grounds. Quirky.

Breakfast. Hit and miss. Few croissants. Yogurts only one day. Not being refreshed. Had to wait for bits to be brought out. For cost of breakfast not worth money. Toasters took forever. Juices running out. Was disappointed. One day there was fruit. Hit & miss as to what you get. Staff should be filling up. It was not even busy. Had to keep asking. Room not refreshed one day. We hadn't stay an extra night due to commitments.

Lovely grounds and super comfortable room, very spacious, warm and welcoming and bathroom a good size. Perfect location for my work and dog friendly - great to have a room with access to outside grounds so very easy to exercise my dogs without trapsing through the hotel. It was a fleeting visit for me with late check in and early departure due to work so no time for food or drinks but on check in and departure staff were friendly and welcoming - will be returning.

Having some building improvements - not a negative at all as it didn't cause any disturbance - look forward to seeing the finished results.

I'm not sure why this review starts with a sad face but if it does, please ignore, it's great! Some reviews criticise this hotel but please remember it's 19th century! It's set in stunning grounds and is a beautiful building. Staff are fantastic, breakfast is great and the rooms, while varying, are very comfortable. Some have balconies or patio doors, others don't. Our room was gorgeous. Other reviewers across various sites, complain about door alarms and pipes. Honestly? It isn't a silent system and the doors beep if you haven't closed them properly but the noise is minimal. Lots of whingers out there! It's an idyllic setting so unless you're looking for high-tech, contemporary sleekness, this is perfect. Special mention to Nicky and Julie who are lovely.

The hotel was a beautiful old building set in stunning grounds. The room although very small had everything I needed for my one nights stay.

My only criticism which is not about the actual hotel or facilities, was that there were workmen directly underneath my room window in the grounds early in the morning and they were using a cherry picker to reach the guttering to work on. They actually raised the cherry picker so that the guy working was at eye level with my room window during my stay. I asked him if he could please wait as I felt my privacy had been compromised but despite asking he came back and carried on a short time after, even though my stay had not ended. On top of that the noise was horrendous.

Location was excellent staff were always helpful and friendly. A good place to meet up with our family and friends who live in the area while still giving us independance . Rooms were nice .

Unfortunately the evening meal was a great disapoinments and let down the what otherwise would have been a brilliant experience. The food was very poor over microwaved and rubbery .you would have done better not to have served such a poor meal as it detracted from the overall high standard .It is better not to do something than to do it badly . There are plenty of excellent ( the barn) restaurants within a few miles direct you guests to one of them . We did enjoys our stay .

The staff were amazing. Friendly and helpful, really putting the guests first. Excellent customer service which is rare these days. The Hotel is beautiful and in a lovely setting. We had a superior double room with a balcony overlooking the garden. The balcony was a definite bonus as the weather was very hot and it was lovely having the door open or to sit on with a coffee.

Old world charm, a good breakfast, and a lounge bar for those that want a nightcap before retiring for the evening. Good ventilation for the hot summer days. This hotel also has the "lesser-spotted free parking." Remember to say 'hi' to Fred on the staircase landing,

No elevator for luggage, but that would detract from the charm of the old world feel. Just something to bear in mind when hauling luggage up the stairs.

I was so happy that there was a bath rather than just a shower. The bedroom was very spacious with lots of cupboard and drawer space. The bar was lovely and felt luxurious, nice beer too! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The house, gardens and grounds are beautiful.

I did not like the road junction to get into the lane leading to the hotel from Farnham as turning right off the fast lane of the A31 into the little turning space before crossing the opposite carriageway was a bit scary. I would choose a different hall & stair carpet as it didn’t really go with the style and decor of the hotel.
