The quiet little village was a perfect location for us with all major amenities a short drive away. The cottage is cosy, clean and the host Sue was most welcoming. Our room was bright and had tea/coffee, milk, mini fridge and bottled water and much appreciated. Sue made a sumptuous cooked breakfast for us and we felt very comfortable and relaxed during our stay at Hillside. Private parking was a real bonus and there are two pubs within a few hundred metres from the property that served a wide selection of reasonably priced meals, (we dined in both and recommend them) a great stay and thanks Sue Jan and Steve

The breakfasts were excellent; nothing seemed to be too much trouble! Indeed, the landlady's general helpfulness couldn't be faulted. The "duck or grouse" warning signs over the entrance door and the staircase were also helpful; I'm short enough not to have to worry, but they could have been useful for taller visitors.

It's hard to think of anything. One VERY minor issue is that my room didn't appear to have a shaver point, but as I have a beard anyway that was hardly a problem. The phone signal (Vodafone) wasn't great either, but that certainly isn't the fault of the landlady!

The room was well equiped. Hanging closet and shelves, bedside tables with drawers, as well as a desk with kettle and coffee maker. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit salad then full English or eggs Benedict. There is parking, either behind the property or on the street. There is a pub almost opposite, and another in the village, though I didn't visit either. The owner was excellent, helpful and friendly.

The room was small, though fair for the price. It was fine for one person, but a couple would fall over each other. I had trouble spotting the place, as the sign was modest and amoung vegetation- but I phoned and the owner came out and waved, so not a big issue. The stairs might be a problem for less able guests.

The comfiest bed! Lovely room with everything you could possibly need for a nice stay. Room was small but I was travelling alone and there were plenty of drawers for storage should I have needed them. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of choices, all cooked fresh to order. Wonderfully clean room!

The sign at the front of the B&B wasn't overly obvious to see when driving so I did miss it the first time. Instructions on where is acceptable to park would also be nice, such as a sign that you can park at the rear/which one is their property from behind.

The location was lovely countryside village. Small road nearby but quiet otherwise. Hostess wonderful and accommodating. House is cute and quirky with some age to it but lovely. Shower hot and bed comfy. Rooms full of character. Breakfast was delicious and made to order with fresh fruit salad too. Vegetarian options which was tasty. Area lovely to walk around too with a millennium garden nearby and the scarecrow trail and lots of apple trees. Kids loved it. Pub across street which looked good.

All good, nothing to add here.

We had 2 nights here as we came down for a wedding Room was comfortable but small, which we didn't mind as only used to sleep in Host was brilliant...very friendly helped us with getting a taxi and even bought us a beer when we had to wait. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of cereals fresh fruit and full English cooked to oder. Lovely quiet little village....would definitely recommend Many thanks for a wonderful stay.

Nothing to dislike about the property. Just a word of warning that taxis are few and far between

The property was very comfortable, nicely furnished, clean and convenient (5 minutes to the nearby town of Crediton and about 20 minutes to Exeter). There is parking behind the B&B or on the residential roads next to it. I stayed in the B&B to visit friends in Sandford village who don't have a spare room currently. The hidden gem of this B&B is Sue. She is an absolute delight and made my stay comfortable and enjoyable, I shall definitely be back! She can't do enough for you and what she provided for breakfast was amazing. She is very flexible and responds promptly and helpfully if you need to get in touch with her. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, it was just what I needed. Best B&B stay to date. Thank you so much Sue, I'll be back at some point.

There wasn't anything I disliked

Amazing breakfast - very generous and it sets me up for the whole day. Lovely room - lots of complementary drinks, very comfy bed, complementary toiletries, lovely and cosy B&B. Owner very friendly, flexible on arrival time. Car parking available just behind the property.

Nothing. This B&B never disappoints - I've stayed a few times now and it's my 'regular' when staying in this area.

Lovely little village with 2 nice pubs, both do food and good beer. Family suite is excellent for a family with 1 or 2 children as they have there own room. It is also nice to have good coffee with fresh milk in the room as there is also a fridge and pod coffee machine.

The door was a bit tricky to close/unlock

Breakfast was very good & liked the little fridge in the room Host was very helpful in making sure we were very comfortable Nice to have the coffee machine even though we didn’t use it
