I genuinely can't fault our stay at Thorverton Arms. The staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating to our needs. The rooms were clean, and had everything needed. We brought our dog with us, who was welcomed with open arms. We ate at the pub both nights, and the food is great value, ready tasty, and huge portions. Breakfast options are also avaliable, through a form you fill in the night before, all are reasonably priced, and really good quality food. We stayed during the VE day celebrations, and there was a lovely atmosphere in the area.

Can't fault our stay at the Thorverton Arms.

We were very impressed with every aspect of our stay there . The hosts Mandy and Steve , plus the other members of staff were superb, they all delivered great customer service. The food, be it breakfast or evening meal is of a very high standard due to the sourcing of local quality ingredients. It is very reasonably priced too. The room and facilities were excellent also . The property has a rustic charm about it, and there is always a good vibe throughout. The room was very quiet even though the bar and restaurant are quite busy at times . Being in the heart of the village, there was no road noise either. Thorverton is a beautiful little village, with a lot of pleasant walks from the property. We would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again .

Nothing, everything was spot on , we both felt very relaxed there . Thankyou.

Although this hotel is in the middle of nowhere in a very quiet village the locals support it in spades. We expected to walk into maybe a handful of local boys propping up the bar, however the bar was full of very friendly cheerful locals. The landlord and landlady Steve & Mandy were grafting there socks off with a bar full drinkers and a big kid’s birthday party! But still had time to welcome us get us sorted with drinks and checked into are smashing cosy room. The food was tremendous and good value for money and the service and staff were excellent thanks Mandy and Steve for a great stay.

Beautiful place in a gorgeous village, really lovely staff and service. Food is exceptional, a little pricey but you have huge portions. The room was cosy and comfortable.

I’d rather my room had a window with a view as mine was on a slant with one curtain, still quaint though. Internet was not great to use for teams meetings if your there working but fine just for phone use etc. Shame you have to pre order breakfast in the evening as I never know what I want until the morning, so I didn’t have breakfast but I’m sure it’s just as lovely as the evening food.

The owners were incredibly welcoming, they let us into our rooms to change for a wedding well before the check in time, they hadn’t been serviced at that stage but even so they were more than accommodating. The landlord even dropped us off at the wedding venue! The pub was quaint and cosy, the rooms clean and very comfortable with smart TV, tea, coffee, hot chocolate in the room. Comfy bed, spacious bathroom with great water pressure for the shower and BIG towels (which I never find anywhere!)! When we got back from the wedding the landlord was friendly and excited to hear about our day/night. The next morning we were welcomed downstairs with tea/coffee. We hadn’t booked breakfast (expecting severe hangovers) but really wished we had when we saw and smelled what had been served for the table next to us. We will definitely stay there again if we’re ever in the area, would love to see it and use their garden in the summer. Everything was very relaxed and we were welcomed as though we’d been locals for years.

The ONLY thing I could pick out is some of the wallpaper was a little tired, but the overall decor was clean and bright but didn’t take away from the character of the building, a quintessential English pub!

The owners were lovely people and fantastic hosts and went above and beyond ensuring that we had an enjoyable stay. The rooms were lovely, clean, and stylishly decorated. The beds were amazingly comfy and the area was very quiet so we had a really good nights sleep. There was everything in the accomodation, ie tea and coffee making items, tv, hairdryer and toiletries to make our stay more comfortable. All the meals were excellent and good value for money, for example the generous breakfast was very tasty and well presented. The location was ok, there didn`t seem to be much there but we had to travel to Westpoint to attend an event that went on all day into the evening, so we didn`t have time to do any exploring.

It was just unfortunate that there wasn`t a lift, but totally understandable with the Thorverton Arms being a listed building.

Simple and efficient check-in. A basic but clean room with a very comfy bed and clean shower/toilet. Tea and coffee making facilities. Friendly pub - not always the locals are happy to chat! Good pub food and excellent beer. A bit out of the way but prominent in village. Decent car park.

My only criticism is that the shower room had been closed up - I suspect a few days - and there was a slight odour in there (no window). Once I had the door open for a while and bedroom window also open the smell disappeared. However I would be happy to stay again.

Thorverton is a lovely village to visit, we enjoyed our evening walk and a visit to the Farm Shop down the road. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our bedroom was a little cramped but had everything we needed. Service in the bar and restaurant was excellent. Our evening meal was also excellent. The same for the porridge and poached eggs on toast for breakfast.

Nothing to dislike.
