We thought Combe Lancey Farmhouse would be a perfect location for walks in Dartmoor and indeed it was. We had a wonderful walk from Fingle Bridge along the River Teign, taking in breathtaking views once we reached Castle Drogo. We loved that we had the whole floor to ourselves, with the two rooms in close proximity and it was great to read the rich history of the farmhouse itself. The grounds themselves were well maintained and welcoming. In the evening we ate at the Three Little Pigs, which had a good menu, unique decor and accommodating staff.

We unfortunately had to cut our stay short, due to a last minute business meeting in London, but would love to return another day.

A beautiful en-suite room attached to the farmhouse. Only 2 rooms (double and a triple) which was perfect for our family stay on route to Cornwall. My parents arrived early and were welcomed by our host who gave them the tour of the room and grounds and when we arrived an hour later they were enjoying a cup of tea on the patio table below the rooms in the beautiful gardens. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere so tranquil. The walk to the village was down country lanes laden with blackberries. The pub food delicious, and the walk back in the twilight accompanied by bats flying overhead and the screech of owls in the nearby copse. Breakfast was in the upstairs room adjoining the bedrooms and was a delicious array of warmed pastries, fruits and yoghurt and cereals with great coffee. Loved everything about this stay and will definitely return!

The pictures do not do the B&B justice. Set on a private lane, there was no traffic noise. The grounds are extensive with front and a separate large (secret) side garden. The rooms have been sympathetically updated without losing the original charm of the historic buildings. Our room was enormous, with plenty of space to spread out our things. The bed was very comfortable. It was wonderful to have a large bath with a shower over and top of the range toiletries provided. There is a ground-floor games room for the young at heart. Mike has researched the origins of the area covering 900 years of local history. There are interesting photographs of the farmhouse from previous generations. Breakfast was fruit, yoghurt, toast and continental pastries. Fredereike also offered to make us some boiled eggs. One or two slices of cheese would have been perfect. We ate at the nearby Lamb Inn in Sandford which is about a twenty minute walk away (torch needed). We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

We were met by our host on arrival, who provided a tour of facilities available to us. Our room was clean and tidy. The continental breakfast offered a choice of cereals and pasteries, jam, toast, yoghurt, and fresh fruit salad. There was a box file full of leaflets about local tourist attractions available in the breakfast room.

We didn't sleep too well as we did not find the mattress very comfortable. This is more than likely a reflection on the type of mattress we have at home and not being used to the type of mattress provided.

A beautiful and peaceful location in the countryside but only a short drive to Crediton. Frederike gave us delicious healthy breakfasts including fruit salads, home made muesli, yogurt, toast and pastries. The bedroom and bathroom were both spacious and comfortable plus looked out onto the attractive garden.

The weather suddenly turned colder for our trip and we felt a bit chilly in the room during the evenings. I guess Frederike would have provided a heater if we’d actually asked her.

Beautifully peaceful and quite the unique hideaway. Lovely welcome from the owners, who were about if we needed but also gave us our privacy. The breakfast was freshly prepared and provided at a time that suited us. Really enjoyed our short stay and would recommend. Thank you

Idyllic location, beautiful old property, quiet rural surroundings. Slept like a baby! Frederique and Mike were kind and attentive hosts.

The shower was abit flakey in the twin bedded room.

Beautiful location. It's a tudor manor with gorgeous formal gardens. We had a very friendly welcome and a wonderful chat with the owners about the history of the manor. It felt very relaxing and luxurious.

Stunning Thatched bnb. Surrounding grounds and farm just beautiful and kept in impeccable condition. Nice big room, clean with double bed but mattress a little soft. Lovely location. Not a lot to do a few more pamphlets would be helpful to get to know the area but very pretty area. Local pubs The Lamb Inn amazing and great food. Frederiek was very welcoming and breakfast lovely but a bit of variety would be nice. Pastries were warm and cuppa tea hot. 🙂 We just aren't used to pastries for breakfast. Frederiek very kindly allowed us to look through their beautifully restored Thatched Through house that they have restored to an amazingly high standard. The workmanship is another level.
