Breakfast was hot, freshly cooked and substantial, according to choice. My room faced east and with a 'fresh' wind blowing most of the time it was possible to enjoy fresh air through the open window all night long, most efficacious!. Dinner was severed in the same dinning room as breakfast, with a good view of the North sea through a large rectangular window. The food was good, but with reservation, according to order, but was always hot and plenty of it.
I did not like the 'pet friendly' aspect of the hotel. With more than one dog in the dinning room, guide dogs apart, canine rivalry would raise it's head, which it did, several times whilst there. The hotel bar, the 'pub' that is The Red Lion, Norfolk Pub of the year 2025, has 14 draught beers and four draught ciders on the bar, as well as numerous taps for the 'fizzy' stuff. The bar was very well patronised each night, a pleasant enough location for a beer, you may think, but sadly, as i find in so many places nowadays, the concept of a quite pint is receding into the past, if it ever existed in the first place!. Bedlam!.

The Red Lion is in a great location overlooking the sea. Our double Seaview room was was clean comfortable and relaxing. With two armchairs placed in front of the window it was a great place to chill and take in the amazing views. Good selection of tea, coffee and bottled water. The bar and restaurant were excellent. Breakfast lunch and dinner menus had great choice and the standard of food was excellent. The staff were always friendly. Loved our stay and will definitely return.
Breakfast service on the second morning of our stay was slow despite the restaurant being quiet.

Great hotel, our room was gorgeous and big. Very dog friendly which was the big thing for us. Perfect location and staff really are amazing.
There's nothing i can say we didn't like. The one reason I gave an overall 9 instead of 10 is the breakfast. The food quality was excellent but just a litter hit and miss. I know it's all cooked fresh but just seemed bit slow one day, fast the next. Also alot of flies in lounge but pastries left uncovered on tables. Just preference really but staff are all so lovely and out dog enjoyed their sausage every morning .

The sea view was perfect from the room. The bedroom was lovely with a small but adequate bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, as was the previous night's dinner, also with views out over the sea. The location was ideal for my early morning walk on the pier and beach for photography. The staff were very helpful, assisting with cases etc and advising where to park for free on street as the hotel car parl was full by the time we arrived. But the best bit was to be able to sit in our room with the window open looking out over the sea, the pier and the beach, which made the cost of a room with a sea view worthwhile.
Nothing!

Lovely warm room with a very comfortable bed. Good sized bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, and it was so nice to have table service as opposed to the usual buffet scramble every morning! The restaurant offered a really good choice of menu and the quality was exceptional. The bar area was friendly and welcoming and obviously very popular with local residents too. Staff throughout were really friendly and attentive. There was a nice lounge area at the rear of the building. Free on-site parking was easily accessible and secure.
It was disappointing that there was scaffolding in place, which marred the view, especially as we had paid extra for a sea view room, but hadn't been advised of this.

Location and view amazing. Room 7 is a great room. Great vibe in busy pub with nice wines and amazing choice of beers. Breakfast was good.
Unfortunately the scaffolding around the bathroom marred the view and even with the blinds the workmen could see into the bathroom. We get that work needs to be done though. The sliding door into the ensuite is good as you get the great view but the doors were flimsy so I think something a little more substantial would be better. Swap the TVs round. The bed linen could be better quality for the cost. Bar prices very high, but bar was packed so obviously not a problem for the punters.

The Red Lion hotel has an ideal position. The room was clean & comfortable.Nothing was too much trouble, the Staff were absolutely superb, friendly and so helpful. The breakfast each morning was first class. We arrived promptly and secured a parking space for our stay.
It is a hotel with plenty of atmosphere & character but sadly there was no lift. It wasn’t a problem for us but I can imagine for some less mobile it would have been. The restaurant offered visitors a varied menu but maybe it was slightly too high in prices.

We loved the bar and resturant area . Bar had great atmosphere and great service and views of the sea. Resturant had a great menu both breakfast and dinner menu. Service and food was fantastic. Really friendly helpfully staff in both bar and restaurant.
We had a room with a sea view witch was lovely, but we could hear the Saturday night life going home at all hours throughout the night . But only on the Saturday not the Sunday. You can hear your naughbours in the next room snoring and tv and boiler come on every time they take a shower. . Also the room above you can hear them walking around . These where the only down side to our stay . Room was comfortable and clean.

Arrived in Cromer after walking the Norfolk Coast Path….tired and a little chilly having waited for the sun to finally appear! Managed to check in earlier than planned and very pleased to say our room was lovely, nicely decorated and equipped also with a very welcome bath and lots of nice little touches, fresh Mike and tasty biscuits etc. The whole place was buzzing and we had a delicious evening meal, staff were great and very attentive…breakfast too was very well done! A real treat was the sun finally arriving and witnessing a stunning sunset!
Can’t think of anything….
