A lovely house in an idyllic location. So quiet. Got to chat with the cows! Peter welcomed us and showed us around. The room was really comfortable with a lot of extras such as tea, coffee, biscuits, milk and a hairdryer. Even better, a fan! Always good for a menopausal woman! We will definitely be back.

The only thing is we would have preferred an en-suite bathroom. As there was no one else staying however, it wasn't a problem and the bathroom was right next door. This may be an issue with booking.com as that said it was en suite. But that was a small thing compared to the rest of our stay. We wish we'd booked our whole trip at this property.

Above all, a kind, considerate, interesting and interested host. And the building itself is large and also interesting, in a rural, quiet location, with substantial garden, yet close enough to the A52 for easy travel. Spacious bedroom and bathroom, all very clean. Only 3 rooms, so a feeling that we and the other guests were welcome guests, not just numbers.

There was nothing for us not to like! But if you have difficulties with stairs, which had bends and were rather slippery polished wood, it would probably be best to talk with the host before booking.

The B n B was a gorgeous farm cottage style inside with grandiose feeling to it. I stayed in the Topaz room and it was huge! The robes were a nice added touch and the room had a fridge along with all the teas and coffees you could think of. They were kind enough to let me order Amazon to them in readiness for my arrival. It was peaceful and comfortable. I stayed in the area for a wedding where the venue was 10 minutes away. Uber eats delivered Sainsburys for me! A pub was only a 5 minute walk away. Very homely feel which was just lovely. Owner was lovely and so was his brother who checked me in!

Loved everything, would be good to have an iron in the room, would be the only thing needed.

We had the pleasure of staying at Mackworth house before we attended the local download festival. Upon arrival we found parking in beautiful surroundings. Peter and his loyal companion olive was incredibly hospitable and a great chat showing us all around our spotlessly clean room and it's amenities. The highlight was watching the cows from the window. A grand selection of tea and biscuits available and sky on TV meant we never struggled to find something to watch in the pm. Close to a good little pub in the farmhouse. Once we have rebooked our tickets for next year's festival we shall be rebooking here as it's the perfect little unwind before 5 days of metal.

Only downside is that we found the pillows to be too squishy. This b&b is also on a working farm so there are noises and smells that go with that but that didnt bother us 

We like everything. The breakfast was continental in style...and just right for us. The room was excellent. Plenty of space and a great view over the fields.Everything you'd expect from a farmhouse B&B...cows at the end of the garden and chickens (hens? I'm a townie:-) ) in the garden itself. Great location and access to local places to eat in the evening. One just a 10 minute walk away...which enabled supping some real ale. Great value

Nothing. It more than matched our expectation. It's not a city hotel or a hotel chain - it's a former farmhouse in the countryside with all the trimmings of being adjacent nto a work9ing farm. We loved it. BIG plus.... Very personable and helpful hosts.

I stayed for a short work trip. The property was very easy to find with great communication before hand from the owners. It was easy to park and I was met by extremely friendly owners who gave me a quick tour and showed me to my room. My room was very spacious with all the amenities I required. Bed was so comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. The surrounding area is so quiet and peaceful. I asked about local walks and I was recommended a few routes and I explored the local area. I then had dinner in a local pub. Overall I was very pleased with my stay and If I am in the area again I would not hesitate to book here again.

Beautiful quiet location and tranquil setting for us 2 and our dog Ronnie, very good range of pubs within walking or short drive distance from property…… Lovely farm feel with livestock and countryside back drop all around. Hosts were very friendly and very on hand greeted with smiles and lots of information for us of places to visit locally. Very clean room very comfortable bed very well equipped all round with newly fitted bathroom facilities, we had a lovely break and our Ronnie enjoyed too. Will certainly book again many thanks for accommodating us last minute at a very good rate. Mark Dawn Rondog x

Our host was very courteous and friendly. The room was nicely furnished with a comfortable bed and generously equipped bathroom. There was helpful info about local eating places - we were glad to find a good pub in walking distance. Also useful parking, excellent wifi, and a lovely quiet location in rural setting. Very handy for our visit to Kedlestone National Trust.

Host is hoping to return to providing cooked breakfasts in the future and that will be a good addition. (Though we went to local pub for early breakfast which was lovely.)

Peter made us feel very welcome to visit his wonderful B&B. Everything was explained, and instruction cards were also in the room for items such as the WiFi and local places to visit. The breakfast order card was also there to be filled in that night. The Amber suite is large! Sitting room with large TV, kitchenette (fridge, freezer, sink etc.) and bathroom with modern shower and bath. Plenty of very hot water! The bedroom is large with a very comfortable bed, lounge chair, desk and TV, lots of storage and wardrobe. Also dressing gowns! It's a B&B, but as you have your own area, it felt very self contained and we could not hear any other guests or the host. We overlooked the farmyard at the back and that offered more interest! Breakfast was continental, and plentiful, in the lovely music room. Overall, a stunning find and well recommended!

An old style farmhouse that was clean and tidy, the room was spacious. We stayed for a couple of days for a wedding we were attending at the Mackworth farmhouse hotel, just a 5 min walk up the road. There is plenty of choice regarding tea and coffee. water, and milk in the fridge and restocked on request. Pete, the host, was warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again.

The only slight downside was that the room did not have on-suite, but the bathroom was next door. It was our private bathroom so we could leave our toiletries in there, and we were supplied bathrobes, which I thought was a lovely touch.
